Welcome back to another episode of From Our Perspective. I'm your boy Deion, coming back to you with the sports take. You already know we got our boy. Q. How's it going? Q.
Speaker 2:Hey, man, you already know this, it's your boy, Mr Bill. Hey, can't say your name up on the spot, might not focus your mouth. Hey, what's going on, ben?
Speaker 1:Nothing much, nothing much, Just enjoying my Thursday. Before we get into it, please like subscribe, leave a comment of your liking and also follow us on Twitter, Perspective underscore 08. We repost it over there sometimes, but we getting there. We getting there Still fresh and new, but we're getting there.
Speaker 2:It's a lot of work, ain't it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's a lot of work. It's a lot of work, hey, bro trust me.
Speaker 2:I know I run all the other ones Trust me I know it's hard, bro, it's hard.
Speaker 1:But, speaking of hard decisions, the all-star voting starters came out, I feel. Loading starters came out. Uh, I feel like the sports gods be want to bless us, because it seems like right before we get on, they hit us with something that we can talk about like, oh no they do it every time it feels like I like it.
Speaker 1:They must know, they must know something. But lucky for us, I've seen who are the east and West All-Star starters, but Q somehow I mean shout out to Bleach Report for not loading today for him. He does not know. So with that being known, I'm giving Q an opportunity to guess who was voted All-Star starters for the East and West. Q what you?
Speaker 2:got. Okay, full transparency. I did see LeBron and I seen Cat, so I seen them two. But when I tried to click on the article but it didn't open, the next thing I know I had to do stuff, so I didn't get to go back and look. So, just guessing off the top of my head, I mean it's 10, right, yeah, it's 10. It's 10, 5 and 5. Because I know they was doing the other roster too, so I didn't know if they did 15 this time or not. So it's only 10?.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's only 10. They haven't announced the reserve yet.
Speaker 2:OK, ok, cool, cool, oh shoot. All right. So I know LeBron and Castle, I need eight more. Kevin Durant, that's correct. Joker, that is correct. So that's three in the West. Yep you got the three West and those are wings, so the next two is guards. So I'm going to go, shea.
Speaker 1:Correct.
Speaker 2:It's Lance guard that's going on, luka, correct.
Speaker 1:First incorrect answer.
Speaker 2:Oh, okay, so it's not Luka Damn.
Speaker 1:Luka's been hurt a lot.
Speaker 2:I know. I didn't know if he was going to carry, because I don't think it would be Steph, because the Warriors ain't good, but I know Fanbo's carry, is it Steph?
Speaker 1:It's Steph. That is the starting five for your Western All-Stars Steph and Curry, Shea, Gilgis, Alexander, Kevin Durant, LeBron James and the Joker.
Speaker 2:I should have said I thought of that stuff, but then I was like, well, they boozing, so I'm going to go with Luka. Okay, cool. So I got the West. Now I got to go to the East. I know Cat, so I know Cat's one of them. Okay, I'm going to throw this name out here because I don't think he should be a starter, but I know he was high on the fan vote LaMelo.
Speaker 1:He was not a starter and I actually feel like he maybe got snubbed as a starter. We'll talk about that in a little bit.
Speaker 2:Okay, I didn't think he was going to get it, but I knew his fan vote was crazy, okay, cool. So in the East, I got Cat, which is one of the bigs. So Jay LaBrunson.
Speaker 1:Correct.
Speaker 2:Jason Tatum.
Speaker 1:Correct.
Speaker 2:Okay, oof. Tatum Correct. Okay, oof. Out of names that I can remember because I was voting for All-Star, I was trying to get Tyrese Halliburton in there. I know he didn't, but I was voting and all the names I kept looking at was like LaMelo. Then I remember Pablo, but Pablo Barcaro was hurt most of the year so I know he should have been in there. All right, tatum Brunson, cat. Who else in the East actually deserves to be an all-star? Giannis Correct. One more left. So it's got to be a guard. Because Tatum. Giannis and Cat, it's got to be a guard. Because Tate Ineanus and Cat, it's got to be a guard. There's two names coming. I'm going to Dane Incorrect Incorrect. I'm Dane Jalen. Jalen Brown Incorrect.
Speaker 1:I feel like they see him more as a forward too, yeah.
Speaker 2:I think he technically, yeah, he do play forward because Derrick White and, yeah, they still, oh, okay, oh Okay, I need a guard. I need a guard in the east. Trae Young.
Speaker 1:Incorrect. I think he might have been snubbed as a starter, but I'm sure he's at reserved.
Speaker 2:If it ain't Young, it ain't Lillard, it ain't Lamello.
Speaker 1:You got to think of the team who has been playing really good in the East, the team who has been playing really good in the East.
Speaker 2:Oh, that was Mitchell, correct.
Speaker 1:Why don't you get all about Cleveland? Ever since LeBron left it kind of forgettable. I'm not going to lie.
Speaker 2:I forgot all about Cleveland Damn.
Speaker 1:So those are your all-star starters in the East Jason Tatum, jalen Brunson and Giannis Kat and shout-out to the 502 Louisville Cardinals. We back, by the way, donovan Mitchell.
Speaker 2:We're going to talk about us being back doing my Super Bowl week that weekend between Okay, Okay, you said okay, so you said Trey Young. You think that's enough?
