Welcome, welcome, welcome to another episode of From my Perspective Review Edition, as we're here to review the great 2025 Royal Rumble. I'm your boy, dion, and you know I'm always joined by the co-host. The man, the myth, the legend. Captain Hate Himself. Q how you doing?
Speaker 2:Man, you already know the bass, it's your boy, mr Bill aka. Your name. How you doing? Man, you already know the bass, it's your boy, mr Bill AKA. Say your name upon the spot, might not put you to my.
Speaker 1:We also got. I can't even call him a guest anymore. He knows where the juice is. He knows he's got to take his shoes off when he goes in the living room, like he's no longer Back again. He loves to talk about his wrestling and you know CM Punk had a pretty good, pretty prominent spot in the Royal Rumble, so definitely had to talk about it. That and another reason why he's here. My man had boots on the ground up there in Indianapolis. He was there for the Royal Rumble, experiencing it live. So how are you doing today, chris?
Speaker 3:I'm doing good. I can't remember if this is the first podcast that I've done with you all in 2025.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's definitely the first. This is actually our first well, our second WWW. We talked about some Saturday Night Night main events, but we did the Royal Rumble preview. Then we're doing the review. So, yeah, this is the first one for 2025.
Speaker 3:Okay, got you, because every day feels the same.
Speaker 1:These days.
Speaker 3:It's been a long year already, so I was trying to remember the last time I was on here.
Speaker 2:It feels like it's been 360 already and it's only been 30.
Speaker 3:Exactly Might be back.
Speaker 1:Before we get into the actual review of the show. Like I said, chris, he had boots to ground up there in Indianapolis. I was. I did like last minute, thought about maybe going up there, but them tickets was outrageous for a last minute and I didn't want to do it or make that drive. But Chris, you was up there. Tell us how it was. How did you enjoy it? How was your seats being in such an interactive event, a WWE event like the Royal Rumble? Obviously you do the countdown and I really want to know, with some of the pops on, you hear the pops on TV. I want to know which one to you seemed like the loudest.
Speaker 3:Well, I mean to start off, it was really great. Got down there on friday and did the uh super stores the team store that they have got some merchandise. Uh got to meet ray mysterio. That was pretty cool.
Speaker 3:He's really tiny, I'm standing next to him makes me look like a giant, um, although I'm not that tall myself. But uh, it was great. My seats I was on the floor. I obviously wasn't front row. On paper they looked okay, it was a decent view. I don't know if I'll do floor seats again, but it was still fun. The crowd was really hyped. I think it was 65,000 they announced. It was really great being there. You know, as a lifelong wrestling fan, those are kind of things that you dream of doing is attending a live rumble and potentially attending a wrestlemania someday. So really shout out to indianapolis for putting together one hell of a atmosphere, a great event. Um, in terms of reactions, it's got to be Alexa Bliss. By far Nobody matched the pop that she got. I mean, I don't know how it sounded on TV, but it was thunderous in the Lucas Oil.
Speaker 1:Well, I will say, on TV it seemed like she got the loudest pop Just from TV and then obviously I was live-tweeting it. It seemed like from Twitter it seemed like that was the loudest pop as well, but I think she's probably the biggest surprise. There's a few people that I thought that was going to be there. That wasn't, but she was probably the big surprise out of both Roman matches, men or women.
Speaker 3:Yeah, and I'll also add that AJ Styles got a really good reception and even I Show Speed had some love from.
Speaker 1:Indianapolis well, we'll talk about that one in a little bit, but let's go ahead and get into the review. Go ahead and get um. I did call it a piss break match on the preview show um, Motor City Machine Guns and DIY. I low-key, apologize for my disrespect. The match was pretty good. Two out of three falls match. They did their thing. Me and Q both said it was going to be a good match. All four competitors were very talented. It did end with a little bit of a oh man. The Street Profits came out, basically causing distraction, allowing DIY to keep the titles. Then Street Profits beat up DIY and beat up Motor City Machine Gun and DIY showed their dominance, held up the titles, basically stating their purpose they want the titles. But as a whole, how did you guys feel about the match? Go ahead and start out with you, Q.
