Welcome, welcome, welcome to another episode of, from my Perspective, hitting y'all with the double deuce, as we give y'all two episodes this week. But we had to, man. We got some things going on like the NFL draft, but I'm your boy, dion. How's it going? Q?
Speaker 2:Yeah, I know the guys, it's your boy, mr Bell. Aka say your name upon the spot. Might not put you to model. What's up, dion? They can't say your name is on the spot. Might not put you to model.
Speaker 1:What's up? Do Not much. No, pretty good. I know you was feeling good, but I feel like you knew about this for like three months now. The Tennessee Titans, y'all got y'all quarterback of the future. How are you feeling?
Speaker 2:I was driving earlier, right, I was driving on my way home and I seen the video of Warren Moon popped out with the jersey to give. To give. Who did I say? Travis Hunter, Cam Moore. Warren Moon popped up with the jersey to give Cam Moore, Surprised him. They dapped it up, hugged it out, Two black QBs. And I thought about it, Tennessee got a history of black QBs. If you think about it, Tennessee got a history of black QBs. If you think about it. You got the Warren Moon, you got the Steve McNerney, you got the Vince Young, and then you add on the Cam Moore. We are a black QB franchise. Now think about it Tennessee Titans is a black QB franchise. Come on, man. Warren Moon legendary Steve McNerney. Legendary Steve McNair. Legendary Vince Young I mean, he's legendary in college, but he's legendary. And then Ken Ward he's going to be legendary. I got college. He's going to be legendary.
Speaker 1:He's going to be legendary. I mean, obviously we watched football NFL all last season. I know you watched Tennessee Tigers game. You put yourself through that pain, cruel and unusual punishment every Sunday.
Speaker 2:No, I didn't. I watched majority of them games. But once after a while you start looking like all right, what are we doing? You get through the first quarter, it's like all right, I know where this is going. Let me tell you something. I'm old enough to realize. Why am I going to put myself through this pain and agony all the damn time? Nah, I can't do that with everybody. So when my Indiana Pacers start losing, I cut it off. Tennessee Titans start losing, I cut it off. Cincinnati Reds I cut it off. Only thing I do if I sit and watch the end is boo, that's it.
Speaker 1:Nah, man Ain't nobody sit here and stretch myself out.
Speaker 1:But I've watched a few games and I don't think I've ever seen a quarterback lose a team games more than Will Levis did last year. Y'all had a pretty solid team, you know, defense pretty solid. Tony Pollard had a pretty solid year. I believe he went over 1,000 yards Solid for him. But Will Levis, he just made some stupid dumbfound plays at the end of some of those games to lose y'all the game and he was memed up for like three weeks in a row, which was ridiculous. But y'all have Ken Ward now. Y'all have Ken Ward now you have Calvin Ridley. How?
Speaker 2:do you think y'all can make some noise? We also added Lockett. We added Lockett today or yesterday one of them, I think it was today. We added Lockett. Lockett is going to help Ken Ward because he gives him a solid receiver. He ain't going to beat you deep, but he might actually beat you deep, but he's a possession-right receiver. He's reliable. So I'm excited about Lockett, more so now after I thought about it. When I first talked to Josh, josh was on the pod with us.
Speaker 2:When I first talked, to Josh about it, I was kind of like come on, bro, like it's 35. What are we talking about? But the more I thought about it today, I think it's a good signing Kevin Ridley. I still think we owe it back. I don't care how good Brooke going to end up being, I always go back to we didn't have to pay him that much, but we did, but we didn't have to pay him that much. I'm excited. I want to see what else we do in this draft. Here's some more Continue to get the offensive line. I think we need to run it back. I was told by other Titans fans that we don't, but I feel like we do.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean as a fan of Tony Pollard. He plays for my team. I don't think Tony Pollard is good as the lead back. I think he's good as the second punch. He's not good as the lead, but if you bring him in two back system, that second punch he's. That guy. Change the pace gets you a little bruiser and he can come in as the change the pace guy. We'll see if y'all do that, though We'll see what y'all get.
Speaker 2:Can we talk about how Cal Ward was so disrespected by ESPN?
Speaker 1:Yeah, they didn't even show him. They showed us the door.
