Welcome, welcome, welcome. Another episode of From my Perspective, I'm your boy, Deion. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas holiday. I hope you got everything you wanted and if you've been naughty all year, I hope you got your coat like you deserve. But how you guys are doing Again, I'm your boy, Deion. How's it going King?
Speaker 2:Hey man, what's going on? Y'all, it's your boy, Mr Bill. How's it going King? Hey man, what's going on? Y'all it's your boy, mr Bill, Doing all right.
Speaker 1:DI. Yeah, I am doing all right. I'm doing better than one of my fellow back brothers, mike Brown, the former head coach of the Sacramento Kings. Like it's low-key breaking news happening within the last five or six hours, maybe a little bit less. He was informed that he has been relieved of his duties Head coach of the Sacramento Kings. Obviously, they're having a somewhat down year.
Speaker 1:This was his third year with Sacramento. First year had him with a 48-34 record Seemed like a great year. That whole light the beam thing was just going crazy. Whole renaissance going on for the Kings. They had a down year, still a decent record, not that much off the pace that they had the following year 46 and 36. Some people expected to fall off but they thought, okay, they'll be good this year, not starting out great. I think they're on a little bit of a losing streak. They have a 13-18 record. I believe they're two games back from the play-in. But they fired him. I feel like Mike Brown's got the short end of the stick. How do you feel? I feel like De'Aaron Fox got him fired.
Speaker 2:That's how you feel. I feel like De'Aaron Fox got him fired. That's how you feel. Okay, cool, Rich Paul and De'Aaron Fox came out last week and they was talking about what Rich Paul mainly was like we're going to talk to Sacramento and check and see what the future holds and see what's going on. Okay, that was last week. Why would De'Aaron Fox be even? Being in talk about trading. He's the star of the team, he's the franchise piece.
Speaker 2:Why would the conversation even be brought up about him being trading. Okay, cool. Like I said, that was last week. Now, all of a sudden, mike Bryant get fired.
Speaker 1:No, but two and two together, I see what it is. It's equaling four. It's equaling four.
Speaker 2:I could be wrong, but it definitely feels like De'Aaron Fox got him fired and let's call a spade a spade. It ain't like. I love Spongebob right. Used to play for Indiana Faces, part of my team. I hate to see him go, but I'm glad we got Halliburton right. It ain't like De'Aaron Fox, halliburton, derozan, monk None of these dudes that I've just listed play defense. Mike Brown is a defensive coach. That's what he do. So you give him nothing but offensive dudes. It did. The biggest problem right now is defense. You give him a roster full of offensive dudes, dudes that don't want to play defense. So what did you expect to?
Speaker 1:happen. Honestly, he was making it work somewhat. Man man Sacramento, they was purgatory, he brought people. They didn't respect him. Nobody did.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:They wasn't purgatory. No, they are a respectable team and if I don't mean Mike Brown, he's been getting the short end of the stick. Obviously he was a LeBron James coach. He coached Kobe Bryant. He's only coached for three teams the Cleveland Cavaliers, the LA Lakers and then the Sacramento Kings Coach for Cleveland twice. Yeah, he went to Cleveland a second time. The second time it was only for a year. He's going to land on his feet. He's too good of a coach not to be a head coach in this league. I don't know where he lands, but he will land on his feet. My question is I mean, it's so early in the year it's not even halfway through the year and you fire your coach. I'm assuming they got somebody on staff that they're going to promote, but who's coaching the Sacramento?
Speaker 2:Kings next season? Oh, that's a good question. I would love to see Sam Cassell get an opportunity to coach at some point. I feel like he deserves the opportunity to be a head coach. That's the first name that popped into my mind is Sam Cassell, but I don't know if Sam Cassell fits. I don't know, man. I think De'Aaron Fox is going to have to be the one to pick the coach, so it's going to have to be somebody, de'aaron Fox, to rock with.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he's definitely going to. I mean, that's how the NBA works Once you find a star player, you find out who your star player rocks with and you go in with him. The star player is the football head coach. He takes the back seat to the star player in the NBA. That's just how it works.
Speaker 2:True and plus. Let's be real, like they got a losing record. Right now there's plenty of time for the record to improve. But also they are playing in the West. The West is murderous road for them dog.