Speaker 2:We knew the match was going to be good, because I love my great performance, but I did feel, going into it it was probably well, not probably. It was the most least, the least match I was least looking forward to no shade. No shade to the performance. I just wasn't looking forward to this match because I feel like they microwaved the tag team, the tag team division. It's like they're forcing it down our throats and we ain't really quite get there yet. That being said, match is good. I did like that. The Street Profits came out and cost a match and the reason I liked it is because it doesn't make neither team look bad, because neither team actually took a pin. But they didn't lose. They lost by a technicality and I won't heal Street Profits. Even if Bobby Lashley ain't there, I won't heal Street Profits, hell. I won't B-Fab to be at Hill too, but I know she on her baby face stuff right now, but the way they present her she could turn Hill any minute.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you're right. You're right, Chris. What was your thoughts on that? Two out of three matches that you saw live. How did you feel about it?
Speaker 3:Well, you know, being there live, you could definitely tell that the momentum from the crowd was kind of shifted a little bit. That match was the buffer match. That match was there for a reason. It was there to calm the fans down after an hour-long women's Royal Rumble.
Speaker 3:I'll say this a lot of the fans weren't really standing for that tag team match, Not taking credit away from Motor City and DIY, but just with a stacked card like that. I just felt like it was there just to calm the folks down. But I mean, I enjoyed it. It served its purpose. I'm intrigued to see what Street Profits are going to do. I think it's somewhat of fresh air for the tag team division. I feel like we haven't really seen much from them lately, so it should make for a good story coming up.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we'll see. They'll probably do it at WrestleMania, probably some type of ladder match or multi-man tag match. That's probably something they'll do. I could see the Street Profits maybe getting tag titles at WrestleMania. We will see about that.
Speaker 2:What do you think of an elimination chamber match?
Speaker 3:That'd be interesting.
Speaker 1:It would be different.
Speaker 2:I think that's what it is.
Speaker 1:It would be nice they're not going to do it. They already have two elimination chamber matches. They do.
Speaker 2:Make it three and call it a day.
Speaker 1:I mean I wish you a day. I mean, hey, I, I want you when you're right. I want you when you're right. Q. Speaking of one of the eliminations in the match, looks like it's probably going to be for the WWE Undisputed title which was on the line. They had the Wing Eagle title and the current WWE title hanging in the air as Cody Rose defeated Kevin Owens in what was a stellar match. They took some nasty bumps. I felt some of those from my house and that last one that Alabama Slam threw the ladder. That looked like it hurt like hell. But Kevin Owens is a madman. But Cody Rhodes came out the victor Again, stellar match, Pretty much. Like I said, crazy spots. But Cody Rhodes is going to have that title going into WrestleMania. And if you watch Monday Night Raw, looks like KO is about to shift his focus to his old frenemy best friend turned enemy once again the Sami Zayn. Chris, I'm going to start out with you this time. What was your thoughts on that stellar ladder match from Cody and KO?
Speaker 3:Oh, it was nasty, absolutely disgusting. It was probably one of the better ladder matches I've seen in quite some time. But I'll tell you what that match really my big takeaway from it is. I want to see a heel Cody Rhodes. I kind of saw a glimpse of it on the go home Monday Night Raw when him and CM Punk were standing in the ring together. But that's my takeaway. I think he needs to turn heel because that visual of him standing over Kevin Owens, that's such a heel move in my opinion.
Speaker 1:Well, let's put a little small pin in that. We'll get to that in just a little bit after we talk about the Royal Rumble. I got some thoughts about that.
Speaker 3:Okay.
Speaker 1:But yeah, anything else about that match.
Speaker 3:No, I mean it was great Curious to see where they go next after this.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we'll talk about that, I think, because I have a strong idea of who's going to be facing him. Like I said earlier thinking that that would be a stellar move to do at WrestleMania, if it happens. Q your thoughts on that nasty ladder match man that match was incredible.
Speaker 2:And Kevin Owens I said it a couple also in that nasty ladder match. And that match was incredible. And Kevin Owens, I said it a couple of times ago. I know he wasn't going to win, but that man deserves so much credit and respect. He put on a show, kevin Owens put on a show. And not only did he put on a show, he sold it. At the end he didn't show up to Monday Night with a black eye. He sold that match. He made that. Kevin Owens made that story what it was.
