Welcome, welcome, welcome back to another episode of. From my Perspective, I'm your boy Deion coming to you as we're giving you our live reaction of Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers. You know I'm joined by the man, the myth, the legend himself Captain Hayden. How you doing?
Speaker 2:Man, you're right, not advised. It's your boy, Mr Bell, aka say your name up on the spot, Trying not to put you to mock.
Speaker 1:Big Captain Hayden's not feeling great right now, because I know I was in the At halftime. I was looking for my broom. I was struggling to find it, though, but good thing I didn't find it, as the Knicks come back from a 20-point deficit against the Pacers to win 106 to 100, as we will have five games at least as the Pacers do lead 2-1. Also, you know who's in here the New York Knicks fan himself, quagg, as I'm sure he's happy that the brooms have been put up. How you feeling?
Speaker 3:Hey man, I'm feeling good's happy that the brooms have been put up. How you feeling? Hey man, I'm feeling good about this win. I mean, I ain't going to say I'm feeling good about it because it's basically the same blueprint Games that we supposed to win. We got to learn how to close, that's it.
Speaker 1:Well, yeah, y'all close this one out, y'all hit, y'all free throws. This one is hard to say. I think the Pacers took their foot off the gas. They probably got a little too comfortable because they dominated the second quarter. You could tell the fans they was probably throwing a party. They was probably already trying to figure out what tickets or what they going to wear for game three of the Western Conference, I mean of the NBA Finals as a whole. They're scheduling hotels to OKC or Minnesota, but they're going to have to hold off on that for at least another game. That second quarter was dominant by the Pacers, but second half the Knicks just chipped away and they finally closed one out. And I'm a little bit surprised because Jalen Brunson, he got that fifth foul in the fourth quarter and he didn't play a lot in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 1:He didn't come in until like two minutes and 30 seconds left in the game.
Speaker 3:He came in with eight and then they pulled him after he got their last foul.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he didn't come back in. I was shocked about that, but it worked. Thibodeau did change up his starting lineup, tried to change some things up. He put Mitchell Robinson in the starting lineup, josh Hart on the bench. But I got to say, especially for that fourth quarter, and defensively Josh Hart was definitely the MVP. But I got to ask the Pacers fan how you feeling I'm sure you was looking for your broom, just like I was at halftime how you feeling after the New York Knicks shipped away?
Speaker 2:Honestly, I wasn't looking for the broom at halftime because we was up at 20. Had the whole little situation. The next thing, you know, by the end of the half we up at 13. Everybody else is happy. I'm like, nah, y'all done, effed it up. I knew at the end of this, going into the end of the second half, I knew it was Curtis. I mean, we still going to bond, we're going to have the opportunity. But then also, with Neesmere not being able to play until late in the fourth quarter, it was like all right. So our best defenders out and y'all are feeling yourself, what'd I say? The last series we lost to Cleveland at game three. At least we didn't get blown up this time. So I take that. But nah, man, I knew then. I knew it was courage. Am I happy about it? No, because you want to put the pressure on me. You want to go and get New York up at the paint.
Speaker 1:You can't play around with New York. No, you can't, man, honestly, and you can definitely see why you can't because they got some dogs on that team. They pulled it out, they didn't blink. They was down 20, brought down a 13. And I said they just kept fighting to win this one. I know they feel good, they feel relieved, because the story of this game was no team has ever came back from a 3-0 deficit. But we're going to have to find out if the New York Knicks can, because they're not down 3-0, but they're down 2-1. So, q, you still got paces of six.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you know I ain't changed my mind.
Speaker 1:Nothing slightest Quag you changing your mind. You said Knicks in seven, last episode.
Speaker 3:I said Knicks in seven, we going Knicks in six, we going to win these Knicks three.
Speaker 1:All right, he said he's going to win these Knicks three.
Speaker 3:His raps.
Speaker 2:All right, hold on, tap out, tap out In what? All right, hold on, tap now, tap now. In what world did you see in this? What did you see in this game that makes you think y'all going to beat us four?
Speaker 3:I ain't going to lie. I seen the same thing I done seen for the first two games, but the only thing you think that's going to be different.
Speaker 3:I take it back. The only thing I saw different. And apparently that's when we operate our best, when we go down 20. That's when we decide that we need to take off and win the game. When that 20 hit, when that 2-0, it's like, oh, we're going to get skunked, let's go on and turn it around. That's the only time I see us do the thing like that. Like I said, man, I'm not going to hold you. I like how TF changed the lineup up. He actually threw the bench in. He had Shamit playing minutes. He had DeLon Wright still in the league, by the way, playing minutes, you know.