Speaker 2:It's really murderous road. It's hard to gain momentum in the West because you're going night in, night out versus great competition. Nobody thought Sacramento was going to be this bad. So for Sacramento to be that low. And then you got all these other great teams ahead of you, or good teams, I ain't going to say great. You got a lot of good teams ahead of you. It's to be expected. But you should at least gave them some all-star break to see if he could turn it around. But this reminds me of Adrian Griffin Last year when they fired him and then they brought Doc in in the middle of the year. Ain't no Docs out there right now?
Speaker 1:Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's a terrible situation. I hate it for Mike Brown. I think he had land on his feet, but, like you said, it is murderous road in the West. Just to put it in perspective for you guys in the Eastern Conference, the last team in the play-in is the Chicago Bulls. They have a 13-18 record. They have a 13-18 record. They have a 13-18 record. Obviously, there's a little gap between 7 and 10. In the West put it in perspective the Chicago Bullets have a 13-18 record. The 76ers, who's 11, have an 11-17 record. The 12-team, the Nets, have a 13-18 record. The 76ers, who's 11, have an 11-17 record. The 12 team, the Nets, have a 12-19 record and it goes super to the basement with the Hornets at 7-23. In the West, the Warriors 15-14 at number 10. The San Antonio Spurs, at 11, are 16-15. The Kings at 12, 13, and 18. And then it's the bottom tier right there the Portland Travers, 10 and 20. But there's just so many people stuck around from. You lose two games, you can fall from six to out of the playoffs.
Speaker 2:Yes, yes, that's what the West is. That is definitely what the West is.
Speaker 1:It's just like I said murder is rogue.
Speaker 2:Let me throw this out. Let me throw two things out real quick. First, bleacher Report got some rumor candidates. First is Mitch Norrie. He's an assistant coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves. All right, they got David Alderman. He is a Denver Nuggets assistant coach. Sam not the Sam Doug Christie is on the staff now. I think they're going to give him the head coaching role until they find another head coach. They said potentially. You know, if he plays his cards right, he links up with some bonus and Fox, he could potentially get the head coaching position. And another name they got is Dorman Ham, I think it's too soon for him to get back on that side.
Speaker 2:The name I don't see is Adrian Griffiths.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's a name that needs to be on somebody's list it definitely should be.
Speaker 2:Another thing I want to point out real quick Sacramento firing their coach. You know not even 40 games in Y'all. Who do y'all think y'all are Like y'all? Just, he just cashed out to the playoffs and ended y'all drought. Like he. He just cashed out to the playoffs and ended y'all drought. He's the reason for y'all to get here because y'all had some bonus football and I hope I wish I had saved it.
Speaker 1:I knew who he was talking about. I wish I had saved it. But the Sacramento Kings they have the longest championship throughout any team in the NBA. I think it's like 70-some years.
Speaker 2:Who do they think they are Fon. They think they the Warriors. They think they the Lakers. That's who they think they are. They think they like not even the I was about to say not even the Clippers would do some stuff like this. Y'all on the same level as the Clippers. Like, chill out now. Y'all. Don't deserve to fire y'all because you're middle of the season.
Speaker 1:It was in time too Like they're not one of them. Premium market teams. Like again, y'all not playing on Christmas Day like some of these other teams.
Speaker 2:No, so why are we even discussing y'all?
Speaker 1:Yeah. So, speaking of Christmas Day, the NFL-NBA Christmas Day War, I'm calling it. It's I feel like it's misleading the ratings. Nfl killed the NBA. The average viewership for the NFL Christmas Day get doubleheader 24.2 million, the average for the NBA 5.25 million. I don't know how some people consume their sports, but I have a computer and I have a TV literally right next to each other, so I was two TV in it the whole day NBA on one TV, nfl another one. And I will have to say my eyes was more fixated on my computers, which would have had my NBA on, than the TV would have had the NFL on, because the NBA product was so much better than the NFL product. Obviously they killed them in the ratings, but each game I didn't watch the last one because I went to sleep.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Each game was a thriller, obviously the Knicks, san Antonio Spurs, wimby and Mike Hill Bridges putting up 40.
Speaker 2:We did Mike Hill because Brock has been struggling most of the year. I was trying to be nice.