Speaker 2:Kevin Owens does not get enough credit. They said he hasn't had a singles world title in eight years. That man need to get him one ASAP, asap, because ASAP, because the work he's putting in. He deserves that run. Yep, he does. He definitely deserves that run. That match the Alabama slam threw a lot of home runs. I cringed a little bit watching it, you know, and watching it through the TV. So, yeah, no, I definitely enjoyed it. I enjoyed that match more than anything that was we saw. Well, any match that we saw on Royal Rumble Not any moment, but any match that was done on Royal Rumble, yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that was nasty. So let's go ahead and get to these Royal Rumble matches and probably, like I said, we're going to do these a little bit together. But before we fully get into it, I guess this is a good point in time, as it came down to the last match. To go ahead and say it, it took me a while Q he was BTA-ing me all of 2024 with these PLEs, but I finally got one on him in our confident point predictions, as I barely get him by a score of 12-11. It pretty much came down to who had the most Final Four men in the Men's Royal Rumble. I ended up with Cena. I ended up with Cena and Punk ended up being one of the Final. I ended up with Cena and Punk ended up being one of the final four. So Cena and Punk being in the final four is what saved me.
Speaker 1:He only had, actually, I don't know what happened. Something happened. I don't remember A lot happened. I'm confused at the moment. I'm looking at the things, but I know I got Cena. I want to say Seth was one of them. I'm looking at the things, but I know I got Cena. I want to say Self was one of them. I had Cena Punk and Self. You had Cena Punk, so me having Punk is one of the final four. Me having Self is one of the final four.
Speaker 1:You did it. It's what did it. Sorry, I'm looking at it now, but pretty much long story short. I beat Q 12 to 11. I'm glad.
Speaker 2:I was going to say don't, let's beat her. You beat me about one. I did beat you about one when I was beating you. It was you know.
Speaker 1:It was BTA.
Speaker 2:Globe charters versus the generals. I heard you know what I'm saying. You got lucky because I think what Roman hit the ground before Seth did yeah yeah, pretty much. I mean, what are we talking about? What was it? Cm Jay John Wasn't Logan Paul in the Final Four.
Speaker 3:I believe he was, yeah, logan.
Speaker 2:Paul was in the Final Four, so Seth wasn't in the Final Four.
Speaker 3:Yeah, because Punk took out Seth and Roman together.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it was something like that I'm trying to. I got it.
Speaker 2:We're going to count it at the end. Good, Now I'm starting to feel like, hey, I think they are trying to cheat me out at the time at this point.
Speaker 1:So going into the Royal Rumble, it was 10-9. So going into the men's Royal Rumble, it was ten to nine. Neither of us got the most eliminations, neither of us got the Iron man. So ten, eleven. So I had eleven, twelve.
Speaker 2:That would put me at 11 because I had John and Sam. Yeah, so it's 12 to 11. Yeah, still, like I said, it was close you ain't beating me for real.
Speaker 1:That's neither here nor there. Both room matches were pretty good. Obviously we're not going to go through each participants, we're just going to go through a couple moments. But we might as well go ahead and talk about the two. That started it for the women's was Liv Morgan and Miss Eoska, I believe uh, it was actually the number three person that came out. Roxanne Perez, who became the Iron Woman, probably could have predicted that, just didn't know she was going to be in it. Uh, liv Morgan had a good performance. Some highlights Trish Stratus was in it. Nikki Bella came back Something that I was shocked and also Alexa Bliss she came back. Something I was shocked was no Jay Cargill and no Becky Lynch. I was really shocked about that. But Charlotte Flair ended up winning. I did get that right. Saw that coming from a mile away.
Speaker 1:Who didn't Q what was your thoughts on that women's Royal Rumble?
Speaker 2:So the women's Royal Rumble like I had been calling Trish Church was coming back. I knew I had a feeling she was coming back, the Nikki Bella. I heard some rumblings before but you know I wasn't for sure that that was going to happen. I like the way they're presenting Nia Jax. I think it's important to continue to build her as a monster it's kind of hard comparing women to monsters like Braun Strowman but build her in that undeniable force that's going to wreak habit all over the women's division. I think it's dope and I think it's a great move to continue to produce her in that way.
Speaker 2:Io Skye, io Skye is dope and I wish I know she wasn't going to win the Royal Rumble, but then she turned around and lost on Monday. It kind of it's kind of hard. Like you said, the Roxanne Perez if we had a thought about it we should have seen that coming, but you didn't think, we didn't think about it, you know. But as far as the women's match, I think the women's match was great. I think the women's match was great. I think everybody got a chance to hit that moment. It wasn't as many botches, in my opinion, compared to the men's.
Speaker 1:Yeah, nah, there were some blunders in the men's. Apparently there was a blown spot got Drew McIntyre high, but we'll talk about that a little bit yeah, but nah, I think the women's was dope, like always.
Speaker 2:Keep producing Nia Jax as this monster heel. I think it's dope. I think that women's division needs it.
Speaker 1:It needs it. Women's division is cooking on all levels.