Speaker 2:They should which why I understand, like you said, we've been knowing for the past two, three months that more than likely Cam was going number one. Cool, we knew within the past week, the past two, three weeks, that Cam was definitely going number one. Y'all should have had his interview already done. But then he get on stage, he does the interview. Y'all don't even show it on TV. What are we doing? But we automatically go to pick number two. Or, like you said, they show us your duel. Why, why are y'all ignoring the number one overall pick? He's number one. He's number one. Why are we ignoring him? Espn was very disrespectful, very disrespectful. I think it's because he got drafted in Tennessee. It's a lot of hate in Tennessee.
Speaker 2:I mean, I know y'all, not one of them big boys, even though y'all in Nashville we not the mother team, we not marquee teams, and I get that, but he's still the number one pick in this draft that y'all highlight year-round. Y'all have Mel Kiper talking about not talking about the time of the show is gone but Fields talking about all your just for the number one pick. Everybody know it. Y'all don't even give him the time of day of a life.
Speaker 1:Come on, man, it's very disrespectful, you're right, you're right, but they kind of went straight on to the second pick, and the reason why is because a Portland Rising player got drafted at the second pick, but not just because he got drafted. That was a big-time trade, the Jacksonville Jaguars. They traded up from five. They gave the Cleveland Browns the number five pick, a 2025 second-round pick, a 2025 fourth-round pick and next year's first-round pick. They gave up all that and just received the number two pick, a 2025 fourth round pick and next year's first round pick. They gave up all that and just received the number two pick, which turned out to be Travis Hunter, a fourth round pick. So they just swapped fourth round picks and they got an extra sixth round pick in it. That was a lot to give up. Now, granted, they're getting some people will say two players. I think he's more so going to be a player and a half Player and a half player in the quarter. I can't.
Speaker 1:They're probably going to tell him to try it If he's successful, he's successful, but I more so see him being a player and a half Full-time corner comes in for some spot duty at receiver, or full-time receiver comes in on nickel packages at corner. We'll see how Jacksonville plays out. What was your thoughts? And I believe Travis Hunter was so excited when he found out he didn't have to go to Cleveland because people thought he was going to Cleveland. Instead of going to Cleveland, he going to sunny.
Speaker 2:Jacksonville. So who wouldn't prefer Jacksonville over Cleveland? So a couple things. Who wouldn't prefer Jacksonville over Cleveland? I mean, that's no shade to Cleveland, but if you got the opportunity to live in Florida or Ohio, North Ohio too. You going to Cleveland, I mean you going to Florida, it's no shade. It's no shade to Cleveland. It's a lovely city. I'm pretty sure I've never. It's no shade to Cleveland. It's a lovely city, I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 2:I've never been there, but I'm pretty sure it's a lovely city and it's cold. It's cold too, yeah, but we cold. I know you're going further north You're going to get cold, so that's thing number one. But you know, the head coach actually said he wants him to actually play wide receiver more. But yeah, I think it's offensive coach, so he's going to want him to play wide receiver.
Speaker 2:Like I'm with you, I'm thinking he probably I would think, going into the draft who I heard the coach, like you said, he's going to play mostly corner. He's going to come and do some spot plays for offense because you give him some set offensive plays. He ain't got to be in every single wide receiver meeting, no, because he know he got set plays. These is your plays. It's about 10, 12 of them. Once you know them, you get them down, cool, you focus on defense. But apparently that's not going to be the case. It's going to be the opposite. You're going to be mainly a wide receiver. Then you're going to come in and play defense here and there. I don't really see how you can play defense here and there, yeah.
Speaker 1:I don't understand that. Personally, I play the receiver Doing spot duty at DB. I know there's people that talked about it on ESPN and all the podcasts saying people say you can play most receiver and do some nickel. I don't see how that's going to work because to play defense, the amount of studying you got to do to play defense I mean obviously you got to do a lot of studying in the office as well.
Speaker 1:As a receiver it's not nearly as much as defense Receiver. You're really just looking at the secondary corner seeing how the safeties and corners shift into their position or his man trying to catch the tails of his man in the zone. When you're defense, you got to look at the guards, the tackles, the receivers, the quarterback, what formation when they do the shifts. You got to look at all of that. So if they don't try that, I think that's going to be a little bit harder. But me personally, like I said, I would have said you my lockdown corner. We'll bring you in a couple times on offense, like Deion Sanders did that when he was in the Cowboys. That's how I would have played him.