Speaker 1:But they both put up 40. That last five minutes was one hell of a show, especially for Mike Hill. Obviously, jason Tatum and the Boston Celtics. They went up against the 76ers. Pretty good game. The 76ers won. Right, yeah, 76ers won. Came down close to the wire Minnesota Timberwolves and the Dallas Mavericks. Obviously, luka went down, but Kyrie Irving put up 39. He balled. And the marquee matchup, LeBron versus Steph Curry. Man, steph Curry, he, I don't got no words. The man hit two big threes to tie the game up. And then the white boy, austin Reese, took Andrew Wiggins to the cup for the game. Just a great way to end it. I didn't watch the last game. I fell asleep, man. It was the we in the East Coast. That game started at 10, so I had to get some sleep. I was up all day watching sports. The product NBA killed NFL games was boring. One game a team only scored a safety.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah. Again the reason one game a team only scored a safety.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But again the ratings don't say it. But how did you feel about? I'm calling it the NBA-NFL Christmas war?
Speaker 2:Okay, cool. So even with the NBA losing in the you know, losing five ratings they still put up respectable numbers, and it was an increase from the previous two years. So the NBA did what it was supposed to do. Let's be real, it's not a competition. Everybody gonna watch football and they have Mariah and Beyonce. What you gonna do, it's only so much you can do. It's all Christmas. You got Mariah the queen of Christmas and then they got.
Speaker 2:Beyonce, the queen of the queens. It's only so much the NBA was supposed to do. There was nobody else they could get, but they're going to get Bon Jovi out there to perform as one of them half-time shows.
Speaker 1:You too.
Speaker 2:You too, red Hot Chili Peppers. I don't know. I thought he'd perform at some one of them. Halftime shows Me too. You too, like I don't know. I don't know, red Hot Chili Peppers.
Speaker 1:I don't know what you want them to do. Keep Irving.
Speaker 2:Like I don't know, like what did you want them to do?
Speaker 1:I got some suggestions. You know, obviously next year Christmas is on a Thursday, nfl going to come hot and heavy. I already know how Roger Goodell he going to come. He came two games late this year he coming three games. I'll be surprised if it's not three games. He probably going to put Patrick Mahomes versus Josh Allen, joe Merrill versus Lamar Jackson and the Cowboys versus somebody. That's how he going to come. He going to come like that.
Speaker 1:The biggest thing to me, the difference between the NFL and NBA for Christmas Day, I think, was the production aspect. If you're watching the NFL, it felt like Christmas, christmas stuff. Obviously it was on Netflix First time on Netflix. That's a big deal Christmas production. Obviously you got Mariah, you got Beyonce. Lebron tweeted out earlier in the day he felt like having those Christmas Day jerseys. That's something that was missing.
Speaker 1:Felt like next year NBA bring back some Christmas Day jerseys. Maybe put a Christmas Day emblem on the court, produce it up a little bit, man, put it on the scoreboard, make it some type of Christmassy, make it a little bit more Christmassy. You're not going to win the ratings. You got to compete better. You compete well because of the product on the court. That's why it looked good, but you're going to have to keep doing that. You got to make it a little bit more Christmassy. Help it out, bring it out again, but you're going to have to keep doing that. You got to make a little bit more Christmassy, help it out. Bring back the Christmas jerseys, put an emblem on the court Christmas bug and obviously they got Beyonce and Mariah Carey. Y'all got to get somebody Shoot, get Usher, kendrick Lamar, somebody, just try. But I don't know how you feel about who won it or not. Personally, I just feel like, just because the product was so good, I'd give it to the NBA.
Speaker 2:Obviously, the ratings wise, the NFL won Also. Here's the other thing you can do. Like I said, this is for play some games on Christmas Eve.
Speaker 1:There was nothing on Christmas Eve.
Speaker 2:bro, it's a bowl game. It's literally a bowl game.
Speaker 2:They could have wiped them, boy, they tripping, like you said, put the second-tier stars you could have got a good $4, $5 million on Christmas Eve, as well as your Christmas Eve day, as well as your Christmas Day games. You could have had this, but you didn't because you didn't plan ahead. It's okay, I get y'all. Normally NBA have had this, but you didn't because you didn't plan ahead. It's okay, I get y'all. Normally, nba normally doesn't play on Christmas Eve. That's cool. Change it up, because the NFL changed it up, they're coming, they're here.