Speaker 1:Yeah, I think. Yeah, I think. Kay Cunningham, I think he had a case, but I'm sure the Pistons is not that good. Lamelo, I think, definitely think he had a case. Trey Young also, I believe he had a case. But I mean Donnie and Jalen Brunson, they're both on better teams than those teams, so I can understand why they got the startings. I'm a little bit surprised. I shouldn't be, because it probably would have been between you're not Joker, you're not starting this guy over. Joker Probably would have been KD and KD has too much of a name value as of now. But I was thinking. My first thought was maybe Victor could have slid in there somewhere. But I don't see you not taking Joker or KD out. But you talk about Steph. I mean I was thinking about Ant-Man or I mean De'Aaron Fox hasn't been playing that good. He was one of my thoughts but he wasn't playing that good. But Steph was a little bit of a surprise. But name value.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because you see, I was like Luka. So Dallas is, where is Dallas at? Are they ninth? In the West, the Warriors is 11th. Like you said, luka has missed a lot of time. The West I think Steph is the one that I don't know should have been the starter. But you look at it, who would be their other guard? Because they're not going to give it to a rocket. No, I don't think Jai get it. No, it's no. I can't think of his name. Play with your uncle. Murray Murray ain't a. I don't think they would give it to Murray. No, and Norman Powell, he ain't going to score.
Speaker 2:He is a reserve, so I don't know, he might not even get a reserve.
Speaker 1:So it was pretty much stuff. I think it's his name that took over.
Speaker 2:You know the name though Anthony Edwards.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's what I was saying. That's what I thought of was Anthony Edwards. Yeah. I mean he's having a down year compared to last year, but it's still.
Speaker 2:They're eighth in the West. They're better than Steph now, but, like you said, names are into the East First off. I'm sorry, cleveland, let me apologize. I call myself the NBA head. I completely forgot about the Cavaliers, completely forgot. That's my bad. I'm thinking Chicago, I'm thinking Orlando, miami, I'm going through all these guards Cleveland never deemed. I thought of Brooklyn before I thought of Cleveland. I'm sorry, my apologies, my bad, my bad. Donovan Mitchell, I called myself a Louisville fan. I ain't even my bad. The East makes sense. Personally, detroit is sixth in the East. They got a winning record. Compared to what they was last year, though, man, I don't know. I think Cade. Cade should be an all-star at the minimum. He should be an all-star, but I think he could have been a star he deserves some starter mentions.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I agree, but the East is kind of like man, I get it. Yeah, I mean, if you look at the two rosters, I mean if these two teams were playing a serious game, the West, the West and three.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because Cat ain't guarding the Joker Ain't nothing you can do with Steph, ain't nothing they can do with KD or LeBron. So, yeah, it's like it's Shade. Shade is like the only dude who will quietly get 30. Oh yep.
Speaker 2:I think there's no flashiness to it, ain't? No, he ain't doing a bunch of shaking and baking, he ain't ready to fly through the air. But you look up and Shade got 34 points On your scalp, man, you don't know how. Yeah, so yeah, nah, I get it. I get it, but I do think K should be a reserve. I think Trey should be a reserve as well. I don't know about that.
Speaker 1:Also keep in mind. Obviously there is a completely different all-star format. It's basically three different teams. Technically there's going to be somebody as a starter. That was a reserve. Technically Still I mean we got the rules Still not sure how this thing is going to work out. They're bringing in the rookie showcase or the first-year rookie and sophomore game, bringing in the playoffs into this. So it's going to be a little bit interesting seeing how it's going to play out. But technically there's going to be some starters. But obviously they're still going to hold it like they do in the regular. But I mean, I don't have too much grub on getting. Kay Cunningham Probably could have been in this conversation and man, the only other person is Victor Wimbiyama. But you look who the West has. You can't take anybody out just for the sake of it. It's KD or Joker.
Speaker 2:They 12th in the West and they two games below 500. Yeah. So Imagine they over in France this week, this weekend, playing my bases, and they just beat us by 30. By 30. 140 to 110. There was no defense, like, let's be real, bro, they picked Indiana because the NBA picked Indiana to go over, because you know, hey, if you want to get the fans, they want to see a bunch of scoring, that's what we going to do, because us and defense. What is that? You heard me. What is that?
Speaker 1:Straight track me. I mean y'all name is the Pacers I'm trying to out. Straight track me. I mean y'all name is the Pacers I'm trying to outpace these teams.
Speaker 2:I'm saying, though, bro, we gave up 140 points. I'm sorry, it's not about us, I'm sorry. Pascal Z Ockham should be considered. Now it's time to two. Halliburton not so much I understand why, but Pascal, because we're flipping the East now. Pascal, pascal and Miles Turner One of them should get an All-Star selection.
Speaker 1:I was getting ready to ask you but, out of your patience, anybody you feel like should be in on the All-Star reserve team, just them two. So no love for Tyrese, I don't think it's the year for Tyrese.
Speaker 2:I think it's got to be.
Speaker 1:I think it sure is Pascal or Miles Turner, All right all right, but a shout-out to all 10 men for making the All-Star Game Again. The All-Star Game is a little not a little bit, a lot bit different this year. We will see how it plays out and you know, you know your boys is going to talk about it good, bad or ugly after it happens, because you know we're going to watch it and if it's bad, adam Silver, we're going to talk about it. So hey, before we move on to the next topic, you know MLK Day was Monday, it was, and I didn't watch. You know, usually NBA that's their day. I mean, there was talks during after the COVID season that they wanted to start the NBA season on MLK Day. I didn't know if there was even a single game. I mean, I was busy work, came home, did nothing, but was there a game on MLK Day? What happened, man? It was actually a couple days.
Speaker 1:Okay. So what's going on, man, Like this was supposed to be their day.
Speaker 2:I was telling somebody, I was talking to him about it and I was like the two days that the NBA circle is like third days, these are our times. It's Christmas and MLK Day. Neither day felt like their day, and the MLK day one because of the inauguration. Then you also had the college football championship. They kind of got.