Speaker 2:I would say, because this is just me and you know I watch football right, I don't know football like people on TV. I don't know football like people on TV, but to me I feel like it's easier to get another wide receiver that's good compared to getting another good corner. You know what I'm saying. Like Travis Hunter is great, you know what I'm saying. But if you put him at corner he'd be great. I feel like it's easier to get another good right receiver compared to you. Make him a great right receiver and you're looking for a good corner.
Speaker 2:I feel like that's a little harder to do From my perspective. I feel like it's a little harder to do to find good defense secondary. That's just me. If you could get one dude that's going to shut down one side of the field defense, I think I'm going to put him over there and then let him, you know, come in. You know a couple plays here and there on offense, some games he might play a little more on offense, but for the most part I want him to be the. I want him to shut down that side of the field because of the simple fact we need to be able to get Trevor Lawrence to bow in good position, good field Yep.
Speaker 1:Yep, because, like I said, I'll probably, if I was in the corner, probably give him like 10, 15 plays a game. If that, that's how.
Speaker 2:I see it.
Speaker 1:That's how I see it and I personally, from my perspective, I think he's a much better corner than he is a receiver. I think a receiver he's just more naturally gifted. He was God-given. He doesn't do anything technically sound, he's just out there doing what God gave him and being that athletic freak, a quarterback. He's a technical mastermind and you can just see that he studies films a lot. Some of those plays he was in a position where he wasn't even supposed to be with the defense. He's like oh, I know what's coming, I'm about to just use instinct, use his natural instinct. So I think it's a better corner. But we'll see Jacksonville. They become somewhat much to watch TV. I'm already out on Jacksonville because y'all burned me last two seasons. I thought y'all was going to be good.
Speaker 2:I don't know why I thought you were good, but me and my son was talking about it when he got drafted and I said well, jacksonville needs to sell tickets. Who's going to sell you more tickets? The person that you're going to pick at five? Or Trevor Thomas? Yeah, so it wasn't just about getting. It wasn't about getting a football player, it was about getting the person so that you could fill that state.
Speaker 1:Yep, and everybody seemed like from almost every mock draft that I've seen, pretty much had Mason Taylor, who the Cleveland Browns ended up taking at number five, going to them. Unless you're Aaron Donald, you ain't selling no tickets at defensive tackle.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Aaron Donald ain't selling. You know there's a few people going to see TJ Wild, but there ain't that many no yeah, there ain't that many.
Speaker 2:Across. Nobody bad. There's a few, but many Crossby Nobody bad. He ain't moving the needle. Travis Hunter's going to move the needle. That's another reason why I think Jacksonville made that trade. They're trying to sell these tickets. I done heard some stuff Orlando gearing up. I done heard some stuff. Why Orlando gearing up for him? I don't know, but I heard some stuff why Orlando is very enough for him. I don't know, but I heard that Orlando is very enough for him in a couple of wrestling events in the coming years. I just assumed they were going to go to London, but okay, you know, I just assumed he was going to London. But yeah, that's it. That'd be interesting. That'd be very, very interesting.
Speaker 1:Next up, speaking of someone England's going to London. That'd be interesting. That'd be very, very interesting. Next up, speaking of someone DeFazian probably not going to sell much tickets, but he is an excellent player Abdul Carter for the New York Jets. Draft him Penn State award number 11. If you know about Penn State, they don't just give out a number 11. You have to earn number 11. Excellent player. I've seen in an interview. He said Michael Parsons, his guy. He asked him if he was going to wear number 11. He said I don't know about that. He's thinking about 56. And if you know about the New York Giants, you know 56 is. So my question to you we know he's a great player, he's going to be good. If you were a New York Giants owner, would you give him 56? Hell no.
Speaker 2:Next question Hell no.
Speaker 1:And for people, if you don't know what 56 is for New York Giants, that 56 belongs to Lawrence Taylor LT, the last person to win. He won MVP as a defensive player rookie, defensive rookie of the year, super Bowl champion, that guy movie star, he's just that dude.