Speaker 2:Adam Silver is a very progressive commissioner. Be progressive in this way too. Okay, cool, we're going to play on Christmas Eve as well. You got enough. You have enough stars that you can fill up on Christmas Eve to make it feel like something. Maybe you should have moved. You could have put Kevin Durant and Joker on Christmas Eve and then you could have put Oklahoma City versus somebody as the last game. You could have did something like that. Like I said, make him feel more marquee. Like you said, maybe another thing they can do is maybe don't do five minutes, maybe just do four.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that last game Even though people get tired of getting the East Coast getting everything True, true.
Speaker 2:People get tired of getting the East Coast getting everything, true, but I feel it and I get that by that point it's 10 o'clock, you're not competing. You ain't competing against nobody, so that is kind of easy, right, you could really put anybody out there as that field game. You know what I'm saying. I don't think it has to necessarily be nobody, but, like you said, the competition was better for the NBA because them NFL dudes, they had just played Saturday. They're going to play three games in 13 days. Come on, what are we doing? What are we doing? Wow, they doing way too much, way too much. But you know what I was doing. I watched the first two games. I watched the Boston and Philly game. I only got to see a very little bit of that, because then I'm with the family and we watching Christmas, everybody watching football. I came in the house. I'm like why we got two TVs on football? Like what are we?
Speaker 2:doing it's not TVs on football, like, what are we doing? It's not necessary. No, oh, what are we doing? We didn't have to do all that. And then, like I'm going to say this, and I know you're probably ready to move on, but I got to get some stuff out. You've seen Steph hit them big threes and you've also seen Steph walk to the bench and be just like all right, here we go. We got to go back out here. I'm doing the best I can and we got to go back out here. I did everything I could you know what I'm saying but we still got to go back out here. I'm putting up numbers, I'm hitting my shots, but we still got to go back out here and we still trailing, we losing to them. Like, let's be real, the Lakers is. Andy Davis was out.
Speaker 1:Yep, lost me my parlay, but it's cool. It's cool AD.
Speaker 2:Andy Davis was out, so y'all should the Warriors should have that game, but Steph did his part. Hey Warriors, y'all just heard me out. Y'all might want to figure out how to get that man some help.
Speaker 1:And there's somebody out there that's looking supposedly to get out. That could get. That would be helpful.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he wants out but they ain't going to let him out. Sure, pat Riley came out and said we ain't trying him. Y'all can cut our lead out. Pat Riley OG with it. Both of the gyms would just be like we got I'd probably OG with it. Both of the gyms would just be like we're going to look at all our options, but we want Jimmy here. You know what I'm saying. But blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Well, they wouldn't even respond to the questions, because they don't answer questions. I'd rather say we're not charging Jimmy.
Speaker 1:Go ahead, don't even worry about it, we're not charging, jimmy, I just know. Jimmy Butler ain't getting taken to the cup like Andrew Wiggins did against Austin Reeves. That's one thing.
Speaker 2:What the fall off of Andrew Wiggins has to be studied, because he still that's the greatest thing is. He still showed glimpses.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but Kaminga's their second best player.
Speaker 2:He is he has a journey mark coming off the bench now, yeah, kaminga's their second best player.
Speaker 1:I was watching that game. I'm like damn, it's Kaminga chewing yeah.
Speaker 2:But you can't keep waiting on.
Speaker 1:Kaminga to develop and Steph is already getting comfortable with retiring. Yeah, yeah, damn. Yeah, he did say that too.
Speaker 2:He's getting comfortable with retiring. Same thing for LeBron Lakers. Need to figure something out.
Speaker 1:Before we slide over to the MVP talk, I just want to talk about a future MVP winner. He's going to win it one of these days if he keeps on his trajectory. Wimby the man put up 40 in the garden. I was so impressed by that. This is one of the. I've obviously watched the San Antonio Spurs. It's the first time I watched them this season with Chris Paul and the first thing that came to my mind watching Chris Paul and that win-beat two-man pick and roll unstoppable. And what came to my mind was neither of them were in their prime. Obviously, victor ain't there yet. Chris Paul is way past it, and I just know Chris Paul was going to bed at night thinking I was eight years younger.
Speaker 2:Chris, I was like damn, I just if I could learn why in the ass did.
Speaker 1:I yeah, I just know he be there and the team it's a lot of young up-and-comers it is, I like that San Antonio Spurs team. They obviously Chris Paul's not going to be there what, maybe two. He probably got maybe what two more one, two more years. He's 39. His game isn't predicated on athleticism, so it's not necessarily that. But well, you got maybe one or two more years left in them legs.