Speaker 1:They kind of got you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2:Nobody really paid attention to them on neither day, because even me I came home and I was just chilling bro, I laid across the bed. Attention to him on neither day, because even me I came home and I was just chilling bro, I laid across the bed and then I got up later on I went to the living room, kept the TV on. I'm like, oh, that's all right, it is. In my case it is basketball. So I got to tell Leon of the game but, like I said, it didn't feel this year, didn't feel this year, didn't feel important to the NBA. Normally it feels if MLK Day basketball feels bigger, it didn't feel bigger this year. I don't know if they chose to not try to push it this year or what, but it didn't feel important.
Speaker 1:It didn't. That's another conversation we're going to have. I'm also going to add I'm just going to go ahead and put a little teaser in it Share your thoughts. Maybe you push the season, you know, up two months, the start of two months. Maybe you actually start it on MLK Day. Obviously we'll push it more towards. So I mean you usually start in late October, november, december, january, february, march, april, may, june, that's eight months, instead of finishing in June and finishing late July, early August, if you start in January. Just a thought. Just a thought. We'll talk about that more probably in the summer, but just wanted to float that out there to you, okay.
Speaker 1:Next topic, though we don't talk about MLB much. Mlb season is actually getting ready to come back around there, getting ready to gear up for their spring training, which is good, and you know I'm probably going to be watching a little bit more baseball. I'm probably going to try to hit up the Cincinnati Reds games a couple more this year. But they have their Hall of Fame and MLB takes their Hall of Fame very, very seriously. They make it seem like it's such a prestigious thing. You have to have a certain percentage of votes to get in. You have to have a certain percentage of votes to get in. You're basically only in the pool for a certain amount of time and if you don't get voted in in that certain amount of time while you're in that pool, it's a wrap. We'll talk about that in a little bit, but let's talk about the MIB Hall of Fame class of 2025 first. I'm just going to to say Billy Wagner, I apologize, I'm not familiar with your game. I will be looking you up at a later date, but I will apologize, I'm not familiar, but congratulations to you for being an Hall of Fame.
Speaker 1:The two guys that I do know CeCe Sabathia grew up watching him a little bit. I watched him, especially when he was with the New York Yankees. Pretty good, he was a dog out there, well deserved CeCe Sabathia. One more person who was a super dog Ituril, super dog for the Seattle Manners and, as always, one hater. This is, I, I believe, his first year as a hall of fame, to be in the hall of fame, uh voting system and he was one vote away from being a unanimous hall of famer. Now there's some people that discredit the hall there. It might be hall of fame we'll talk about in a little bit but we know each row got that dog in them. When you saw that there was a hater out there, what was your reaction?
Speaker 2:You said it at the beginning, the baseball writers take this Alabama vote a little too serious for me, because who in they right man ain't voting each row unanimous? But there's a problem. But okay, we said we were going to get into it in a minute because I was about to go on the full rant. I'm going to let you go back to it.
Speaker 1:Sure, I mean we'll go ahead Again. Congratulations to those three Well-deserved Again. Sorry, billy Wagner, not familiar with your game, I will be looking you up though Will be looking you up CC and HRL, but we got to talk about it. Like I said earlier, you're in the voting pool for so many years. If you don't get voted within that time frame or don't get the allotted percentage of votes to become a Hall of Famer, you're cut. You're basically cut from the voting pool. To become a Hall of Famer, you're cut. You're basically cut from the voting pool.
Speaker 1:A person that has been cut from the voting pool and some people see as the greatest hitter of all time the home run leader with 760-something I know 762 was the record that he broke, I'm almost positive. But Barry Bonds, he is not a Hall of Famer and cannot be a Hall of Famer unless somehow they change the rules and re-put him in the pool, which I doubt it, because we know how these baseball people are. They take it serious and they old school. But Barry Bonds not being a Hall of Fame, people discredited him Like if he's not in the Hall of Fame, it's not a real Hall of Fame.
Speaker 1:People say, even if he gets in the Hall of Fame, he will have an asterisk because apparently he was juicing. Even if he gets in the Hall of Fame, he will have an asterisk because apparently he was juicing. I don't believe he's fully said he has been or has not been, but it's out there that apparently he's been juicing. Barry Barnes is not in the Hall of Fame and maybe never will be in the Hall of Fame. Do you see that the Hall of Fame is credible without him in there?
Speaker 2:No, I mean, it's a steroid error. Let me take it back. A lot of these players was juicing. All these players took steroids. You can't exclude them because you, at doing this error, you don't know who was juicing and who wasn't. You're just basing it off of who came, who got snitched on, who got ratted on. Some of these people might have been juicing this whole entire time. You never knew it. I think that's a joke. The record is 762. That's what he got. He got 762 and he got 71 in the season. He's the all-time home runs leader and the home run record holder for a season, and you don't want to put that man in.
Speaker 2:Cool, Even if you want to put an asterisk next to his name. That man deserves to be in. But it goes back to what I was saying earlier these Hall of Fame writers is taking their job a little too serious.
Speaker 1:But yeah, it's kind of ridiculous. I mean, like I said, most of them was juicing at the time Like if everybody's doing it, is it really a competitive advantage? So I don't know. I agree I grew up catching Barry Bonds in his later years, when he was a little heavier and just doing nothing but hitting dingers out of the San Francisco Giants ballpark and I actually was watching the game that he broke the record. It was an historical moment to actually win the stat and the fact that he is not in the Hall of Fame is a disgrace to the MLB. They fall Hall of Fame. So, oh man, I don't even know how to know what to say about all that. It's just ridiculous.
Speaker 2:It's a joke. Go ahead. Can I get on my little rant real quick? Go ahead, go ahead. All right, man. So I wanted to look it up. There has been one unanimous player on their first year on the ballot. It's only been one, something that had never happened until 2019.
Speaker 1:That person is Manu Rerver, he's another one Should be a. He definitely should have been.