Speaker 2:I don't think you give him 56 years, though. Look, not you, not you. But do you know who Lawrence Taylor is? Man? Lawrence Taylor, man, I feel Lawrence Taylor hitting me when he's hitting the quarterbacks and I'm watching him on YouTube. Nah, bro, I felt that lick. Nah, you didn't get 56. Nah also because, come on, man, like you said, lawrence Taylor is legendary. We talked about legendary earlier. Lawrence Taylor is the definition of legendary on that defensive side of the ball. No, I'm not giving you 56.
Speaker 1:Lawrence Taylor is also the reason why the left tackle is the second highest paid usually the second highest paid position on the field because of what he did to Joe Tosh Ooh wee.
Speaker 2:Did you see my face? And you know it was bad when Lawrence Taylor knew it, soon as he.
Speaker 1:Hey, y'all might wanna y'all might wanna come back and bring that card out nah, man, but nah, I wouldn't give him 56, he can wear 57. Oh there. So Johns did one thing. But before we get back to what Johns did later in the draft I got to talk about my Cowboys.
Speaker 2:We drafted Tyler Booker.
Speaker 1:We have to. It's quick. It's just quick, real quick. I just want to point out we got Tyler Booker. I was a little disappointed. I felt just quick, real quick. I just want to point out we got Tyler Booker.
Speaker 1:I was a little disappointed. I felt like Jerry gave me broccoli. I need it. You know broccoli's healthy for you. You nice, but we have some glaring needs like receiver and quarterback and running back. We didn't get the receiver, we didn't get a running back, but we got a good guard to replace Zach Martin. My only problem with it is we signed a gazillion offensive linemen, a lot of veterans, a lot of not great offensive linemen but capable of starting offensive linemen just to sign him. Great pick, a little disappointed, I understand it. But also, I got to start training, though, because I'm sure they're going to have some type of receiver tryouts. So I'm about to start back training again and then I'm going to head on to Dallas, because there's got to be some type of tryouts, because right now all they got is CD Lim, a bunch of guys named Jalen and that's it for Dak to throw the football. So I'm about to start training and get ready for them tryouts.
Speaker 2:So here's the thing I'm sure y'all need. You know you talking about y'all. On the positive no, you go ahead and go, I'm ready for the jokes. Look man, when I see him get drafted and he hit that cowboy, simple. I was like whoa, you too excited to never play in February, like you are too excited to never play in February. Look man, you hit that logo and I'm happy for the man. He got drafted. Shout out to that man. But no, you're going to go be mediocre for the rest of your career, pretty much Like that's what you just signed up for is to be you know, even if he ain't mediocre, the result is going to be mediocre for the Cowboys.
Speaker 2:Hey man, shout out to that man. I'm happy for him. Still, come on, bro, you too excited. That boy was shimmying and stuff like, oh shit, I'm drafted, he goes. He's going to get down to Dallas. It's going to be fun because I heard Dallas was nice. You know what I'm saying. I heard Dallas was nice. He's going to get down to Dallas. He's going to be living the life. He's going to be done in January. He's going to be done in January. He's going to be done in January. He might as well start booking his vacations now, booking in Cuba next year.
Speaker 1:But sure Shout out Tyler Booker, welcome to the team. You have a fan in me. Just protect that Prescott and open up some holes for whoever's running the Rock. I'll be down there in a couple weeks for this receiver trial that they have, but let's go ahead and move on to the New York Giants.
Speaker 2:Nah, he was just playing tickets to Columbia already for the offseason. That's why you know what. That's why he was excited. He was like man. You know how many vacations I'm going to go on? I hate it All right. I'm sorry I hate it.
Speaker 1:You're not technically wrong, but I hate it. Okay man going to be on so big.
Speaker 2:Boy he going to be living a life. All right, I hate it, man going to be on so big Boy he going to be living his life.
Speaker 1:All right Back to the New York Giants. So, and we got to talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers as well, we got to talk about quarterbacks. Obviously, ken Ward went first. Then there was a long stretch there where there was no quarterbacks. So, going into the NFL draft, people thought Shador could go to the New Orleans Saints at nine, didn't? They thought a quarterback could go to the Saints at nine they didn't. They thought the Pittsburgh Steelers could get a quarterback at 21. They didn't. The thing about the Pittsburgh Steelers y'all have Mason Rudolph as your starting quarterback right now.
Speaker 2:They're going to draft somebody.
Speaker 1:I hope they do. They don't have a pick in the second round.
