Speaker 1:

Welcome, welcome, welcome back to another episode of From Our Perspective. I'm your boy, deion, and it is NBA Trade Deadline Edition. We are going to talk about some of the biggest trades that happened to close out the NBA Trade Deadline. But you know I'm with your boy. Q. How's it going? Q.

Speaker 2:

Hey man, you already know the guy. It's your boy, mr Bell. I can't say your name up on the spot. Hey man, you already know the best show Boy, mr Bell. I can't say your name up on the spot. Hey man, you know, it's crazy that this week has been very like the Super Bowl is Sunday, yep, and everybody has been focusing on all the NBA trades. The NBA kind of was like all right, bet y'all got Christmas. Cool, we're going to take y'all build up to y'all biggest game. We're going to shut it down.

Speaker 1:

Cool, we're gonna take y'all build up to y'all biggest game.

Speaker 2:

We're gonna shut it down out of silver pumping his chest out, oh yeah like he doing the lebron, like yeah, what's up, like what's up, it's my, it's my time now. Yeah, look y'all, look super y'all, look game, y'all gonna do y'all numbers, but the build up to it ain nobody going to talk about y'all till Friday.

Speaker 1:

I, low-key, forgot about the Super Bowl, honestly.

Speaker 2:

Oh, it's there. That's all that you remember. It was like yeah, that's coming up too, yeah yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

But before we get into some of the biggest trades that happened in the NBA trade deadline and the trade that could have been, we got to definitely talk about that one, the player that might have been tripping. Obviously, the All-Star game is doing a different format. It's not just two teams, they're doing three plus the winner of the rookie sophomore game. But I wish I would have saw it live. But the TNA team Shaq, charles Barkley and Kenny drafted a team Me and Q. We've looked at the team. We didn't talk too much about it, but we basically looked at the team and I got to say what was Chuck and Kenny doing to allow Shaq to draft this team?

Speaker 2:

Forget that. Did you look at Chuck's team? No, let's look at it. Let's work it down. There's Joker Seven foot.

Speaker 1:

There's Giannis. He's seven foot, he learned all his stuff.

Speaker 2:

It's Pascal Siakam.

Speaker 1:

Winked.

Speaker 2:

Karl-Anthony Towns.

Speaker 1:

That's a big body with a jumper.

Speaker 2:

And see now Melissa froze over, so I can't pull up the rest of the list.

Speaker 1:

I got you. I got you Shea Gildress Alexander, he got him. He has Victor Wimby Yama. He has Seagun. I forgot how to pronounce his name. My bad if I pronounce it wrong oh, alphan, shagun and Donovan Mitchell. He has a loopy ass team he's had.

Speaker 2:

He got two guards. He got Shea and Donovan. He has two guards. The rest of hisa and Donovan, he has two guards. The rest of his team is nothing but sinners and power of fours. Yeah, like I get like. What happens when, bro, what happens when Shea and Donovan both get tied?

Speaker 1:

And he going to put that victory at point.

Speaker 2:

No, I don't understand his team. I just don't understand his team whatsoever. I know Joker plays like center point guard, but he's really not a point guard. He's not out here guarding point guards.

Speaker 1:

No, he can't, Don't sit around him I don't know.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, dog. I don't know what Chuck was doing. I really don't. He just went and got sass and was hoping he was going to block everything in sight. But when Shane and Donovan need a breather, one of them has got to be on the court at all times.

Speaker 1:

At all times, at all times, at all times. But as a team, chuck, let me go ahead and tell you. I think, like I said, team Chuck got the best team. Listen to this team. He basically got the USA team LeBron James, stephen Curry, anthony Davis, jason Tatum, kevin Durant, damian Lillard, james Harden and Jalen Brown.

Speaker 2:

So how do you think?

Speaker 1:

Not even as far as team.

Speaker 2:

Dane was on the Olympic team the previous year when we went over, the previous time when we was over in China. You know James Harden is a top 75 all the time. Daylon Brown's going to be on the Olympic team if he want to be coming up on the next four years Should have been this year. It really should have been this year. You know it's a whole other conversation and he's got every. He got every position. He probably could have had another big. Yeah, he could have probably like one of the bigs that Chuck got.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, if I was them, I probably you know if they was going to make a trade, maybe trade James.