Speaker 2:I'm thinking one for real.
Speaker 1:But damn, if Chris Paul was younger, I'd say that team would win a championship in the next three years. They're going to get somebody that can replace him. There's no Chris Pauls out there. Chris Pauls is a dime a dozen. There's no Chris Pauls out there. Chris Pauls is a dime a dozen. There's no Chris Pauls out there. So we will see how it works. But I was so impressed by that team, obviously impressed by Wimby. The man's going to win an MVP within the next three or four years. I just want to point that out. That's just something I wanted to point out. But oh, but, oh three.
Speaker 2:You said three. Yeah, I can say three or four because he's probably going to win. He's probably going to win defensive play out of your award. This year. Steven Castle plays for San Antonio. If he pays attention to, you know, chris Powell, he's not going to. I mean nobody's going to be Chris Powell. But if he studies Chris Powell him and Vassell, devin, vassell them two if they go rub off, if Chris Powell can rub off on them two a little bit and they go kind of combine to give you what Chris Powell would have gave you, I think they're going to have a bright future. Because I mean it wouldn't be something we've never seen before, damn man, it wouldn't be something we've never seen before. That man was cooking he's 7'4", 5' whatever, stepping back with the three, yeah, the inning. I don't think he. Probably Shaq said it too when that jump ain't falling.
Speaker 2:He should have done something.
Speaker 1:Yeah, because I mean Birdie's 7'5" and the rim protection man. When he's in they said it on the broadcast like when he's on the court, there's like a five-foot difference when the shots are being taken when he's off the court. When he's off the court they go into that paint. When he's on the court they not touching that paint Because that man you ain't getting nothing in his vicinity. But I just wanted to point out how impressed I was by San Antonio Spurs as a whole. Even though they didn't get that win, the team looks good and they got a bright future. Once they figure out Chris Powell replacement, because obviously he's not going to be there long, they can. He's not going to be there long. They can make some noise in the playoffs. But let's talk about current future. Not future, but current MVP contenders.
Speaker 2:What you got over there, as everybody knows, I listen to Brian Wynhorse and the who Collective and that's where I say Tim McMahon, but Tim Bombs him. He does a straw butt earlier, or he does it at the beginning of the season, middle of the season, but Tim Bombshams does the straw vote. He does it at the beginning of the season, middle of the season, at the end of the season of potential voters, people who would more than likely vote for the MVP. I'm going to give you the top three people and you tell me what you think. First was Joker, second was Shea and then three was Giannis. And I'm going to tell you this A lot of people changed their vote. So Joker was winning, but it wasn't super close, but it was close between him and Shea. But after the playing not the playing game the in-season tournament championship, a lot of people hit him and they changed their votes to make the margin even bigger between Joker and Shea. Personally, I feel like it's kind of petty, because the in-season tournament championship actually doesn't count.
Speaker 1:No it doesn't.
Speaker 2:The championship game doesn't count. The other games count. The championship game doesn't count. No, it don't. The championship game doesn't count. The other games count. The championship game doesn't count. But it is kind of hard to ignore when you're watching it with your eyes. As far as the eye test, but yeah, one was Joker, two was Shea, three was Giannis. I think I forgot who was. I'm trying to remember who was four, but I knew. I think I forgot who was. I'm trying to remember who it was for, but I knew. I know. Dallas, dallas, guard Luka was fat.
Speaker 1:Jason Tatum wasn't in the conversation.
Speaker 2:I think Tatum was. I think Tatum was for Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm doing this off memory, yeah, so, I mean I feel like Shea, you got to put your team record into account, man.
Speaker 1:Shea got his team first. They're 24-9. I know a lot of people I've seen here recently. A lot of people have been getting on Shea. They're calling him the free throw merchant Damn. That's what I've been hearing on the Twitter. I'm just telling you what I heard. I feel like it's Shay Joker. Joker's coming to the point when he's the best Big in the game. Victor coming, Joel and me is always hurt, but Joker's the best big in the game and you can probably never go wrong with picking with him.
Speaker 1:but you know how these voters are. They get voters fatigued. They don't want to vote for the same guy over and over and over again. Maybe they should, but I think it's going to be Shea.