Speaker 2:One thing I forget. I didn't mean to cut you off, my bad bro, go ahead. Laura, the Intercontinental Champion, laura, laura, laura, thank you, because I wasn't even going to try to pronounce that last name. Oh, I didn't like. She's a champion. You probably should have let her last a little longer than what they did, but other than that, that's the only thing I can see that I disagree with.
Speaker 1:The other women's men's card team, usm Chelsea Green. Obviously she's not billed as this dominant champion. Laira should be billed more of as a dominant champion. Chelsea Green is billed as the college chicken shit hill champion and she played her role just fine in the Royal Rumble. Laira should be billed a little bit more stronger than she is. Chris, what was your thoughts on that Women's Royal Rumble?
Speaker 3:I thought it was good. You know I'm not really a big fan of Charlotte just coming back from injury and winning it all, but I have faith in her and potentially Tiffany Stratton. I mean that's got to be the match that they're going with. I think that can make for some good buildup towards WrestleMania those two together, but I mean I thought it was fine. I was somewhat disappointed that AJ Lee didn't come back. I know a lot of fans were speculating and hoping that she would, but that's just what happens sometimes in WWE you think something's going to happen and it doesn't. I was fully convinced she was going to come out at number 30, though, but it was Nikki Bella.
Speaker 1:I was convinced it was going to be Becky Lynch. I'm still shocked she didn't come back.
Speaker 2:Why did you think Becky was coming back?
Speaker 1:Because, from what I've heard, she's been signed back to the company.
Speaker 2:That don't mean she coming back, that's right. She got paid on paper.
Speaker 1:You're right, I just thought she was coming back. I just thought she was going to come back.
Speaker 3:I think they could have used her return. I think it would have made it better.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't know, Because I think it would have overshadowed Charlotte's lead, which I don't, you know. We all knew Charlotte was coming. This was going to be the win. We knew that was going to be the case. But then if you put Becky in there, it's not going. Everybody's going to want Becky to be the winner.
Speaker 1:Right and it's already.
Speaker 2:You're already getting the boos of Charlotte, you know, on Monday Night Raw. So think about it, becky. Was you already getting the boos of Charlotte? You know, on Monday Night Raw? So think about it. Becky was in there and Charlotte still won. Nah man, I think they would have had a mutiny out here with some fans, of course. Damn, it was something else I was about to say. Oh, jay Cargill, I was surprised about Jay Cargill, not coming back.
Speaker 1:They need to go ahead and get that story going. Man, I don't know what Triple H is doing. Get that whodunit story going. We still don't know whodunit that would happen.
Speaker 2:what five months ago down there it seems like yeah but they said she's back in the performance center so maybe they built it up. But I think Becky Lynch it's two people, becky Lynch and Randy Orton I don't think they're coming back after WrestleMania.
Speaker 1:It doesn't seem like it. If they was going to come back for WrestleMania, it would have been at Royal Rumble or Real.
Speaker 2:You need that post-WrestleMania, that Monday pop, because somebody always cool. Yeah, just don't bring them too big.
Speaker 3:I'll tell you who I was impressed with. Her name is Stephanie.
Speaker 1:Stephanie back here.
Speaker 3:Yeah. I feel like she was taken out too soon. She should have had a bigger role in that match. She's really good in the ring.
Speaker 1:Oh, she's amazing in the ring. Nxt did have some good showing Stephanie back here. Julia, the NXT Women's Champion, was in it, obviously, roxanne Perez was in it, lash Legend was also in it and Jada Parker. So NXT has some good showing. No NXT participants from the men. But before we move over to the men, chris alluded to it. I agree with him. I believe it's probably going to be Tiffany Stratton, but I remembered last time Charlotte won the Royal Rumble she picked Rhea Ripley, who was the NXT champion at the time, and beat her. I think they fought each other another time, so the series is tied 1-1. I would not hate a Rhea Ripley versus Charlotte Flair match, because I know they're going to cook, but I still think it's going to be Tiffany. Chris said he thinks it's going to be Tiffany. I still think it is going to be her, but Q, you got real Tiffany. Who do you think it's going to be?
Speaker 2:Now that you mention it, I didn't think about that, I didn't think about that.
Speaker 1:It hit me on Monday when she came in.
Speaker 2:I was like damn they could run that back Because they wrestled at WrestleMania.
Speaker 1:Uh-huh.
Speaker 2:And Becky, not Becky, sorry. Now you got me thinking about Becky Lynch. That's when Real won, yeah, and it was like her moment. I remember Charlotte Flair on being happy on the side.