Speaker 2:McBride still, you know he get his minutes already. Mcbride's with one y'all, McBride and Townsville is with one y'all. This game.
Speaker 1:Especially Cat. Oh, don't know, he got hype out of nowhere.
Speaker 3:Did he boy that kitty was purring?
Speaker 2:Yeah, but speak on the kitty. That's your dog.
Speaker 3:I'm saying, bro, I mean like you, I'm just going out with what you said Cat's a great player. What do you expect?
Speaker 2:He's a great offensive player.
Speaker 3:Hey, cat is cat man.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so obviously we know how the Knicks win. I'm going to ask the Pacers fan what do you think happened outside? Y'all took your foot off the gas, like who do you think didn't step up? Who do you think was the reason y'all lost this game?
Speaker 2:We got Kagi, you go up by 20, or even going up 13 and a half. You think New York don't lay down and let us take it? No, that's not the case. They going to continue to fight. They going to bottle that too.
Speaker 2:The other thing I will say is this game was a New York Knicks pace. This ain't our pace. We run up and down. We get up and down the court. Like I've been saying, we attempt to break souls, we attempt to wear you out. We intend to break you down. We didn't do that this game. We started walking the ball up the court. We we didn't do that this game. We started walking the ball up the court. We're not a half-court offense. That's not how we operate. We run, and if we do get in the half-court, it's all about ball movement, which we've seen it a little bit, but it's not consistent enough, especially when New York stepped up their defense. This game as well, new York played like. This is game seven. They threw out the bench players. They fought for early loose ball. They fought to get over every screen. They fought for rebounds. Josh Hart got benched and realized oh man, I'm still Josh Hart, this is what I do. I'm a scrappy dude. We didn't match their intensity. Like I said, we got comfortable.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I agree with you, man, man, because both teams are playing great defense. A Pacers team of this era only scoring 100 points is like what happened. Was y'all sick? Because they never score less than like 115. That's how fast-paced they are. But, like I said, they played the Knicks pace. It worked out for the Knicks. We have the Knicks as your Game 3 winner. Any more thoughts on the Eastern Conference Finals before we slide over to the Western Conference Finals?
Speaker 2:Man bases are sick.
Speaker 1:That's how I like it.
Speaker 2:That's how I got that's all, I got Pacers on six. That's crazy. You don't even believe that for real, it's still Pacers. Why wouldn't I? Why wouldn't I? We didn't close that, we didn't close and we got lazy. If we had not got lazy, this game it's 3-0.
Speaker 3:No offense, I mean, I can get it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, if you had not got lazy and got complacent, is there real life? We got big-headed. If we had not got big-headed, if any other places had not got big-headed, it's 3-0.
Speaker 1:But they didn't do that Well. Honestly, if you're a Pacers fan, just hope that they've woken up and that cockiness has. They have been humbled and that cockiness has come out. But let's go ahead to the western congress finals where minnesota they actually put up a fight, or more than a fight. They threw a haymaker as they put belt to ass against the okc thunder 143 to 101. Most of the starters did not even play in the fourth quarter. It was that bad of a blowout. So so that series is 2-1 in favor of OKC. Me and you talked about it, q Minnesota had to show us something and they showed us something. That first quarter. Ed Mann went berserk with 12 points in that first quarter. He finished the game with 30 and nine rebounds. He did his thing and he had the others showing up and OKC couldn't hit nothing. They couldn't hit the barn next to they couldn't hit the barn. So it was just bad for the OKC Thunder as a whole, but they're still up 2-1. What's your thoughts on that Western Conference series over there?
Speaker 2:Well, I said that Minnesota was going to get one. If I remember correctly, you was the one that said it was a sweep.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I said it was going to be a sweep. I said I need to see what they do in that first quarter. If they don't look right, it's going to be a sweep. But they showed out in that first quarter.
Speaker 2:Quag. If I remember right, Deion ain't still picked the Indiana-New York series too, right I'm?
Speaker 1:sticking with Pacers in five. I had Pacers in six. I'm sticking with Pacers in five. I had Pacers in six. I moved into Pacers in five.
Speaker 2:I'm going to stick with Pacers in five. I ain't going to lie, I don't remember that. Did you remember that?
Speaker 3:Because I don't remember you saying that he could have said it last series, but I just remember him being like I'm on the fence, okay, cool, I'll wait until game seven.
Speaker 2:That's what.