Speaker 2:All right, let me give you the whole list Joker 1, shea 2, giannis 3, tatum 4, luka 5, donovan Mitchell 6, big Cat Corey. Anthony Towns was 7, kevin Durant was 8, jalen Brunson 9, steph Curry 10, and 4 people tied for 11. Anthony Davis, Victor Wimbeano, anthony Edwards and John Ryan those were the people tied at the bottom. The Donovan Mitchell one surprised me, even though, like I know, cleveland started out strong. But him being that kind of surprised me. Tatum, I mean, he's the best player on the best team.
Speaker 1:You know he's going to get post.
Speaker 2:If this was any year previous, you know what I'm saying. Besides Joker years Tatum would probably be your top three because he's consistently the best player on the best team, but he ain't getting over that hump.
Speaker 1:No, I mean a lot of people was bidding on Tatum to be the MVP. They thought he was going to go on a revenge tour. I mean he has somewhat, you know he's put up 30 against some teams, some teams that are coached by USA basketball coaches. So he's been on it kind of fizzling out a little bit. He has cooled down, but there's still plenty of time. The season is still early, maybe a little too early to become MVP, but so far I guess I'll go with Shea.
Speaker 2:I'm going with Joker because it's still Joker. I mean, joker is Joker, I do think. I think I would put Giannis second Overshade, and the reason being as much as I love Oklahoma City me and you did a pod not too long ago that said man, the Bucs is doing it.
Speaker 1:We thought they was doing it.
Speaker 2:He done turned them around and the only person playing better is him. Well, he wasn't even playing better. He's just carrying them Because everybody else is still playing the same. Chris Middleton coming back, but he still hit a miss. You know, dame is getting some Dame for him too, so that's helping, but Giannis is the reason he's dragging that team with him. So I think I would put Giannis at two. Oh sure, right now, but you know it's still early.
Speaker 1:Me and you both, we was looking up, we was scouring the NBA and seeing where could Giannis go. He ain't going nowhere now. He was a trade target. He ain't going nowhere now. So, yeah, still early to see who's going to win the MVP. We definitely will revisit this conversation post New Year's, probably closer to the end of January, because that's about when teams, that's, when these MVP candidates, start to separate themselves when it comes to a two, three man race. But we'll see and I'm excited for it. Hey, it's about time to start watching nothing but basketball. Nfl season coming to an end. Nfl season coming to an end. College football season coming to an end. Since I'm on college football, round two, before we get into these games that's coming up. The last games we talked about, they was all blowouts, man.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we ain't got to discuss them All blowouts.
Speaker 1:So nothing exciting, I will say. I will ask you, though do you think they changed the format of the playoffs in terms of how the seating was done, because that was a lot of people's issues.
Speaker 2:Well, you know they're not going to change it next year because it's a two-year window. I don't think they should. I don't think they should. And the reason being is I'm going to keep saying this didn't nobody tell all of y'all teams Big Ten and SEC to put all these damn hard schools in y'all same damn conference? Then y'all won't complain about you know, getting enough seats at the table. Didn't nobody tell you to put 10 good teams in your damn conference?
Speaker 1:Yep, that's your fault. I was talking to a friend a while back. He's actually. I have a friend that's a Texas fan. I was telling him I don't like how I moved to the SEC man, If y'all was in the Big 12, it's not an easy trip to playoff every year, but it's easier to get in the. Sec.
Speaker 2:Y'all are Georgia smacks you out. You know what I mean, right.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they would have easily won the Big 12 this year Easily.
Speaker 2:This year they would have walked. Would have walked. Boise State wouldn't have been getting that bad, texas would have been getting that bad. Yep.
Speaker 1:It's a lot.
Speaker 2:Here's the thing Ohio State have you would have probably had a bad. Well, no problem, you would have had a bad because organ would have been in the pack 12 and they would have. They would have been up. Yeah, you did this to yourself. Nobody made y'all do this. Now y you're traveling all around the globe, all around the country, to play these games and still might not even be number one in your conference For who and for what. Y'all did this to yourselves. I don't think they should keep making the SEC and the Big Ten feel special.
Speaker 1:That's what they're going to try to do.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because them two. If I'm in these other conferences I'd be like y'all got it. Y'all did this, y'all got it. Y'all just play each other. We're going to make it two other divisions. We're going to have the Big Ten SEC division, we're going to have the new FBS division with the ACC, the Pac-12s and the Mountain West, and then we still have the FCS. Forget it. And we'll go from there.