Speaker 2:

Give me a James for Cat. Yeah, I think that's fair.

Speaker 1:

I think that's fair James for Cat. But I mean we don't know what they got. They probably not going to do that. But the team I just think that team is just too much star power. That team should win it all.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but most of them don't. The only people that's young is Tatum and Jameon. I'm not sure they're playing full 48 games. No, they're playing first to 40.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I think they can handle that first to 40. But I mean, since we want to go to young teams, we got to talk about Team Kenny, which is a young team. He drafted Anthony Davis, jalen Brunson and Jaren Jackson Jr. Anthony Edwards. What I said, anthony, you're right. Anthony Edwards, jalen Brunson, jaren Jackson Jr, jalen Williams, Darius Garland, evan Mobley, cade Cunningham and.

Speaker 2:

Tyler Hero, His team. His team don't have the names right, His team don't have the names, but they're younger and he has more balance than Chuck. He does have some simpleness of balance. Now look, let's be real. It's kind of hard. You got KD LeBron and Steph Curry on the same Wildstar team, and then you add on Anthony Davis. Come on, pal, it's only so much you go. It's only so much you go be able to do with them, and all they got to do is get to 40?. So all they got to do is gear it up to get the 40 points and then stop you from getting 40?. Come on, man. Shaq's team. Come on, man. It's kind of easy. I don't even know who they will play against versus the rookies and the sophomores, it ain't matter, though they ain't beating them.

Speaker 1:

They're not beating Team Chuck either. Who get to that rim? I don't understand.

Speaker 2:

Chuck's team. I just don team Chuck either. Who get to that realm? I don't understand Chuck's team. There's two guards. You need at least eight players. You need at least four guards.

Speaker 1:

Somebody that can play both guard and forward, at least.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like Jalen Brown.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he didn't even get that.

Speaker 2:

He's got two guards and then the rest is power. He don't even have small forwards, he has power forwards and centers.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I guess if you want to count Pascal as a small forward, no, he plays power forwards.

Speaker 1:

He's power forward.

Speaker 2:

Giannis is a somewhat small forward, but that man really a power forward.

Speaker 1:

Giannis is a small forward. No, he plays power forward, he's power forward and Giannis is a somewhat small forward, but that man really a power forward.

Speaker 2:

Giannis is a power forward too. He got two guards. He ain't got no wings.

Speaker 1:

It's wild. It's wild, but that's the team for all-star game. We'll see. I'm not sure if I'm going to watch it yet, but we'll see. I'm going to watch it yet, but we'll see. I'm going to check it out. It's something different and we got to talk about it, so I'm definitely going to watch it. But let's go ahead and get to the heart of the show. Today, nba trade deadline happened.

Speaker 2:

Which is still crazy to say, because the Super Bowl is Sunday.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it is crazy to say Super Bowl is Sunday and the NFL Honors is today too. That's even crazier. I didn't even know the NFL Honors was today. I was down and we had trade that one.

Speaker 2:

You took over and said give us your week. Yep, y'all, can play y'all game Sunday, though.

Speaker 1:

So me and Q, we did talk about the fucking sham bomb of all sham bombs, with Luka and Anthony Davis pretty much being traded for. So let's talk about a trade that we did expect. We didn't know where he was going, but Jimmy Butler, he has found him a home with Golden State. Golden State traded Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroeder, who also got traded, and Kyle Anderson at the time. Apparently, Kyle Anderson is staying with Miami after some things happened, but pretty much Jimmy Butler and Andrew Wiggins. They're definitely trading spots. That's pretty much the difference. Now, basically, do you think Jimmy Butler is a better, better than Andrew Wiggins at this point? And I do. What's your thoughts? Q Izzy.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but how much is the question? I think Because they traded a lot of depth, yeah, a lot of depth, I think the biggest.