Speaker 2:First ballot 425 out of 425. He's the only one. I'm going to read you off some of these names. That was not unanimous. We just talked about Ichiro. Should have been unanimous, right yeah, derek.
Speaker 1:Jeter. I remember the blasphemous when that shit came out, because he definitely should have been unanimous 396 of 397.
Speaker 2:So it was one hater. Just like with Ichiro. Ken Griffey Jr, he was missing three votes. You telling me it's three people hater, just like with each of them. Cool, ken Griffey Jr, he was missing three votes. You telling me it's three people who didn't think Ken Griffey Jr was unanimous Decision. But yeah, forget, unanimous, it was three people who said, nah, I'm not going to put him in. Okay, cool, cool. Tom Sawyer. Tom Seaver when you listen to people talk about about baseball, you hear that name a lot. Here's another name you hear a lot Nolan Ryan. Man, it was six people that said, nah, you shouldn't be a Hall of Famer. Cal Ripken Jr these names.
Speaker 1:You hear them a lot. When you just watch the baseball game, you'll hear that name. You'll play MLB the show, you'll hear that name.
Speaker 2:I'm trying to figure it out. Okay, cool, his own field is one thing, but you hear that man call a game and you can still be like even though I know it's not included, but still you can hear that man call a game and be like nah man, you shouldn't be in. Cool, you ever hear that man call a game? They be like nah man, you shouldn't be in. Who Ty Cobb, another name that you hear all the time, george Brett, a name I remember because he played for the Phillies. I won't say he played for the Phillies, Either the Phillies or the Dodgers, one of them. And here's the last one, and this one, this one is this one's pissing me off. I watch baseball because of Ken Griffey Jr.
Speaker 2:Hell, I got my hat on back right now because of Ken Griffey Jr, but this one right here gets up under my skin more than Ken Griffey Jr Hank Ehrman.
Speaker 1:Oh man.
Speaker 2:What are we talking about? He got 406 out of 415. So it was nine people Nine that said Hank Aaron at the time, who was the home run record holder at that time, before Barnes came together. You telling me that man ain't a, ain't a Hall of Famer. There's nine people who said Hank Aaron shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame. It's a joke, it's a joke, and that's why we can't take the baseball Hall of Famer out of service we can't out of all them ten names.
Speaker 2:All of them should have been unanimous. It's nobody on that list who deserved not to get every single vote.
Speaker 1:The fact that it's only one person. I mean, is it God?
Speaker 2:Mon Rivera, the closer I get it.
Speaker 1:I get it Well earned, well deserved, but damn.
Speaker 2:Aaron, come on, bro. What are we talking about? Hell dude you. The same baseball after the whole steroid era. We're doing the steroid era and half complete. All right, man, we can't be serious dog. We can't. We can't be serious dog.
Speaker 1:Looking at the ballot Hold on.
Speaker 2:I got two more names, two more Tony Gwynn and.
Speaker 1:Randy.
Speaker 2:Johnson.
Speaker 1:Randy.
Speaker 2:Johnson, chippa Jones. And Chippa Jones, I don't know Hell, Babe Ruth was only a 95.1%. Damn.
Speaker 1:That%? Damn, that's ridiculous. I'm looking at the 2025 Hall of Fame voting ballot. Just some of the names that obviously didn't get picked, some of them, unfortunately. Biggest name that stands out to me and I mean, I don't know how long he's been on the ballot, but he's got to get in there soon Alex Rodriguez, a-rod. He didn't get in there, huh, he didn't get in there.
Speaker 1:He didn't, but I'm looking at the voting. I'm looking at the, not the voting, but there's a list of people that they voted for. I'm just looking at people that didn't make it. Alex Rodriguez didn't make it, His name stood out. Felix Hernandez his name stood out and Carlos Beltran his name out and Manny Ramirez there's a couple people out there I can see.
Speaker 2:They're not going to get in because a lot of them is related it's connected to steroids.
Speaker 1:So ain't nothing them getting in. Chase Utley also was on the list, Not on this list, but apparently he's coming up real, real soon to start his cycle. Albert Polos Probably not unanimous, because obviously that's seemingly hard to do in MLB but he should definitely get in that first try.
Speaker 1:We'll get there. We'll talk a little bit more about baseball as it's coming along. I'm going to try to hit a couple more games. Y'all need to get y'all voting. Y'all need to get y'all Hall of Fame, right, man? But it's ridiculous, it's just. I don't even know what to say. But let me move on before I get mad, because I'm still mad about Hank Aaron.
Speaker 2:Hank's dog, hank's bird I Hank.
Speaker 1:Aaron Hank dog. Hey, kurt, ridiculous Saturday Night Live. I don't know the number because it's not the second one. There's because they're continuing on from what they've done in the past. Well, second one in the recent time. Yeah, second one in recent times.
Speaker 2:Third night main event not live, not the comedy show. Yeah.
Speaker 1:You're right, saturday night main event.
Speaker 2:Do y'all really have these people talking and looking at the comedy show?
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm tripping. So another one second one in here in recent times is coming. I believe it's in Houston, no, san Antonio, it's in San Antonio, nothing really special, I mean, I think it's in San Antonio, nothing really special. I mean I think it's kind of silly that they're doing this when the Royal Rumble is literally next week. Kind of makes these things a little bit predictable. But we're not going to predict the card, we're just going to go ahead and go through it a little bit.
Speaker 1:Gunther versus Jey Uso I mean Gunther's going to win it. Ron Baker versus Sheamus I think this is just kicking off the Will Sheamus get the IC title? Really nice storyline. So it'll probably be Braun Raker. Probably the most match I'm more interested in is Braun Strowman versus Jacob Vartu. We'll see what type of destruction those two make on Saturday Night Main Event. Rhea Ripley versus Nia Jax. They just put this feud in the microwave and said put it on one, heat it up real quick. This is just a put on the card, nothing special, probably Real. Ripley will win. And they're also signing a contract KO and Kevin Owens for their match at Ron Rumble. So nothing special. Honestly don't know if I will at Rumble. So nothing special. I honestly don't know if I will be watching it, because it's nothing special. At least hopefully I can catch the Braun Strowman-Jacob Fatu match. Other than that, I don't know what. About you? Q, you want to check it out?