Speaker 1:So, yeah, I think that's a good look this would be their third WrestleMania, because the first one was, I believe, the pandemic year, charlotte. She got it for the NXT title. Then it was the last couple years ago, I think it was the Hollywood WrestleMania. Rhea got her get back. They can go a third time.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I think it would be a good look. I didn't even think about that?
Speaker 3:Yeah, I didn't either. I almost feel like that does happen, given the main event of night one. I mean, when's the last time a women's match was main event at WrestleMania? It's been a while it was.
Speaker 1:Bianca and Sasha, I believe.
Speaker 3:Yeah, it's been several years.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so it's been a while.
Speaker 1:So let's go ahead and get to the men's Royal Rumble and see some highlights. I Show Speed got murdered on live television by Braun Breaker. It started out with Rey Mysterio and Pentagon Q said it after the show. He said it after the show and he's like damn, I should have saw Pentagon be in the Iron man. And he's absolutely right, I should have saw him be in the Iron man. I should have saw that coming, but I didn't. Should have saw that coming. Another one we probably should have saw coming. I just didn't think he was going to be in there. Technically it was a tie, but Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu tied with the most eliminations. If I knew Jacob Fatu was going to be in there, I probably would have went with him for most eliminations, but I didn't.
Speaker 1:Probably one of the biggest. Well, one little thing. Drew McIntyre seemed like he got a little mad. Looked like some timing issues was off when he got eliminated early night and Logan Paul was still doing what they had planned to do. So Drew McIntyre got a little bit mad. Neither here nor there. John Cena came out, got a big pop, made it to the final two.
Speaker 1:Probably one of the biggest highlights of the match. What happened, not in the ring, when CM Punk, roman Reigns and Seth Rollins got eliminated. They was outside. Basically, seth Rollins basically murdered Roman Reigns when he put a double stomp on him. Come on, man, you gotta come on, you gotta go. He hates that. Murder Roman Reigns when he put a double stomp on him. Come on, man, come on, he hates that man. You know how much you gotta hate somebody to double stomp someone. Oh, that was crazy Seeing him. And Seth Rollins and CM Punk got into it. Seth Rollins proceeded to give Roman Reigns another stomp, this time on the still steps. Then he got into Paul Heyman's face. Then CM Punk got a little upset. They all left. But that was a heated exchange, very entertaining. Then we got back to what happened in the ring. Logan Paul got eliminated.
Speaker 1:It came down to John Cena and Jey Uso and the shock of probably the last few years. I can't remember the last time I was shocked at a Royal Rumble winner I want to say probably when Shinsuke won it. But when Jey Uso pushed John Cena off the apron I legitimately thought that it was maybe a botch. It's like nobody let Jey Uso win that thing. But they did and I was genuinely shocked. Again, q told me, q literally tweeted out when it got down to the final two oh they ain't going to let Jey Uso win this thing. But they did Again, chris, you was in the building. What was your reaction? And then, what was your thought? What was your reaction when Jey Uso won and what was your thoughts on the whole match in?
Speaker 3:total um are f-bombs allowed on this show. Go ahead, go ahead, man.
Speaker 1:Okay, fuck logan paul I just want to say that fuck logan paul.
Speaker 3:He had no right to eliminate cm punk. Uh, that is something I'll never understand to this day and I seriously hope he does not face nijay styles at wrestlemania. I just I want him to go away forever, um. But in terms of jay uso winning, my jaw dropped and I'm still kind of pondering over it almost a week later. But I think it's a ballsy decision from triple h or whoever booked him, assuming his triple h is called.
Speaker 3:But uh, you know, one of the good things about wrestling is the surprise, and on that front he certainly delivered, you know. So at the time I was kind of angry about it, you know. But now, at this point, I'm going to let it play out and see what happens. It's not what I thought would ever happen, but he won and let's hope he delivers at WrestleMania. I'd say he's bringing all the money for him. He deserves it, but we'll see what he can do on a big stage like that. So I don't know, I think Jey Uso, he's not the best with promos right now. I don't know if you all have noticed, but he seems really scared every time he's talking in the ring.
Speaker 1:So it should be interesting.
Speaker 2:I mean, I've heard of your thoughts but you got to tell the world. You know me, dog, certainly was a wild night. Certainly was a very wild sports night for me. I'm going to say it, I've always enjoyed wrestling. I watch it because I enjoy it. It pleases me, it makes me happy.