Speaker 1:

obviously, you know I can't lie Andrew Wiggins was a big part of their championship. A lot of depth, I think the biggest. Obviously, I can't lie, Andrew Wiggins was a big part of that championship a couple years ago. But he has not been that same player for some reason. I do think he's had some personal issues the past couple seasons. That may have played a part, but I will know Jimmy Bullock is going to show up in the playoffs for sure. Yeah, but you got to get there.

Speaker 2:

Andrew Wiggins is going to help up in the playoffs, for sure, yeah, but you got to get there. Andy Wiggins is going to help you get there. Jimmy Butler got paid so he might be in a better mood to help you get there.

Speaker 1:

That's a great point. That's why I say this team can be dangerous if they get to the playoffs. This is a team like I hope they don't make it because you don't want to see them. They might not make it, but you don't want to see them because of Jimmy Butler. He gets the name Playoff Jimmy for a reason. It wasn't no self-given thing, like that guy in Philadelphia where he tried to name himself Playoff P. Jimmy Butler's Playoff Don't don't?

Speaker 2:

You know I love Bob George man, it wasn't necessary.

Speaker 1:

It wasn't necessary it wasn't necessary, it was a little necessary because he named himself Playoff P. Playoff Jimmy was given to him because that man be showing up.

Speaker 2:

Even if it's true, I don't feel like it was necessary.

Speaker 1:

That's all I'm saying oh I don't feel like it was necessary.

Speaker 2:

That's all I'm saying. Oh, I heard you, but the thing I want to say is Jimmy Butler's like 35, and he only really got one extra year because it's a two-year. He's had a new two-year extension, right, he already had a player option for nature anyway. So basically he did was scrapped. That year they added I think like a million, $2 million, to what he already was about to get and then gave him an extra year. He's 35. Andrew Wiggins is 29. And he was playing better this year than he did last year. So and like I said, you got to go out at depth. I don't really know if I know, in the playoffs it's worth it, but in the regular season, to get you to the playoffs, I'm still questioning if it was worth it, if he was going to stay, especially after Steph told you don't trade a bunch of assets just to get me help. Now we gonna play it out. I just I don't. I don't know, deion, I just don't know.

Speaker 1:

I think we're going to state they wanted, they had something in mind that didn't go through, so they had to pivot to another option. We'll talk about that, what they had in mind here in a second. We're going to get through the rest of these trades.

Speaker 2:

Let's talk about that now. Are you going to talk about that now?

Speaker 1:

Let's go ahead and talk about that now. Apparently, the ghost they were is what they really had in mind. They originally had a Kevin Durant reunion to go to state, so it was pretty much Andrew Wiggins was going to end up in Miami. Still, jimmy Butler was going to end up in Phoenix and KD was going to end up back in Golden State. Some other little pieces was involved, but those are the main three.

Speaker 1:

But apparently KD was like I'm good and from my perspective I'm sure KD deep down inside he wants to win a ring outside of Golden State to maybe feel better, because a lot of people shit on his two rings for Golden State. I personally think, hey, the rings is a ring, you was the finals MVP for them, so they weigh just the same partner. I'm sure he doesn't feel that way. He was the finals MVP for him, so they weighed just the same partner. Yeah, I'm sure he doesn't feel that way. Maybe that's why he didn't want to go back. But if I'm KD I probably would have. You know what. I probably should have left the first time. Let me go back up there and see if we still got that chemistry from my perspective.

Speaker 2:

But Q, what's your thoughts? No, don't go back, because if you wasn't happy before, why would you go back? Okay, you make sense In basketball world. In my mind, basketball-wise, kevin Durant makes more sense on the Warriors than Jimmy Butler. And Kevin Durant, I believe, is a year older. Basketball-wise it makes more sense. But as far as Kevin Durant, the person, his mentality, I don't want.

Speaker 2:

If I wasn't, look man, I left for what happened. We don't know if it's a Draymond situation I also heard Joe Lake up there might have said some things to him that probably rubbed the man the wrong way. So if that's the case, I don't want to go back. If I wasn't happy there, I'm not going to put myself in that predicament. Now. The question to me is what the sons do, because in fact you was, basically you was shopping Kevin Durant. If I'm Kevin Durant and I never came to y'all and said I wanted to go nowhere, why y'all shopping me? Why y'all looking around? Why y'all looking around to get rid of me? If I'm getting around now, there's some questions that we probably need to sit down and talk. We should have talked right before the trade deadline. What's up? What's going on? I understand why they're doing it because they're like man we're paying all this money and we're on the 500 team.