Speaker 2:Probably. Probably, because it ain't a lot Depends on what college basketball game it's on. If I remember right, auburn and Tennessee's playing Saturday, but I can't remember the time. So if Auburn and Tennessee's on, no, and let's be real, like you said, it's predictable. We know Jay ain't about to win. Quit putting Jay in these world title matches and y'all ain't letting that man cook Jay's over. Get that man in the championship. I don't know Like what we doing, but you know he ain't gonna win. You know, rhea and Nia, that's just we're gonna put something in there. What they should've did because I thought what they was gonna do was do the Chelsea versus Mia rematch. They didn't do that. That's what they should have did. They actually made it like a hardcore match because them two get busy. That's what they should have did instead of this real night.
Speaker 1:They needed some women on the card, which obviously you should have women on the card. They've been cooking. You could have did something better than this. A few of this actually going on. You don't have to put this in the microwave and sit here.
Speaker 2:This wasn't it. Like you said, jacob and Braun. You know Jacob's going to win because they're not going to let Jacob lose, but, like you said, this match better. This is the match everybody's looking for, so this match better. This is the match everybody's looking for, so this match better deliver. Can Braun deliver? It's the question, because we feel like, looking at it, we feel like Jacob's going to deliver, but can Strowman deliver? It's the question.
Speaker 1:Yeah, no, strowman. He's had good matches, I've heard recently, since he's got some bad knees. He can't do it like he did earlier, especially when he was a few in the Roman Reigns when he was first brought up to the main roster, but I'm sure Jacob Fatu can help him out and get him another good match. I'm just expecting a destruction, a car crash, and Jacob Fatu to come out of this match.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you're right, I give it to him. Lebron has been performing well to come out of this match. Yeah, you're right, I give it to him. Braun has been performing well, him and Tsunami dude, bronson Reed, him and Bronson Reed they put on. He got the potential to do it but again, like I said, that match got a little bit because that's the best match on the card. You put Rhea on the card because she didn't even stop that one but, like I said, I wouldn't wait.
Speaker 1:You know the other route, but it is what it is it is what it is, but uh, again, saturday night. Saturday night main event this Saturday Royal Rumble is next week we'll be back to our prediction, which I'm sure is not too many matches on the card, but that Royal Rumble match is gonna be hard to predict, men and women's side.
Speaker 2:So I'll be right excited it's two in a championship match.
Speaker 1:Yep, and Royal Rumble is actually not too far from us. Look at them ticket prices. I'm going to be attending, but I do know a couple people that's going, so hopefully they enjoy it. I'm not attending that. I like my coins. Before I move on, though, there is rumors that WrestleMania might become the Indianapolis. I also would not be attending that, because I saw them taking prices for this year's and it's getting to the point where it's like the Super Bowl, so I do think it's cool, though. What's your thoughts on this? Wrestlemania might be coming to Indianapolis.
Speaker 2:Well, they said the contrary. So they're going to get a Royal Rumble, they're going to get a WrestleMania, and they're going to get a Royal Rumble. They're going to get a WrestleMania and they're going to get a SummerSlam. They're going to get all three over a time frame. But, like you said, I ain't going because the tickets is going to be Stop it. That's what the tickets is. I'm going to look at the tickets and be let's stop, that's not what we just saw.
Speaker 1:I saw 700 for nosebleeds. I'm going to go ahead and just watch it on Peacock.
Speaker 2:I think it'll come down, but I'll it might come down to like three. I mean I still ain't going.
Speaker 1:I ain't going to pay that much for nosebleeds.
Speaker 2:I still ain't going, but I'm saying, you know, but we'll get there when we get there.
Speaker 1:And some congratulations in order. The Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to become the winner of the inaugural 12-team playoffs. Funny how things work, as Ohio State was the inaugural four-team playoff winners as well. But the 12-team playoffs is in the book. We did tell you guys and obviously we're going to talk about it a little bit more, but hit you guys with a little sprinkle of it what are your thoughts on the full 12-team playoffs and where do you think it ranks at among all these playoffs we got?
Speaker 2:NCAA is still number one, without question. I think I would put NBA NFL two or three. I don't know whether or not NBA NFL. I'll put this at four. I think I'll put it at four for now. We'll see how my Indiana people do. The WNBA might slide up above this. I think they're going to have to tweak this. They're going to have to do some things differently. They're going to have to tweak this. They're going to have to do some things differently. They're going to have to do. I'm not, I'm going to go ahead and go.
Speaker 2:A lot of people are talking about how they think they should have home games through the first two rounds. I don't necessarily agree with that. I do believe, though. I believe what the conference champions should get. I mean, their reward should be a home game. That's what should be guaranteed, not a bad. They should be guaranteed a bad, but they should be guaranteed a home game.
Speaker 2:So you still rank them in the order in which they go, but the conference champions get a back If they play the first weekend. I mean the conference champions should get a home game. So if they play the first weekend, they get a home game, even if they play the second weekend on the back, and I know it's supposed to be a bowl game. No, they should get a home game. They're too tied to these bowl games. Listen them. Bowl game days is over. If you want to change around the cities for the national championships and the semifinals and let them be the bowl games, cool, I'm cool with that. But as far as like them, first two rounds. If it's Kyle the bowl games, kyle the bowl games.