Speaker 2:But seeing Jay actually win, I was ecstatic. That's the first time I actually had emotion, like a happy emotion, when watching wrestling. Like I jumped out to cheer and I started doing the you know in the house, dog, like it really made me feel good. And I, you know, most times I get that from basketball, you know, I get that from football when my teams win and stuff. But I never really got that from wrestling. I just watch it because I enjoy it.
Speaker 2:But to see Jay win and, like you said, I had just tweeted out that I ain't going to let Jay win, it's just part of the storyline Jay get close, like he had just did on Saturday night. He gets close, he puts his all in, he doesn't get it. Okay, that's just the story. That's the story that they building for Jay. They might close it out at a later date, right, but to see him actually win, oh man, I was ecstatic, bro, I was. I was like bro, like I said, I hadn't been that happy watching hell, I hadn't been that happy watching the sport in a long time.
Speaker 1:You know what I'm saying I man, obviously, if you know me, I'm not a big emotional guy, but when I just my mouth dropped.
Speaker 3:I was like huh, like, huh, right, yeah, that's how I was.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I was like huh and I was like I was so happy. Now obviously he's getting some backlash, but I thought the reason why I was I'm I'm okay with reason why I thought it was a odd choices because they have a lot, of, a lot of stars. Jayey Uso, he's a star, he's over. But seeing Puckman talking about this man event, I can see them keeping Roman Reigns wrestling title and then they got John Cena. So when it happened I was like damn, where are they going to go with WrestleMania? Now that Monday came and gone. We kind of see a going to go with WrestleMania. Now the Mondays came and gone. We kind of see a little bit of a picture. Now we're not even going to do a. Who's Jey Uso going to pick? He said he's going to SmackDown and talk to Cody, but we know he's probably more than likely going to pick Gunter.
Speaker 1:Obviously there's elimination chamber matches. They're doing the qualifying matches, they're building out the field for that. John Cena's in it and CM Punk is in it. That Elimination Chamber match probably is going to be nothing but star power potentially, by the way, but I will be pretty positive. I'm probably going to put all my confidence points on John Cena on that show. By the way, just go ahead and let you know that's probably going to be all my confidence points on John Cena on that show. By the way, just go ahead and let you know Neo Q is probably going to be all my confidence points, so it'll probably be John Cena versus Cody Rose and Jey Uso versus Gunther. Before we talk about the other three men, how do you guys feel about those potential matches?
Speaker 3:being at WrestleMania, chris, you mean like Uso and Gunther?
Speaker 1:Yeah, Uso and Gunther and Cody Rose and John Cena Um.
Speaker 3:Let's see. It should be interesting. I'm curious to see how involved Cena is going to be in the build-up to that. I know he's filming a movie right now.
Speaker 2:He's supposed to be good after Elimination Chamber Okay, elimination Chamber. He got a movie right now between now and Elimination Chamber, but he's supposed to be on his full-time schedule after Elimination Chamber, supposed to.
Speaker 3:Okay, I'm not quite certain that he's going to win just yet. I mean, I thought for sure Punk was going to win the Rumble. They proved us wrong. So I mean, who's to say Cena might wrestle Logan Paul at WrestleMania? It wouldn't shock me.
Speaker 1:I mean before you Cena, pretty much. Obviously he's been on his humble. Oh, I don't know if I deserve it, if I get it, I get it. I'm not sure if you guys watched the post show. There wasn't much to watch, but I did watch the John Cena clip and if you didn't watch it, chris, pretty much John Cena is basically saying I'm going to be in the Elimination Chamber. Usually I'm the guy that says I got to earn it. But he says I've done so much for this company. My name basically says I don't need to qualify. That's basically why he said he's going in there. Then he proceeded to say I'm going to win number 17, not for me, but for the company, the company and his best for business. And he also says I'm going to win it so we can shake the man and wins number 18.
Speaker 3:Yeah, that was pretty cold.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so that was pretty cold, so that's why I think it's going to be John Cena. But go ahead, continue, chris.
Speaker 3:I don't know where I was going now. You know I'm okay with Cena winning, but I just don't think it should be at WrestleMania. They have a whole year's worth.
Speaker 1:But just your thoughts on like do you think it's the right match? Cody Cena, j-lo or Dumpter.
Speaker 3:Honestly, no, I'm going to be totally honest. The match I want to see is Punk and Cody and Gunther and Cena. That's what I want to see. I don't know if we're going to get that, and also Rock and Roman. That would be my top three WrestleMania matches. But I'm along for the ride, I'm here for it. That's be my top three WrestleMania matches.