Speaker 1:That's what some people want, especially them people down south. But let's go ahead and look at these matchups. Let's start out Tuesday, new Year's Eve, on ESPN Penn State versus Boise State. I've heard some people are picking Boise State because they're expecting James Franklin to James Franklin one of these games. You got any faith in Boise State? Yeah, I'm picking Boise State. I'm picking Boise State too. Actually, I would hope Penn State going to load that box. Y'all need to, because the Shilby Heisman one is going to run all over y'all if y'all don't.
Speaker 2:Yep, I want him to too, because I'm I want them to be, I want them to beat Penn State. And it ain't nothing against James Ferguson, it's against the Big Ten and the SEC.
Speaker 1:Next matchup this one is on New Year's Day at 1 o'clock Texas versus Arizona State. Texas is a, according to this one, 13 and a half point favorite. I think Arizona State stands a chance. They have Cam Scadaboo back there, not Ashton Gentry, but another solid running back. I think they stand a chance. Texas defense is probably the best defense in the nation, by by the way. I think I want Arizona State to win. I do too, but I think Texas wins that one.
Speaker 2:That's why I said I won't. I want Arizona State to win. Especially because that's the conference that Texas just came from. So you just lost to the new member of the Big 12. That would be lovely.
Speaker 1:Yep. Next game Ohio State. This is probably going to be the best game of the day Ohio State versus Oregon at 5 pm on New Year's Day. Man, new Year's Day is going to be a hell of a day. This game the first time these teams matched up, it was in Eugene Ended in a one-point game in favor of Oregon. Ohio State pretty much just ran out of time. That's how it was. They basically ran out of time. They was a great kicker game winning Figo, but they ran out of time. Ohio State looked damn good against Tennessee. I'm a firm believer of it's hard to beat a team twice, so I'm going to Ohio State. Yeah, I'm going to. It's a tough one, though it's a tough one.
Speaker 2:I'm going to go Ohio State. Yeah, I'm going to go Ohio State, I don't, and it's no shade, to Oregon. I don't go Ohio State, I don't, and there's no shade to Oregon, it's more so. I want at this point, I want it for Ryan.
Speaker 1:Day, because they had that man's job.
Speaker 2:They had his shit packed but I had his job with his head too, I mean on the high seat too, because in fact, man, you lost to Michigan and you ain't losing the first round, you ain't losing the first round. So yeah, I want it for Ryan Day because you hear all the stories about the stuff he struggles with his family, his daughters. You know they get attacked. Man, he created a whole beef between Herstory and First Tate.
Speaker 1:Y'all man Got them squabbling on them. National network TVs. Last game of the New Year's Day slate. The game I'm probably most excited for Notre Dame versus Georgia. Georgia will not have Carson Beck. He's not playing at all during the playoffs. So I may or may not have a Notre Dame National Championship ticket out just saying so. I'm going. Notre Dame.
Speaker 2:I'm going Notre Dame too, because again you just hating on the SEC today.
Speaker 1:Come on, guys, that's just what it is Captain Hayden.
Speaker 2:hey, man, I'm sick of the SEC and I'm sick of the big team, because the SEC, sec is going to be the one to drive the bus. We've got to have four mandatory spots For who. For what? I mean Split that damn conference up.
Speaker 1:That's what y'all needed to do. Go ahead and send Texas, oklahoma and Texas A&M back to the Big 12.
Speaker 2:Missouri and Arkansas too, even though that Arkansas thing is like, oh you know, arkansas used to be in a conference with Texas and Alabama. Me my college school, by the way Arkansas was always a single school. But I do. You know what I'm saying. I do know of Arkansas being in the conference with them. But hell no, put all them damn schools up Again. What you doing. You did this to yourself. You got Alabama. You got Georgia. You got Alabama. You got Georgia. You got Tennessee. You got Florida, florida, kind of. You know they ain't been Florida. You know what I'm saying. They ain't been Florida, florida, florida, they good Florida. You got Ole Miss. I heard all of them, but Ole Miss can't get the opportunity because they got to get over Texas and Georgia. And, you know, at some point Auburn is going to, auburn is going to get it together because they do whatever it wants to.