Speaker 1:I agree with you, man, first two rounds. I want them to be at home campus. These bowl games, it's done for man, nobody really cares about the bowl games. I was talking to some people in the middle of the season. It got to the point where it looked like Louisville wasn't going to the 12-3 playoffs and I said, man, I don't really care, I just hope these boys go to a nice bowl game with some nice weather and they get a bunch of free shit Shout out to them. That's what I wanted for them.
Speaker 1:The only I mean it's kind of funny now the only bowl game that has any substance now, where people even care about that much and it's because of the marketing they've done behind it is the Prop Tower Bowl. Outside of that bowl game, I don't know if I care about no other bowls. I mean, obviously people care about the Rose Bowl. We want to say the other one is the Rose Bowl, those are in the playoffs. You know, if somehow some they become games that's not played in the playoffs, maybe people care about them a little bit more. But outside of those games, that's in the playoffs, those bowl games, that's in the playoffs. Pop-tart Bowl is the biggest bowl around to me it is Like you said.
Speaker 2:That's how I'm marketing it. And let's be fair the Fiesta, the Orange, the Cotton, they don't really check it, but them Bows neither. The only one they check for is the Rose Bowl.
Speaker 1:All right, rose Bowl. That's it For real.
Speaker 2:So I think in a perfect world, the Rose Bowl will be the championship game, or at least the semifinal, every year, but that means it will have to be playing on the first. So they would have to change the whole college football schedule, which they need to do, by the way, because if you're in the playoffs, your first game shouldn't be in late December. Cool, y'all should be, like you know, first second week of December If you're in the playoffs. That's my perspective. They need to change the whole football schedule Also this is a sad note, I know we weren't going to get into it too deep, but the transfer portal, yeah, you should only have one in the summer, not in December.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's a lot going on. It's a lot, we will get to that. Something I also will add I know a lot going on, it's a lot, we will get to that. Um, something I also add I know a lot of people talk about the rose bowl should be the permanent national championship game. I disagree with that. Uh, I'll elaborate more later, but I pretty much don't think any, any location, any sport should be a permanent national championship game. Logistically I don't think it's fair. For a lot of teams, sucla's home field is not fair for, obviously, rutgers. They might not make it, but Rutgers and New Jersey they got to go there. I think it should just filter around to other places. I feel that about all sports I'm talking to you baseball, you always want to have it in Omaha, nebraska, for some reason. And also talking to you, track, you always want to have your national track meet in Eugene, oregon. So yeah, disagree, but we can talk more about that at a later date.
Speaker 1:Something we can talk about now the MVP race of the NFL. Walton has been in there. There was a big game last week. It does has no bearing on who is the MVP, but it may affect some people's thoughts afterwards depending on who gets it. Lamar Jackson is the betting favorite. Me personally, I will like Swaycon Barkley to win it. Lamar Jackson is the betting favorite. Me personally, I would like Sui Kwan Barkley to win it. He's not, but I ain't mad that Lamar Jackson is a potential three-time MVP winner.
Speaker 2:Y'all getting a love to Jerry Goff. Y'all getting a love to Burrow.
Speaker 1:It's a three-man race. It's Josh three-man race. It's Josh Allen, lamar, jackson and Saquon. I was on the Jared Goff train for a little bit but he snuck it up towards the end and he really snuck it up in the playoffs, even though that doesn't matter, but it's three men. At the end of the season it was three men Saquon Barkley, josh Allen and Lamar. At the end of the season it was three men.
Speaker 2:Saquon Barkley, josh Allen and Lamar. So you know. What killed it for me, though, was the all-pro voting. Lamar was QB one. Well, the QB with such a wide margin that you kind of already see that people are just leaning towards Lamar. So now it don't really feel as suspenseful, it just feels like, you know, lamar got a third.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:I wish they could have released that later. I mean, I'm glad Burrow and Golfy got considered.
Speaker 1:I just wanted to make sure they get their shout out, because they also on the board, as well as finalists.
Speaker 2:Even though, like you said, we know it was a three-horse race, like we did with the Haslam. We know it was a two-horse race, but the other dudes, they was there.
Speaker 1:You know they just enjoyed the festivities.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but now I think, I mean, I think it's Lamar, but we knew it was Lamar. That's what I question. We knew it was Lamar because he had he won MVP last year and he put up. You can make a case for Josh Allen, yeah, but you can make a case for Barkley as well. What? What I think is going to hurt Barkley is the fact that he didn't get that record.
Speaker 1:Man, if he would have got that record, he probably could have had it, but Nick Cerrone didn't want him to get it, I guess.
Speaker 2:And then seeing him run in the playoffs this past weekend, he would have got that thing. He would have got that in the first half. Hell, he probably would have gotten it in the first half.
Speaker 1:He's in his bag right now With that offensive line. He in his bag Because he ain't getting touched.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he can't touch 12 yards down the field. And look, sometimes you know what he can't touch by the earth, he can't touch by the air, he can't touch by the end zone. That's what he can't touch by.
Speaker 1:The grass is in the end zone and he don't get touched by another human until he heads to the sideline after he scores a touchdown. I don't know what you're saying Facts, but yeah, it's looking like it's Lamar. Congratulations on Lamar. I know he's probably not feeling the best considering how that game went. So I mean, I'm sure you watched it.
Speaker 2:Hold on, can I ask you a question? Go ahead. Offensive player of the year. It's a lot of the same names, but of course it's Derrick Henry's in there, lamar's in there, barkley's in there. Jamar Chase is in there. It's Barkley, burrow Chase, derrick Henry and Jackson. Who do you think should win that? Because I don't think Lamar should win that if he gets the MVP, he's not.
Speaker 1:They usually don't give the MVP to the. Give that award to the MVP as well. That one I do know it gets hard, though I do know. I was basically like, hey, Saquon probably should be the MVP. I guess I'm going to lean towards Saquon. But man, triple crowns don't just happen, they just don't come from trees.