Speaker 1:

You're not wrong, you're right. We're paying all this money and we're on the 500 team. Yep, yep, hey, you're not wrong, you're right when you're right. I just you know, that's me thinking. I didn't realize. I kind of low-key, forgot that he probably got some beef with Draymond Green, but hey, that was beautiful basketball.

Speaker 2:

Hold on, wait, draymond ain't really a spring chicken either. He's not playing up to the standard that they need him to play. So if you KD, why would I want to go do that? So I got to listen to him do all that barking, but he ain't playing up to that standard.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, speaking of Golden State, they are right now sitting at number 11, which is just outside the play-in, with a 25-25 record. Ahead of them is the Sacramento Kings, directly behind them is the San Antonio Spurs, now the San Antonio Kings. They've gotten worse throughout the trade deadline. They still got some good pieces. I just think if you trade away De'Aaron Fox I know Zach Levine is a dead dog, I know Sabonis is still that guy, but I still think you've gotten worse, slightly worse, so I can see the Kings taking a step back I think the San Antonio Spurs, who picked up De'Aaron Fox, have gotten better. So it looks like I believe that last playing spot is going to go between the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs. We'll see what happens there, but I don't know. It all depends. I think if the Golden State Warriors do get to the playoffs, it could be dangerous. Well, Sacramento.

Speaker 2:

They did acquire Jonas, though. Jonas, valanciunas, valanciunas, yeah, so he might help them out a little bit. To continue that, you don't think?

Speaker 1:

so, no, no, go ahead, go ahead. I was looking at something else.

Speaker 2:

I was just saying you don't think he might help them keep that ninth spot?

Speaker 1:

I don't know. I mean, they've got an interim head coach. That can be good or bad.

Speaker 2:

They've been playing better under him. I don't know. I think they might keep. I think it's possible that they're going. I think it's possible they keep that nice, but I think Golden State's the one that I would watch out for. All right To fall out of it, because again Jimmy don't be playing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so we will see so again. Right now, looking at it again right now the play-in is the Minnesota Timbers, the Dallas Mavericks, the Phoenix Suns and the Sacramento Kings, with the Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs the only other two teams as in contentions, I mean the Warriors and Kings they're tied, they have the same record. So I'm sure the Kings probably have a tiebreaker advantage. Well, actually the Suns, kings and Warriors have the same record. I'm sure there's a tiebreaker right there. And the Spurs they got some work to do but they're not that far behind. But we'll see what they can do. There has been some other trades. Honestly, let's see if these move cue a little bit. Brandon Engel is going to the Toronto Raptors for Bruce Brown and Kelly Olenek. Does that move you?

Speaker 2:

No, because they got the same player already. So Brandon Ingram is Scottie Barnes and RJ Barrett are all mid-range forwards. Somebody's got to be able to shoot the third. And Brandon Ingram to his credit, when he has played this year because he's hurt a lot when he's played this year, he has shot the three-point ball better than previous years. But I'm just going off. You know his typical track record. I do want to give him that credit. His typical track record is he don't really shoot a lot of threes, though, and you already got RJ Burr and you already got Thurie Mars. You already got two people that don't shoot three and Emmanuel Quigley. You thought he was going to develop into something. He didn't, yet I don't really know what they're doing in Toronto.

Speaker 2:

I just, it don't make sense. Kind of like the Lucas trade, it don't make sense.

Speaker 1:

It don't. It didn't One other trade we're really going to talk about. I don't, it didn't One other trade we're really going to talk about. There's been a couple others, but we got to go back to the Luka trade in LA as a whole.