Speaker 2:They waiting on Aaron Rodgers. That's what they waiting on. Why y'all waiting on Aaron Rodgers? I do not know.
Speaker 1:So they decided to pass on him. And then the New York Giants decided to trade back into the first round to the 25th pick and everybody knew it was going to be a quarterback. Everybody thought Shador decided to trade back into the first round to the 25th pick and people, everybody knew it was going to be a quarterback, everybody thought it was going to be Shador. But they end up drafting Jackson Dart. Shout out to Jackson Dart, got it. Me personally, from my perspective, I had Shador as my number two quarterback. I had Kent Ward, I had Shador, then I had Jackson Dart and Tyler Shuck somewhere in the same area, also. Shout out to Tyler Shuck. He also was drafted. He got drafted by New Orleans Saints. As of this moment, tyler, as of this moment, shador is still on the board. What is your thoughts about this whole quarterback situation?
Speaker 2:and Shador still being on the board. Okay, so Jackson Dart, like I was about to tell you before we pause, I watched him twice this year, right, and I remember everybody was hyping him up early in the college football season that he was going to be a high draft pick. I watched him twice. I didn't see it like honestly, I didn't see it. But I was't see it Like honestly, I didn't see it. But I was like you know these dudes, you know they get paid to do this, they know more than me. But then the season plays out, the draft process plays out. Cool, he's like the fourth or fifth quarterback in most people's rankings. You traded back in the first round to get him and you got Shador and Shuck sitting there. Imagine I watched a lot of Tyler Shuck. I'm a little fan. I've seen him. You can't help but see Shador Sanders as well.
Speaker 2:You can't help but see him. Dion made them much watched, so you watch them as well. I've seen more of them, but but that's still being said. I think they both was better options than Jackson Dorn. Hell, I think, hell, I think Quinn Uris is a better option than Jackson Dorn, but yes, not yeah.
Speaker 2:That's neither here nor there. And hell, they got the. I was ready to shift no shade on the dude that played at Syracuse, but I don't know. They saying he's better than him, oh, of course, yeah, I don't. I definitely don't see that one either. He looks the part but he don't. He don't play the part.
Speaker 2:But no, I didn't understand and I also didn't understand. So I didn't understand the Steelers not taking a quarterback, knowing they needed a quarterback, but it's kind of hard to say that. So prayers to the man. I want to make sure I get his name right Derek Harmon. He got drafted by the Steelers. He lost his mother today after he made it to the hospital to tell her he got drafted. So I don't want to come down on the people too hard. So I mean, I think I would have won quarterback if I was them. But they, you know, they got that young man, you know, first him and his family. So but yeah, no man, I don't understand the Giants. That is the one I don't understand, because you traded back in the first running game.
Speaker 2:I, like I said, personally I would have took Shador or Shook. I would have took Shook, if I'm being honest.
Speaker 1:Shook has been getting a lot of hate from some people. Most of the hate for Tyler Shook is he's 25. He'll be 26 soon. Very good, very valid criticism. Like you, I watched a lot of Tyler Shook. I thought he was an excellent quarterback. I thought he was the best quarterback that we've had since, obviously, lamar Jackson. I think he was the best arm that we've had since Teddy Bridgewater Some high-quality quarterbacks right there Washington. I thought he was a third, fourth-round quarterback considering his age, but with that quarterback tax there's a quarterback tax out there I feel like he was a second round. So I feel like Tyler Shuck got drafted where he probably should have. I still would have took Shador, because I think Shador can do pretty much what Tyler Shuck is. Tyler Shuck is probably a little bit more athletic.
Speaker 2:I was going to say I think that's the difference. He's more athletic.
Speaker 1:He's a little bit more athletic, but Tyler he hasn't. Since his freak injuries he hasn't been wanting to show it because he's broke his vibria, he's broken his collarbone. So that's one thing, but both of them has excellent arms. I know there's been some bad passes out there from the combine they show with Tyler Shook. He's had a couple bad passes. Patrick Mahomes threw some bad scissors in the dirt too. It happens. Just turn on the film with Tyler Shook. We don't care about the umpire. Turn on the film. He was a great quarterback. There's two throws that I look at all the time. It's that throw against Notre Dame when he rose to his left and got blasted and hit the receiver in the back of the end zone, and then another one against Miami where he threw one through the car wash and hit Ja'Cory Brooks in the end zone. He's got an arm. He's going to a good place with a good coach. Not necessarily a good place, because the Saints is in Southern Camp Hill, but he's got a good coach in Killingmore.