Speaker 2:Dog? I don't. I think the offensive player here is a harder decision than the MVP. Yeah, because you can make a case. I don't personally. You know I love Dirk because he played at Tennessee. You know that's my squad. I take Dirk out. You could make a case for the rest of the four. You could make a case for Dirk, but his case ain't as good as the other four. But if you take Lamar out, like I said, because typically you don't give it to the MVP, you probably shouldn't. So you got two dudes on the same team. But then you look at Burrow and Chase. Do they counsel each other out Because they're on the same team? Because some of those numbers Burrow got because of Chase and Chase got his numbers because Burrow was throwing the ball. The Saquon win is about to fall.
Speaker 1:It'll probably go to Saquon, but as a former receiver them Triple Crowns don't just fall out of the sky. It's the third one in 25 years, God. Hold on Hold on If I was a voter for that. I'm looking at them too, names I'm just looking. I'll probably be sitting in that booth for about 30 minutes just looking at them, hoping the pencil writes itself so I don't have to do it.
Speaker 2:I don't even know if I would turn that one in. I think I would just feel like the rest of them and then look at that one and just be like, slide it in. They're going to be like who'd you pick? You ain't do nothing. Yeah, y'all just fill it in for me. Whoever y'all can go ahead. Okay, cool, honestly, I do not know who you pick. And defensive player of the year like, honestly, it's hard too.
Speaker 2:But you know I'm going to go with Mal's third, just because Don't pass our tens in that conversation Mal.
Speaker 1:That's why I said it's hard too. I said it's hard too, it's tough. It's tough. I don't know who I would. Yeah, it's tough. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know if I had a strong year or two, man, I don't know. I would love to have a vote one year. I would love to become a voter. But damn, sometimes I'm glad I'm not. This is one year. I'm glad I'm not a voter.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Trey Hendrickson.
Speaker 1:For the Cincinnati Bengals. Golly, they had a good season. Everyone saw the record.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but their defense gave up like 50 points. So how you like, I know he, you know what I'm saying. He led the NFL with 17 and a half seconds.
Speaker 1:But the rest of the, you can't give it to him. You can't give it to him because the defense is horrible.
Speaker 2:That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1:The rest of your defense.
Speaker 2:I don't know about that one, but I'll be looking for reasons to say it on Cincinnati anyway, you know so.
Speaker 1:So, as Captain Haters hates on Cincinnati, before we get to the final four we got to talk about how the B ravens game ended. Started out with a couple turnovers by lamar, but they fought their way back and with a minute 33 left, the ravens went for a two-point conversion. It hit mark andrews right in the hands and he dropped it. Now, uh, before before I let you get your thoughts, I'm just going to go ahead and say it. Even if he had caught that, I believe a minute 33 left, three timeouts. Josh Allen was going down and getting that field goal. Just wanted to point that out, but I'm sure you watched the game. I know I felt bad for Mark.
Speaker 2:I felt bad for Mark, but like Lamar said on the sideline, it's a team game. The defense played good, but they didn't play great. Josh Allen didn't play great either. So I guess you would say the defense, he just did enough. Yeah. So you know, maybe the defense could have done a little more. Derrick Henry dropped a pass. That was cool. Mark dropped a couple and fumbled one. Lamar fumbled one and threw an interception that was kind of like what you doing where was you going with that, bro?
Speaker 2:so it's a team game. Everybody could have done better. It's not Marcus' fault. Honestly, you know me. I love Lamar, but can we be real for a minute? The pass was good, but it wasn't the greatest pass neither.
Speaker 1:To be fair it wasn't, but it was a catchable pass. Yeah, it was a catchable pass. Neither, to be fair. It wasn't, but it was a catchable pass.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it was a catchable, but can we be fair though, it wasn't the greatest pass, especially in that weather, you can't really blame them. A good pass is even hard. A good pass is even hard. A good pass is hard in those conditions. So it's not. You need a great pass in those conditions, not a good one. And they, you know they had some penalties and stuff. Baltimore did Baltimore things, if we're being honest the. Baltimore Ravens did Baltimore things. If we're being honest, the Baltimore Ravens did Baltimore things in that football game.
Speaker 1:They just fumbled that away, man it's not it's not all Andrew's fault.
Speaker 1:It's a team game, like Lamar said yeah, it was a team game, but I do want to give a shout out to Bills fans, the Bills Mafia apparently it's not the first time they do this. Anytime a player gets injured or something, they donate like a shit ton of money to whatever foundation they have. The Bills Mafia basically donated like $50,000 to Mark Andrews Foundation, which is a classy move. I've heard that Bills fans they do that Like if a player got hurt during one of their games, they'll donate to their foundations. Bills, y'all classy. I mean, I just know y'all be jumping through tables and stuff.
Speaker 2:It's like we talking about the same man that be jumping through the tables.
Speaker 1:Yes, so yeah, classy moves by the Bills, but y'all get that boogeyman next week. But before we go to that one, let's go to the NFC Commanders and Eagles. What you got, how you feeling.
Speaker 2:I'm feeling like can a rookie really carry his team to the Super Bowl?
Speaker 1:Dan, I'm feeling like the Eagles is Saquon and Saquon. Jalen Hurts doesn't look like himself. Can he carry them to the Super Bowl? Doesn't look like himself. Can he carry them to the Super Bowl with a hobbled Jalen Hurts who has not been willing to pass the ball? It seems like Jalen Hurts is not. He is really being cautious about really not trying to put the ball in the horn's way, which is good, but he's just. He's missing wide open people and he's not willing to run because I'm assuming he's hurt. So they're basically out there with half of a quarterback out there, which Jalen Hurts is still a good quarterback. He don't look the same.