Speaker 1:

Personally, from our perspective, this moved me. I actually looked him up a little bit. He's a young guy, 23-year-old, but I will say I was upset what they got rid of for him. But I understood the Lakers. They traded Dalton Kinnick, cam Reddish and an unprotected first-round pick for the Charlotte Hornets center, mark Wells, a pretty athletic guy, young guy. I think this helps them out for the future post-LeBron, as they have Luka, austin Reeves. I think it helps them out for the future. I think it's very unfortunate that they traded Dalton Connect who, as a rookie, showed very good promise. But I think having a young guy, let's see how he develops. He's still 23, still young. I think again, post LeBron, with Luka they can make some noise. They won't be as bad as I thought they would be after LeBron with what they've done this year.

Speaker 2:

Dalton Connect is older than Mark Williams. Mark Williams has been in the league like 34 years as or. Dalton Connect is just as a rookie. Them Kobe years in college basketball and football is wild, bro, they're wild.

Speaker 2:

That being said, I know you need a rim runner and you need somebody to play center. I don't know if this was the way to go about it, because you need some scoring. You need somebody else to do the scoring. I think you trade. It's just me. I think they should have traded Austin Reeves for somebody for a better center, because of the fact Austin Reeves needs the ball, luka needs the ball, lebron needs the ball. You probably need to cut out a middle man. Cut out one of those, and I think you could have got a better center for Reeves than what you got. They're not saying Mark Williams is not going to be a good player because he's a rim runner, and that's what you need with Luka. You need somebody that's going to block some shots and run the rim and dunk the ball and catch these alley-oops because it just works out perfect. I just think, man, why not trade him? Why not trade Reeves? Get you a better quality center in there. That's my perspective. I think you could have got a better center.

Speaker 1:

So what is your perspective on the Lakers' future after that trade, post-lebron, after that trade?

Speaker 2:

Post-LeBron. I think you're going to need a number two. They don't. They currently don't have a number two. They don't. Lebron, if you know what, maybe two years, let's call it. He probably got two years Because he probably going to want to play with his younger son too, so let's say he got two years. After that, you're still going to have to build this roster, but you know what the Lakers do. The Lakers trade to get people. They don't really draft and develop people, so they'll trade and get somebody. That's what they're going to do, but currently I still don't see it. I don't see it Honestly. I don't see it now. The fact that they were in the top six right now in the West really was a credit to Anthony Davis and JJ Reddick.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, jj Reddick been doing a good job.

Speaker 2:

And Anthony Davis balled his ass out. That's the shit. That's pissing me off the most about this trade is everybody's acting like Anthony. I get Luka is 25 and he's been a pro since he was like 15, 16 years old and he made five all-NBA teams and his first. I get it, I get it. I get it. I get it. But we got to quit acting like Anthony Davis wasn't playing MVP-level type basketball. He's not a bum, not a bum at all. Acting like Anthony Davis is a bum. Let's not also act like Anthony Davis is 36. He's 31. He's still 31. He's still got a good four or five years left. Are you right when you're right? I know Luka got a good 12, 14. I get that.

Speaker 2:

I'm not saying the Lakers didn't win this trade, but I'm also saying these people I heard giving Anthony the Mavericks an F. I've seen that that wasn't an F. You had a defensive player out of your MVP-level type player in back. It ain't an F In the Christie kid. He plays defense and he gives you a little bit of scoring. That's going to be the underrated value of this trade, because he's going to be able to go play your shooting boards and go play your smart board. He's going to be able to go play your shooting boards and go play your small court. He's going to be able to play the leagues give him somebody that can play defense.

Speaker 1:

The only reason why I wouldn't have gave it an F I probably would have gave it a B+ the only reason why I would have gave it that low is you probably could have gotten that second or first-round pick. That's why I would have been like I should have gotten for that other first-round pick. That's why I would have been like I should have gotten for that other first-round pick. That's the only other thing, maybe more than just a first-round pick. Probably got him for a lot more, but you definitely should have got that other first-round pick. Just getting one was a shame.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but you know they said the reason they didn't get that other second-round pick is because the Lakers wanted to talk to Luka to see if he was going to sign the extension, but Dallas said no. So that's why they was like you're only going to get four first-round picks. But I get why Dallas didn't want to do it, because once you open that floodgate that deal's not happening. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