Speaker 2:I'm along for the ride, I'm here for it. That's what they want to do. Q Cool To me. I know we got the big. I talked about the big names as far as Cena and Punk and Seth and Roman and all these dudes, but let's be real man. Jay's the one who's putting all the work in. Jay's the one that's there for me.
Speaker 3:That's true.
Speaker 2:Jay's the one who's on the Saturday night main events and on the SmackDown and was doing the Raw and he's been at every PLE. Top merchandise seller, so I don't understand why and Dan, you know, know me. I've been saying from a jump John Cena wasn't going to win it at WrestleMania. It was going to be. If he go win it, it's going to be SummerSlam.
Speaker 1:I don't think he wins it, but I do think he gets the match. But I don't think he's going to get the match.
Speaker 2:I don't think. I don't. It's going to have to be he. Probably. He probably. Okay, let me tell you that he probably will get the match. I don't think he should get the match because, honestly, I don't know who I think should get it. If you're asking me right now, I don't think I don't know who I think should be going against Cody. I know Jay's going against Gunther. Jay should have beat Gunther at Saturday Night's main event because, simple fact, let's be real Gunther's title world title reign has kind of been blah.
Speaker 1:It is crazy because the intercontinental title reign was so good Right.
Speaker 2:He only had it for 20, oh yeah. And then Jay only had his intercontinental for 28 days, and so Jay's going to win it. I'm not saying it could change my opinion could change but right now I see Jay going to win it because Gunther Stain's been so wild. You're going to reward the people, like I said, who've been putting it in day in and day out. At some point you've got to stop relying on those names.
Speaker 2:Casino's about to retire and Punk ain't no spring chicken. You already know Roman. You already retired. Punk ain't no spring chicken, and you already know Roman. Don't beat her that often. Nope, no, no. You got to take care of the people. Who's going to beat her? No matter who Charlotte Flair goes against, she needs to lose the match. I agree with that too. She just needs to lose the match. Jay got the. Yeah, that's cool. I guess Cody will go against Cena, but because I feel like they put the CM Punk versus Seth Rollins versus Roman Reigns as a triple threat. I think that's what they're pushing towards. I would rather honestly, I would rather just see a fatal four-way for Cody versus a singles match.
Speaker 1:We'll get there in just a second. Just a second. I like the JL Super Cup match. I love the Cody Cena match. From my perspective, it's basically like Superman versus Captain America two faces. And, like I told Chris a few moments ago, let's put a pin in that Cody Rhodes heel turn talk the reason why I think it's going to work out with Cody and Cena. I think that's where the Cody Rhodes heel turn can go, because Cena, going after this 17 world title, has made him the ultimate baby face.
Speaker 1:Twitter was in shambles when he didn't win the Royal Rumble. I'm sure the fans in the stadium was also in shambles as well. Chris, you can tell me if I was wrong, but it seems like everybody wants John Cena to win number 17. And, with that being said, that would make Cody Rhodes, even though, as babyface as he is, there's somewhat de facto heel in that match and he's been giving us some heel tendencies. That's what I think. You can go ahead and go full Cody heel by pretty much getting that win at WrestleMania in a cheaty way to keep John Cena from getting 17 for a little bit longer. That's why I think that he'll turn comes. That's why I think this could be a potentially great match.
Speaker 3:Yeah, yeah. I think the story itself could be pretty good, just the back and forth promos that the two might have. So if it does happen, if he does win the chamber, I'm not against it. It's definitely not a match I expected going back to october when the wrestlemania rumors really started to come forth. But um, let's just see what they can do.
Speaker 1:yeah uh, so we also. We got to talk about probably outside of john cena jay uso, some of the biggest names in WWE CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Obviously, they had that little altercation outside the Royal Rumble. Rumor has it that they're looking at a triple threat match at WrestleMania. Obviously, let's go ahead and cut to the chase. One big reason why we have Chris on the show is he is a big CM Punk fan. Correct me if I'm wrong. He's his favorite wrestler Probably has been for a very long time. So I was very interested to ask him his thoughts on this potential triple threat match, If he likes it, if he doesn't like it. And if he doesn't like it, what would he have rather see CM Punk do at WrestleMania? Would rather see CM Punk do at WrestleMania other than this triple third match, but it's looking like it's CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. What are your thoughts, Chris?