Speaker 1:That's Ole Miss. This year is Ole Miss' fault. Don't lose to Kentucky. Yeah, that's true, that's y'all fault. Y'all lost to Kentucky. Y'all shouldn't be in there because y'all lost to Kentucky. Kentucky was horrible this year. My man, that team this year Y'all shouldn't be losing to them. Louisville smacked them around. I just want to point that out. I'm so sick of that team in blue. We put belt to ass on them. But yeah, that's this week's college playoffs. They're in the final eight. I hope college football makes a big deal of the final four. When teams make it to the final four, I hope they make a big deal of it. They need to call it the Final Four. Maybe give teams some banners, some Final Four banners or something. I hope so. I'm just hoping. But Final Four. Up next is the Final Eight.
Speaker 2:I have the idea. Final Four banners.
Speaker 1:Let's do it. Let's do it. Right now is the lead eight. We'll have the final four. Next we will see. Now it's time for the NFL Pickers. We are at the last week, the last two weeks of the NFL season. A lot of these teams, they ain't got nothing to play for. Some of these teams they go to that locker room on Wednesday for the first practice of the week. They go into that huddle, they break that up 1-2-3 Cancun. They ready to get up out of there 1-2-3.
Speaker 2:I'm going to holler at y'all later. Y'all be easy out here.
Speaker 1:Man holler at me they looking at them, hefty trash bags out the corner of the AI, mm-hmm.
Speaker 2:Some of them already started clearing out their locker room. All that extra stuff, yeah no sir. All right back. First game Titans versus Jaguars.
Speaker 1:Both teams probably got their vacations booked. Mm-hmm, I'm going. Titans Jaguars yeah, doug Peterson, you're probably up out of there. I'm sorry, man, probably up out of there.
Speaker 2:Oh cool. Also shout out Deion has finally called up to me, which I mean it's not really surprising compared to what he did last year. Shout out to me, yeah, he helped me out for a while. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. And this whole you know picking Tennessee every week I'm starting with a point down every week. I'm starting with a point down every week and you know I had you all for a while Best shot out to me. I'm proud of me.
Speaker 1:Cowboys versus Eagles no Jalen Hurts, no CeeDee Lamb. There's a lot of injuries out there for both teams. The story of this game is if Saquon Barkley can get to 21-06, he's like 200 and some yards away, I'm going Eagles.
Speaker 2:Okay, I am going Eagles as well, because I mean you want me to trust Cooper Rush without CD. Stop it, stop it All right.
Speaker 1:Packers versus Vikings. I'm going Vikings man. Vikings is hot, they look good. Sam Darnold he's got himself a fat payday coming.
Speaker 2:He earned him a bag next season All right, I'm going Packers, just so I don't pick everything the same as you.
Speaker 1:This is the Sunday night game Falcons versus Commanders. Falcons Michael Penix Jr going to go off.
Speaker 2:Okay, I am going to go Commanders. Why, I have no earthly idea. And then I picked a Saturday game because the Monday night game was great.
Speaker 1:What are we doing? It's a Cancun team versus a team that might win the Super Bowl. Before we go to shout out to Louis Vallone Long Tater Bridgewater. We talked about it last week. He said he was trying to make him an NFL comeback. I said it. Well, we both said it. It makes the most sense. He last played for the Detroit Lions. He knows the playbook. The only backup the Lions had was Hendon Hooker, who has not played an NFL regular season snap. I don't know if you want to trust that. If you're a Super Bowl team, I wouldn't. They did the right thing getting Teddy Bridgewater Would have been cool to see him on the Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 2:It would have been it would have been cool, though I did the Saturday night game Cardinals versus Rams.
Speaker 1:Rams, rams, cooper, cooper and Pooka Nicole. They two men, it's crazy Cardinals. They 1-2-3 Cancun, yes sir.
Speaker 2:I'm going with the Rams as well, because, man, you can't. You know, kyler Murray probably playing football now, playing Call of Duty or something, playing college football. You know what I'm saying. He probably playing too gay. Who knows what this man playing? He might be playing Sonic. As far as I know, the movie just came out. He might be in Sonic's head, I don't know.

We went five games in a row. We didn't get our ass smacked. And Tyrese Halliburton, you're the reason we lost versus Oklahoma City. If you're going to be the style player, you're going to need to play like a style player. Quit taking just four shots in the game. How are you the style if you took four shots?
Speaker 1:That's a crown. That should be a crown man. Anyways, happy New Year's to y'all.