Speaker 2:You think he has the?
Speaker 1:potential to start.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, he's got Derek Carr. Who Carr? Yeah, they got Derek Carr. Who's talking about who's hurt, who may not even play next season? You got Herring or something. And there's some other guy, oh, spencer Rattler. Spencer Rattler, like Joe Henning or something like that, and Derek Carr. I think he can compete with Spencer Rattler and Joe. Okay, so start day one. I don't know, I think he has a chance to. We'll see in the preseason, though Jackson Dart, even if he looks ready, you have Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson. You have two bridge quarterbacks. One bridge quarterback getting hurt, you can throw another bridge Like Jackson Dart may not see the field this year.
Speaker 2:And they got Tommy DeVito, still on the roster, tommy DeVito, is about to be on the practice squad. We know what's coming for him. He's about to be on the practice squad. We know what's coming for him.
Speaker 1:He's going to be on the practice squad but at this point where do you see that Shador could go? Because I was thinking, raiders, they're creeping up. I'm looking at draft now. They're creeping up on the third round. I haven't seen any word of him being drafted. Ravens on the clock. They're obviously not going to get him. They have a starter in Lamar Jackson and they got a backup in Cooper Rush, denver's next. They're not going to get him. Washington's up. They're not going to get him. Chicago, kansas City and Philly.
Speaker 2:Cleveland is third round 67-6. And the Raiders, and the Raiders is right behind them, and you think Pittsburgh and the Raiders? Then the Raiders is right behind them, and you think Pittsburgh pick 83?.
Speaker 1:Pittsburgh. If it gets back to Pittsburgh, there's no way they don't get them.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I was going to say they got to take the game, but they're the only teams that I can think of that needs a quarterback, unless the Rams want somebody to sit. I like that.
Speaker 1:Because how many more years do you think Stafford got?
Speaker 2:One, I would say two, I'd give him two.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so I definitely wouldn't mind that. That's a perfect place to sit behind.
Speaker 2:Yeah, because then there ain't no pressure. You can just learn the game. Yeah, if I'm shooting, I think about it and it's where I want to go. Let me go sit in.
Speaker 1:LA, la. I ain't been, but I heard it's nice.
Speaker 2:Yeah, let me go sit in LA. Yeah, I heard it's nice. I heard it's real nice.
Speaker 1:Oh no, but my only complaint about the NFL draft y'all take so damn long between them picks dog Too damn long. Y'all need to fix that.
Speaker 2:Please fix that they say it's seven minutes in between picks. No, the hell, it's not, it's like 20.
Speaker 1:Yes, all the ads. So obviously y'all got Ken Ward. What else do you think the Titans should get Any players you've been eyeballing?
Speaker 2:Well, we just picked up an edge. I'm going to go back to we need a running back. I'm going to keep saying it. I'm going to keep saying it. I'm going to keep saying that Just pick the running back offensive line. That's it. That's what we need. Secondary could always be better, but I ain't worried about that right now. Give me a running back. Please give me a running back.
Speaker 1:All right, so let's go ahead and shift gears to the NBA playoffs. I mean crazy, as the NBA playoffs, it's kind of crazy, nfl draft is kind of take precedent over the NBA playoffs. I mean crazy, it's the NBA playoffs, it's kind of crazy, nfl drafts kind of take precedent over the NBA playoffs, don't you think?
Speaker 2:It's football. It takes precedent. Hurry Hell, they take it over Christmas. It's just so vicious.
Speaker 1:So we're about two, three games in, depending on which series you're looking at. The Celtics lead the Magic two games to none. The Indiana Pacers lead the Bucs two games to none. My question for you, real quick Q how do you feel that the Indiana Pacers have a chance to put the wooden stake in the Bucs and send them back to franchise property?