Speaker 3:That's a good question. It's definitely not a match I expected. I'm okay with it. For now I really think it should be just Seth and Roman, though I feel like there's a lot of layers to that story dating back to 11 years ago when the Shield was first introduced, so I don't necessarily think Punk needs to be in it. But if that's the direction that they're going, I'm intrigued to see how it plays out. I'm sure Paul Heyman's favor is going to come into play with that match. Hopefully we get more details on that soon, so I'm really curious to see what the favor is. I thought maybe Punk would have casted in that favor once he was eliminated in the Royal Rumble, but obviously I was wrong there. But I'm intrigued by it. I don't know what the value of it is. There's no title involved, so I mean, what essentially is their reasoning for the match? Is my question.
Speaker 1:Yeah, Personally that's my only problem. There's really not much stage, it's just pure hatred, which sometimes can be good. Having a match with just pure hatred, Right. But I'm going to take the final boss approach from what he basically told us last year. I'm just going to shut up, buckle up and enjoy the ride that Triple H is going to take us on for WrestleMania.
Speaker 3:Exactly.
Speaker 1:That's how I feel about it. But, mr Bell Q, you alluded to it moments ago. What's your thoughts on that potential triple threat match?
Speaker 2:I mean, if it happens, it happens Like you said. I don't, yeah, I guess, Like I said I think I would have rather have a lot of them in the fatal four-way for Cody's belt and maybe have John go against Logan Paul, because you know, like I said, I don't think, I don't. Yeah, I think that's what I would rather have. I would rather it be a fatal four-way for Cody's build and then have John Cena go against Logan Paul and then have John Cena capture his 17th title at some point.
Speaker 3:I hope they put Logan, paul and Andre in a giant battle royal. Let him stay there in that match.
Speaker 1:They're definitely going to probably be in the multi-man ladder match or something like that from SIC.
Speaker 2:As much as Logan Paul. He's annoying on the mic and his personality. The dude does put in work in that wrestling ring, but him not only be doing it a short amount of time, that's impressive.
Speaker 3:I'll give him credit. He's just I don't know. I can't stand him. I just can't. And the fact that he eliminated Punk will drive me crazy forever.
Speaker 1:You and a lot of other people can't stand him. But, like I said, q is right, man. It's like when you watch your enemy be good at something like damn, I hate that you're good at that.
Speaker 2:That's right.
Speaker 1:It's really impressive how good he is in such a fast time. But definitely got to give him credit, because pro wrestling is not an easy thing to learn and the fact that he picked it up so quickly is impressive. But he's not a great human being, and we all know that. But Anthony DeHernador, that's not a great human being, and we all know that. But Anthony DeHernador, that's not our choice. What to do with him. Triple H is going to do with him as he pleases. But that's it for the Royal Rumble. Pretty good show again. Thank you, chris, for joining us. Thank you for being here.
Speaker 3:Is there anything you want to plug before we get out of here? No, not at the moment. You know we're kind of in the offseason for high school soccer, so I need to start planning out. I guess. What is this? The fourth All-Star game? Hell, I've lost track of how many I've done. Yeah, it started in 2022. So, yeah, this year will be the fourth one. Details will be coming on that, hopefully by the spring. Got a lot going on so I'll get around to planning it soon. So hopefully I'll join you all in the future thank you again.
Speaker 1:Uh, and I'll do it from the from my perspective podcast. Please like, please subscribe, please get some merch. You run out of time to get your girl that hoodie so she can steal it and so you can buy your own hoodie. You need to get on that right away and leave a comment for us from your perspective. What are your thoughts? What are your thoughts on the triple-third match? What are your thoughts on Jey Uso and Gunther and Cody, and potentially Cody and Cena? Just leave us your thoughts, leave us your perspective. Q go ahead. What else you got for us before we get out?
Speaker 2:of here. Man, you're another bastard. Can't say your name on the spot real quick. Drew McIntyre was mad at somebody who ever messed up his spot and I feel like they're going to do this. Damien Priest vs Drew McIntyre whole shenanigan for Wrestlemania, but Drew was going after the bloodline in every member. Shouldn't he be going up against Jacob?
Speaker 1:Jacob Solo somebody.
Speaker 3:He should be going against somebody bloodline related yeah, him and Damian Priest seems really odd to me.
Speaker 2:I don't think that's the move whatsoever. I just don't. That's the only Captain Hayden moment I get.
Speaker 3:Yeah, he deserves better than that.
Speaker 2:If you're going up against, if your plan is for Drew to go against Damien, I don't think that's particularly the move. But you know, continue the storyline of him going up against the bloodline. But you know we'll catch you all on the next one.