They wanted to go through them back channels. Someone that's not trying to go through that back channels and I believe the NFL tried to attempt to take some buzz from the NBA but they failed miserably. Still big news but Miles Garrett, the Cleveland Browns defensive end, requested a trade and he's been trying to tell anybody who wants to hear it. He's been going on podcasts, he went on many accounts. He's trying to get up out of trade and he's been trying to tell anybody who wants to hear it. He's been going on podcasts, he went on many accounts but like, yeah, he's trying to get up out of that. Let's see where he ends up at. But I mean he's got some options. I mean I saw a couple lists Some people saying Philadelphia for some reason. Some people saying Buffalo which wouldn't be crazy. Chicago, I've heard. Anytime a star player wants to get traded, they always put the Cowboys in there. Jerry Jones ain't going to do it. We just know. But what you think, you even think maybe the Tennessee Titans got a chance.

Speaker 2:

No, no, we're not. I'm just going to stop you before you even try to be funny. You know we don't have a chance. No, no, I'm just going to stop you before you try to be funny. He said he wants to go to a playoff contender. We got the number one overall pick because we bad. I don't understand why you're turning me off. The team I think he should go to actually is Green Bay. I stole that from Hunter. He did a previous fire with us, matter of fact, the draft day special and me and him was talking about it, and when he said Green Bay, I said I know you being a fan right now, but that actually makes a lot of sense. So, yeah, I'm going to go with Green Bay as the place he should go. Another place I think potential that he would be good, he will be great in is the Chargers.

Speaker 1:

I agree 100% with the Chargers. My first thought was Buffalo. Personally, that's a good word. That's a good word.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to's something that's a Buffalo. That is a good one. That's a good one.

Speaker 1:

So I'm going to say, buffalo, that's something they would do. Obviously, you have Von Miller, aging Von Miller, but that man is still Von Miller.

Speaker 2:

I do, I like Buffalo.

Speaker 1:

Speaking of Buffalo. Yeah, speaking of Buffalo, but yeah, so that is what I see. But we'll see. I think he gets traded either right before he's definitely going to get traded right before the draft or during the draft. Those NFL draft picks they're never going to be as valuable as they are right now, so this is the time He'll probably get traded. I can see a team in the top ten Chicago, maybe giving up their top pick to get him. I think Chicago wouldn't be a bad place for him.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but that's not a playoff contender, though, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1:

They think they are. They think they are.

Speaker 2:

They'll playoff contender. They're not a Super Bowl contender. Definitely not a Super Bowl contender.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, that's the big news with the trade deadline, but obviously the Super Bowl is today. Hold on, Hold on. We'll talk about the Super Bowl. Listen, Super Bowl is here, but nobody's really talking about it. But the NFL Honors Show is here which means the awards have been given out. Before we talk about the awards, let's give a congratulations to the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 2025, antonio Gates, jared Allen, sterling Sharp and Eric Allen. Shout out to those guys.

Speaker 2:

They let Sterling get in.

Speaker 1:

They let Sterling get in.

Speaker 2:

Oh damn, that's dope.

Speaker 1:

Yep, that's dope.

Speaker 1:

They let Sterling get in. Hey, shout out to him his brother. Obviously we know his brother. Club Shay Shay, club Shay Shay Shannon Sharp. He's been lobbying to get his brother. He said his brother. Club Shay Shay, club Shay Shay Shannon Sharp. He's been lobbying to get his brother. He said his brother was better than him and that's how I praise, considering he is a Hall of Famer as well.

Speaker 1:

Oh, let's try to look at some of these awards. Kevin O'Connor won Coach of the Year. Saquon Barkley won Officer Player of the Year. Jane Daniels was Officer Rookie of the Year. Jayden Daniels won Offensive Rookie of the Year. Any other Somebody won Comeback. Joe Burrow won Comeback Player of the Year. So now that those awards are over, before we get to the end of them, awards shock you. Nothing to shock you. All right, let's go ahead and just get to it. Mvp was given out. Lamar Jackson was the first team all-NFL quarterback. Josh Allen was second, which means the first time they said in history. Only other time this has happened is the award was given to a non-quarterback, but the first time in history that the non-first team NFL quarterback did not get the MVP, as Josh Allen won the MVP.