Speaker 2:I can't wait. No, I can't wait. Ooh, nah, for real. Listen, you know I love me some Dame, but Dame in street clothes in game one, talking to Tyrese Like well, come on, man, what we doing, what's the shade for? What's the shade for? What's the shade for? Then, game two, tyrese was like yeah, you know, you, one of the ones that put me as the most overrated player in the league.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:All right, now we got to prove a point. And then you know, with the whole free throw situation last year, it's always an issue with the Bucs, so I will be led if we can close out these series. But I was always taught don't count your chickens before they hatch. So you know, we'll see how it goes. I'm not going to speak too much. I'm not going to speak too much. We currently are leading the head test, giannis.
Speaker 1:he's talking like if hey, if this don't go well, he might get up out of there and if that happens, back to franchise property. Milwaukee goes, unfortunately. I got that one ring. That's all I can say.
Speaker 2:Because they went all in. Now they got an expensive, old team. That's the problem. Their team is old and expensive. You can't be old and you can't do both. That's a double-next. It's got to be either old you got to be old and cheap, or expensive and young, because then you got time to grow and develop. Them dudes is old.
Speaker 1:Some of the other other playoff series. The Cavs lead the Heat 2-0. That'd probably be a sweep. The Nuggets probably the best series, Nuggets and Clippers. The Clippers lead the Nuggets 2-1. I want to say something. I want to see your reaction. I may have put a bet slip out for the Nuggets to make it to the NBA Finals you just got money to waste. Hear me out, man, hear me out. You don't think that can happen. Nah, for real, honestly. Did I say Nuggets, I meant Clippers.
Speaker 2:Oh, okay, I was going to say I apologize, I meant Clippers.
Speaker 1:I have a for the Clippers to make it to the NBA Finals.
Speaker 2:If you was talking Nuggets, I was going to pause this podcast right now and be like all right, bro, what's up? You know what I'm saying? What's up? Hey, they got these numbers. You know what I'm saying. I ain't going to judge you, bro, let's work on this. I'm here for you, dog. But with it being the Clippers, I mean I can see it because I got to tell you, as far as finals being the Clippers, I mean I can see it because, like I told you as far as finals, they was in my top five of the team that I think could make it to the finals. You know, you got Cleveland and Boston, you got Oklahoma City, I thought the Warriors before.
Speaker 1:Jimmy got hurt.
Speaker 2:I thought the Warriors was going to make some noise. I no longer think that. I no longer think that whatsoever. Because, for real, now, without Jimmy, is Steph Curry in the miracles like Danny Manning? Jermaine ain't the same Jermaine. They benched Kaminga so he ain't doing it no more. Back to the Clippers. I understand why you got the Clippers because, like I said, I think I had a feel. Yeah, I want to say I had a feel. So, yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they make it to the finals.
Speaker 1:I just want to make sure I wasn't crazy.
Speaker 2:No, because, in fact, the only thing within me is if they helped, because James Harden he typically plays a lot of games but he has some injuries, scars here and there too. Then you know, kawhi Kawhi will put 30 up tonight and then the next game be like hey, I'm done for the season. So you don't really know what it is with Kawhi. That's the only thing that would make me pause with banking on him is because of the fact you're banking on Kawhi being healthy, because once Kawhi is no longer healthy, that bet is no longer good. As long as he's healthy, you know you got a strong chance to. You know, bring that in.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and really my goal is. My real goal is get them to give me a good cash out. So I just want them to get as far as possible. I want to see if they can make it to the Western Conference finals and cash out. That was my goal. Put $10 down, it'll win me like $250. If I can get a good cash out for like $100 something, that's a win. That's all.
Speaker 2:I respect you, I respect you, I respect you. You have been devil. I don't, I respect that, I respect that. But you have said devil, oh boy boy.
Speaker 1:I don't believe in devil after devil, they pun for next season, but it's still going to be a great series. The Clippers lead 2-1. Rockets Warriors tied at 1-1. You done on the Warriors.
Speaker 2:Without Jimmy? What are we doing? Like, being honest, what are we doing? They shot Kaminga. If I'm Kaminga, I don't want to play her no more, and part of me thought they was doing that so that nobody would bid on him in the offseason as much money, so then they could max his sheet. But at the same time, at this point, if I'm Kaminga, listen, don't match. Please don't match. I don't want to be here. Yeah, give me that. Y'all benched me for the playoffs. Listen, I helped get y'all to where y'all was at and as soon as Jimmy Butler come in, yes, jimmy Butler is about to play, but y'all just basically got rid of me.