Speaker 2:But Jalen Hurts. If you're looking at Jalen Hurts' career, Jalen Hurts was never the I'm going to slice you up in 400 passing yards, Ain't his game. And then they changed the rules, like not last year but the previous year where he was getting a lot of his passing off the run, play up and the run pass option.
Speaker 2:They changed the rules as to where the offensive line can't be 50 yards downfield, so he definitely ain't been the same since then. But I go back to Ken Jayden. There he was really carrying his team to the Super Bowl. Can a rookie do it? And hell, he's carrying the Washington Commanders.
Speaker 1:Yep.
Speaker 2:The only bigger joke than him in football is the Browns.
Speaker 1:Yeah, the Washington Commanders.
Speaker 2:Over the past couple years.
Speaker 1:They had like a pipe burst, like they've had sewer issues, bathroom issues, seats falling apart. I mean when Dan Snyder was their owner, that was a joke. They got rid of him. Look at him, became a confident franchise.
Speaker 2:Everything's all right. I got a fit right. I want the commanders to pick. All right, I want the commanders to win. But the thing I will say is Philly do got a good defense. Philly got a good defense, and we already talked about Saquon being an offensive player of the year. So I'm going to go with Philly, but I'm telling you, I want the commanders to win, but I'm going with Philly. I'm going with Philly.
Speaker 1:I'm going with the commanders, especially if Jalen Hurts he seems hurt. He hurt his knee, If he's not able to run, really get him on that read option. If the commanders just have to commit to Saquon, there's no chance that they can pull that off. Jalen Hurts is going to have to pull a rabbit out the head or something. You got to actually do some voodoo on that knee or something and actually show up Because you can't what you was against the Rams in the second half. You can't be in a full game with the Commanders and let's be honest, if that was the weather condition, the Rams would have dog walked the Eagles.
Speaker 2:From my perspective, Now, you right when you right, you right when you right.
Speaker 1:So, jalen Hurst, you got to show up. You got to be in that ice tub every day until Sunday and get that knee right, because you can't be 75% out there, like you was against the Rams. They play in cold weather too, so they'll be ready.
Speaker 2:It's really. I'm looking at what the weather's going to be like this weekend, because they play in the same division. They're right up, right behind each other, yeah, so I don't think it's supposed to snow no more, but I don't know.
Speaker 1:If it does like I said, they play in the same condition. I don't know if this game is before or after this AFC is last.
Speaker 1:AFC is last, so it is the main event. It was the main event in my heart anyways. Bill Sheese, mahomes Allen Mahomes is 3-0 against Josh Allen. He pretty much owns the Bills, even if it just takes him 13 seconds to do it, and I'm just going to go ahead and say it I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got. Patrick Mahomes I don't know. I feel like Josh Allen is going to look on that sideline see number 15 in red and be like I got to beat Superman and he's going to try to do too much.
Speaker 2:So I got Patrick Mahomes. I got them too. Until you beat the the team, I'm going to go with the team until you beat the man.
Speaker 2:You know what I'm saying. I got to go with the man, but I disagree, though. I think Josh Allen is going to ball out. I think Josh Allen is going to ball his ass out. I just think Patrick Mahomes is going to do more. We've seen Travis Kelsey. Where was this? All his ass hell. I just think Patrick Mahomes is going to do more. Just a little heartbreak. We seen Travis Kelsey. Where was this? Just Travis Kelsey. Travis Kelsey, out here like man.
Speaker 1:He turned the clock back. He took the whole regular season off.
Speaker 2:I'm not taking this seriously. Look, y'all know what it is with me. Look y'all know what it is with me. Holler at me and J Y'all know what it is and that's what he did and we hollering at him now. So yeah, I'm going to go with Kansas City and since I might beat Kansas City, I'm going with Kansas.
Speaker 1:City. And keep in mind the Bills and Chiefs did play in the regular season. The Bills did win. When I made that pick I said whoever wins this game is going to win the rematch in the playoffs. So I'm just going to keep that and say the Chiefs is going to win the rematch.
Speaker 2:And it's in Arrowhead.
Speaker 1:I don't know. Paxman Holmes is the boogeyman, especially to Josh Allison. I got to go with Paxman Holmes again. I'm looking forward to it. Sunday should be fun, it should be. It's going to be a good day in football. Oh, that'll do it for another episode of. From my Perspective, it's the hater section. You got anything to hate on before we get out here? Q.
Speaker 2:Indiana Pacers don't play no damn defense.
Speaker 1:I know.
Speaker 2:I'm sorry I already talked about that earlier, but it just reminded me. We lost about 30 points. Yeah, I were bad. We lost about 30 points. Yeah, I get we in France, but 140? Lost about 30 and you allowed 140 points. That dope, stop somebody.
Speaker 1:Usually if you tell, usually if a team, if you said a team put up 110, oh, they won, right yeah.
Speaker 2:Not Indiana, Not Indiana, Not Indiana. This ain't a hater thing. I'm going to check out a route. You know 303 women's basketball. I'm going to check that out.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I'm going to have to check that out as well. I guess we have something else to talk about next week. Jerry Jones, dallas Cowboys, hire somebody. Yes, I'm going to go. We still ain't got a coach. Hire somebody. Y'all know y'all want to hire Kelly Moore. I'm sure, obviously, y'all can't do it yet, but just hire Kelly Moore. That's who y'all want. Jerry Jones wants a yes man H. Hi Kelly Moore.
Speaker 1:They didn't even look at Aaron Glenn or Ben Johnson. It's cool, though it's cool, it is whatever. Do what you do, jerry. Again, that's it from my perspective. Please like, please subscribe. Please check out all that's going on in the Mixed Vibe Media Umbrella, what we got going on Q.