Speaker 2:

Thoughts. My only thought is, like you said, lamar was the first team and Josh Allen was the second team, but it wasn't like those margins was close. When it came down to the votes, lamar doubled him up. So how did Josh win MVP?

Speaker 1:

And what's so odd about that is the same people that vote for that but votes for the MVP. Somebody gotta be like doing some type of voting game.

Speaker 2:

What I'm confused Voters fatigue. I think Joker is balling up this year in the NBA, but I don't think he's going to get the MVP this year because in fact he's going to be bonus for team. They're going to want to give it to somebody else because that's what human brains do. I think they've seen Lamar already had to. They like we can't give him another one. He ain't done nothing in the playoffs. That's the only thing I can come up with. It had to be voters for teams. That's the only thing I can come up with.

Speaker 1:

And this race was close 383 to 362. Close race.

Speaker 2:

For the voting of the first team and second team to be so wide. It's voters for team. That's the only thing I can come up with, not saying that Josh Allen is not deserving. I'm not saying I don't want it to come off like I'm saying he's not deserving. He is deserving of being the MVP. We thought it was going to come down to them too. If Saquon had to get that record, it would have been a different conversation.

Speaker 1:

But that being said, it's just the first team and second team thing. It has never happened.

Speaker 2:

That's what's. It's throwing me off, because when I saw that, I was like, oh, am I going to give him a third? Yeah, but then now it's like he didn't get it, it's like, well, how did that? Come out. A lot of stuff just ain't been making sense this week. This week hasn't been the week of. It doesn't make sense.

Speaker 1:

So let me go ahead and break down the voting. Obviously, I said 383 to 362. Let's break down. Josh Allen received 27 first place votes, 22 second place votes and one third place vote. Lamar Jackson received 23 first place votes, 26 second place votes, zero third place votes and one fourth place vote.

Speaker 2:

How many fourth place votes did Josh Allen get?

Speaker 1:

He got zero.

Speaker 2:

And Lamar got one.

Speaker 1:

Lamar got one.

Speaker 2:

Who, in their right mind, voted Lamar fourth. I could see second Hell. I could see third Damn who the hell else would have been above.

Speaker 1:

In order obviously, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, Third place with 120 points. Saquon Barkley, Fourth place. Joe Burrow with 82 points. Fifth place was Jerry Goff with 47, and Patrick Mahomes came in sixth place. The rest of them, they weighed down their points. Patrick Mahomes had 31. The rest of them had single digits.

Speaker 2:

They weighed down their points. Paxton Rose had 31. The rest of them had single digits. Okay, like I just said, like, bro, you know what I'm saying. You know I hate on Cincinnati a lot, bro. You know I hate on Cincinnati for my own personal reasons. But, that being said, it's no way that somebody really thought Joe Burrow should have been, because I'm thinking it had to be Joe Burrow. Right, it had to be Joe Burrow. It's no way in hell somebody really thought that he was in the top three of the MVP voting. Like, yeah, he put up a lot of great numbers, but come on, bro, what are we talking about? His team sucked Like the defense couldn't stop a nosebleed Yep Because he put up nose that he deserved. Come on, stop, stop.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's crazy. Like I just don't, I don't get. The First team all pro did not win MVP. Only other time that a first team all pro quarterback didn't win MVP is when the MVP went to a running back. That's the only time and this makes no sense. Lamar at fourth is crazy, and somebody putting him at fourth who the hell does that?

Speaker 2:

All right, man, it's cool, like I said, but it's bonus fatigue. They didn't want to give Lamar a third one.

Speaker 1:

This guy be running for seed, but I mean, there is a game this Sunday. I kind of forgot what is Sunday. The Super Bowl Kansas City Chiefs versus the Philadelphia Eagles. We did not talk about it last week because we was going to talk about it this week. Kind of forgot about it.

Speaker 2:

I was going to say to the NBA. You said no, you're not.

Speaker 1:

I wasn't a big fan of this matchup because we've seen it before. I'm not a big fan of rematches, but we've seen it before. Obviously, saquon Barkley is the man that stirs the drink for the Eagles, and the other side has number 15, which that's all that matters. I guess we just might as well go ahead and get right into it who you got Q in Super Bowl, kansas City or the Philadelphia Eagles?