Speaker 2:Y'all need young dudes that can get their own shot. That's what Kaminga is. Y'all need young dudes that can get their own shot. That's what Kaminga is. He needs to bother his head a lot, yes, but if you give it to him as spurs, it can take some pressure off. Steph and Jimmy. You're right, I don't see Carson Smart dude, and you know I'm not. He's a Hall of Famer as far as coaching. He's a Hall of Famer. Well, far as coaching, he's a Hall of Famer. I don't understand this at all. I just I don't understand this at all. I ain't saying Duke got to be the starter, but give Russ some six minutes, six minutes.
Speaker 1:Give him something Because he was a good player. Man, come on, I don't know what they're doing. I don't know what they're doing.
Speaker 2:Now you're banking on him to get mentally checked back in when you took him out the rotation.
Speaker 1:Yep, yep. So let's go ahead and talk about one more series the Lakers versus the Timberwolves, Top 1-1. Ant-man dominated game one, the Lakers. They won game two. You think the Lakers can pull it off? Or you think Ant-Man going to go ahead and put them out to passers? Because game one the Lakers didn't look good. Game two, neither of the teams looked good. But they're back in target center.
Speaker 2:Okay, so here's my thing about this. All right, who does the Lakers have that can go ahead to the L's? Jordan Phoenix Smith. He's a good defender, and so is Vanderbilt. I was going to call him V8, but I know there's nobody at V8. Vanderbilt, I know they're good defenders, but they ain't stopping Anthony Edwards. But then, in turn, who is going to go at? Julius Randle?
Speaker 1:Because they ain't got nothing for him.
Speaker 2:They ain't got nothing for him, neither one of them. So I don't understand why Minnesota is not using them two to attack more, more. So I personally think Minnesota should win. I think Minnesota should win this series in six. Personally, I think they should win it in six, but it's based on Julius Randranda and Anthony Edwards playing like stars and Anthony Edwards playing like a superstar. If that don't happen I mean there is Luka and LeBron on the other side.
Speaker 1:Like you don't want to put that man and looking like it it looks like Tim Wills, and they did it last year, they letting Luka get what he want. You going to go for 40, go for 40. We don't care, we're going to try to slow down everybody else.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but you can't do that. That's going to be kind of hard to do. When you got LeBron and Austin Reeves at her playing like a house star, yeah, if you're going to do that, okay, luka get his, but LeBron better not come out here with 20 points. Yeah, alex.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:You can't let Austin Rivers get off and and Luka get off. No, if that's going to be your choice, to let Luka get his LeBron and Russo got to shut it down. I was going to say Russo, this is not a WWE, oh man.
Speaker 1:But NBA now. We've talked about it a lot. These first couple games, especially the first round, it's like, eh, I ain't got locked in yet, though it's tough to get locked into the NBA playoffs around this time. It's tough.
Speaker 2:I think one thing that's hurting. It is because, let's be honest, the only really two good series is New York and Detroit, and then Denver and Cleveland. Because it's a simple fact, like you said, cleveland about to sweep Miami, jai got hurt. So the Memphis, they was about to win game three, they was up 29.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you be a taker, I'll say it.
Speaker 2:Look 29. That's up. And then, as soon as Jai got hurt, that evaporated. They act like they couldn't make a shot without Jai, which they won a bunch of games without Jai, but so that's a sweep, so it did.
Speaker 1:Celtics Magic a sweep.
Speaker 2:That's about to be a sweep too. So four of the series is about to be sweeps. And then, like I said, you don't count your chickens before they hatch, but right now like you said, going into halftime of game three, indiana's up by 10 points. So you know what I'm saying. It's only two real good series right now.
Speaker 1:Yep, very, very, very crazy. But NBA is going to get a little bit better. We will be locked in the closer we get to the NBA Finals. You know how, from our perspective, does around the NBA Finals we be locked in. The closer we get to the NBA Finals, you know how, from our perspective, does around the NBA Finals, we'd be locked in. Also, you know. Closing in to the end of the second round, kansas City Chiefs just took a pick. Philadelphia has the next one to end the second round. Still no Shador Sanders. He will be a third-round pick, more than likely. We will see what happens. But we won't be on the air when it happens. But hopefully he gets drafted to a good team. Shout out to him. But that'll do it for an episode of From my Perspective, I'm your boy Deion.