Speaker 2:

You know what's crazy dog? This is the first time and I knew we was going to talk about it, but this is the first time I have actually thought about it who I think is going to win. So I think Philly is the better team.

Speaker 1:

I agree.

Speaker 2:

Kansas City got Jordan.

Speaker 1:

I also agree.

Speaker 2:

And they also got a pivot on defense in Chris Jones.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you know, don't forget, they got Phil Jackson on the sideline.

Speaker 2:

And they got a Romney playing tight.

Speaker 1:

And they also got you know how to describe him, but their defensive coordinator. He's the one that ended the undefeated streak for the New.

Speaker 2:

England Patriots. They got a defensive coordinator that be like F, let's him out. They got a defensive coordinator that just be like go get him earn a body.

Speaker 1:

That man sent the cornerbacks on Josh Allen in the last game. He was the biggest player in the game.

Speaker 2:

He's Mr man. They used to call Ron Riverboat Ron man. No Spags, don't care bro, but that's his calling card. Who am I picking? I think it's going to come down. It's really going to come down to Kansas City offensive line versus Philly's defensive line, Because Philly's defensive line got some dudes on it. They got some dudes.

Speaker 1:

Carter and Jordan. Thanks, good God.

Speaker 2:

They got some dudes dog. I'm going to go Philly. I respect it With no confidence whatsoever. I respect it. Normally I say until you beat the man, don't pick against that man. But I'm going to go Philly.

Speaker 1:

I respect it. Go Philly, I respect it. I also agree with you that the Philadelphia Eagles is the best team. But if number 15 wakes up on Sunday, I just got Kansas City. As long as that man wakes up on Sunday, that's who I'm going with. Until I see otherwise, I'm picking 15. I ain't even going to say Kansas City, I'm just going to say I'm picking 15.

Speaker 2:

I'm picking one person. Yeah, I feel it, and normally you know me, normally I'd be like man till you beat the man you got to go roll with that man, but I think I'm going to go Philly because I think their defense is going to take care of business. Jalen Hurts got to prove that he's a quarterback.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because you know they're going to load the Saquon. Steve Spagnuolo's defense has never given up a 100-yard rusher in the playoffs, just want to point that out. Saquon Barkley has been running for 200 yards in the playoffs, just want to point that out. That's going to be a good one to watch. But again, 15 wakes up Sunday. I got him. That's all I got to say. I can't pick against him. I feel it.

Speaker 2:

I feel it, I feel it, I feel it. But I'm going to go Philly. I'm going to believe in their defensive line, I'm going to believe in Jalen Hurst because, like you said, I don't think Saquon is going to. Saquon is going to break one, but he ain't going to break more than one. He ain't going to break one.

Speaker 1:

He definitely going to break one, because that man is unstoppable at this point and a well-deserved offensive player of the year. I need to go look at those ones. It was between him and Jamar Chase for me.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, dog, that man. Nice, he's going to break one, but I think they're going to hold him down to two and threes, maybe a six for the rest of the game. So, yeah, man, I'm going to go. Philly. Jalen Hurts is going to prove the doubt is wrong. He's going to put up 250 passing.

Speaker 1:

Well, that'll do it from my perspective. Hope you guys enjoyed the show Did.

Speaker 2:

I really just say 250?.

Speaker 1:

You did. That's a big number. That's a big number for Jalen Hurts. Somebody's been throwing for like 120, 130. But they've been winning, that's all that matters. Again, thank you for joining us again for another episode of From Our Perspective. Y'all better enjoy this last game this Sunday. It's the last football game for a while. I think we got some spring football this year.

Speaker 2:

That's what I'm saying. They don't do the spring football league like yet dog, I'm going to watch it because none of us be on those things.

Speaker 1:

We're going to watch it because we might talk about it. We'll see how it plays out. Though we don't know yet, we might talk about it. I ain't going to promise, I'm just going to say we might. They might get a little playoff coverage.

Hey, they might get a little playoff coverage.