Speaker 1:I thought I said I would like it to go to a game seven. Okay, then after game two I was like Pacers in five.
Speaker 2:Okay, but I know you Minnesota, I know Minnesota. Okay, see, you said it was going to be a sweep.
Speaker 1:Looked like it Okay, but you know it won't be the first time.
Speaker 2:Nah, you know it's how we are. We don't know, we're just. But now, like you said, it was all about Ant. And then I like, can I say that I like how Ant lifts up his other teammates, like he one of the one-stop players, that when his teammates do something big, he be the first one over to dab them up. Compared to other-stop players, they just be like, give them a little fist bump and then go on. Now Ant is excited when the others do great things as well, so that gives more confidence to the others. I'm excited to see game four. Now, if you at the game two, like me, I said, you know you didn't really want to keep tuning into this series because it looked like Minnesota was just like me, I said, you know you didn't really want to keep tuning into this series because it looked like Minnesota was just, you know, ready for Cancun to pop out.
Speaker 2:But, I'm excited to see how the first half plays out in game four. Does OKC go back to a certain day dominance or does Minnesota show that this 41 point well, 42, actually 42 point a win in Game 3 was not a fluke Like we? Actually, this is the team that people see. This is the team that made it to the conference finals last year. Just like the Pacers, we prove it, we battle, test it. So I'm excited to see how Game 4 stores out. That's it. I think I want to pick Minnesota, but I don't know if I'm going to do it. No, I mean, I got to pick Minnesota, but I don't know if I'm going to do it.
Speaker 1:I got to stick with OKC.
Speaker 2:I can't just in game.
Speaker 1:4 on game 4. On game 4, okc is not going to come out as bad as they did and it's going to be hard to see if Minnesota can replicate what they did in game three, because those games don't come often, especially in the playoffs. You probably get one or two of those in a playoff run. Most games you have to grind it out, you know, win in the final two minutes, like the Pacers and Knicks series. That's pretty much every game they've been grinding out in the final two minutes. The three games in the OKC series, the West Coast Final Series, they've just been ugly blowouts All three. So I'm sure they're due for a closed battle. I'm going to say game four is going to be a closed battle, but I'm going to go with OKC. Okay, yeah.
Speaker 2:I'm still going. I want to go Minnesota, but the way OKC looked throughout the year makes me want to still pick OKC in game four, mm-hmm. So I'm going to stick with OKC. I'm going to have OKC win in game four, but I wouldn't be surprised if Randall balls out in game four. Yeah, he's due for another one. Yeah, they need him to get another one.
Speaker 2:Hey, real quick, can I address something real quick from the Facebook group chat? From the Facebook chat. There's a Lakers fan in the group chat. Well, he's not even a Lakers fan, he's a LeBron fan and he says that the Pacers got lucky that LeBron is in the West now, because LeBron would have stopped the Lakers I mean, stopped the Pacers from getting this far if LeBron was still in the East. What does that matter? It's just the back and forth. Yeah, lakers fan, I'm a Pacers fan. You know. All I'm going to say is LeBron's at home, the Pacers is playing. He in Cancun chilling, the Pacers is still playing. As soon as this pause up, I'm going to make a phone call, be like so is your team playing? What's LeBron doing? He had her playing pick-up with his kids in the driveway. Yeah, I mean, but I just wanted to address that.
Speaker 1:You go ahead. People are silly man. People love LeBron. I get it, he's one of the GOATs. I got him number two all the time. I understand it, but it don't matter, because he was at least because he's not. He's in the West. And not only is he not in the West, he's not in the playoffs, he's in Cancun.
Speaker 2:So it don't matter, he's at the crib Chilla, and that's where he's going to be at it don't matter.
Speaker 1:So both series are at 2-1 in favor of OKC, 2-1 in favor of the Indiana Pacers. Hopefully we can get some more games, some good series. I would like both of them to go seven. I know you probably want the Pacers game to end as fast as possible in the West Conference.
Speaker 2:Hey, I want this over. I need the Indiana versus New York to be over. I wanted it to be over Tuesday. I wanted to just win the night and the Tuesday. Hey, like, hey, all right, we done with the last. I was ready.
Speaker 1:Yeah, because I'm pretty sure I want to say June 5th is the first game of the.
Speaker 2:I can't remember if it's the 5th or the 7th or something like that, but I wanted this to be over. I didn't want them to keep. I don't want us to keep playing because, like, I don't want injuries, because Neesmith got injured and he missed a big chunk of that second half and then that's a rolled ankle. So he might be all right tonight Once he wake up in the morning. Bro might be in some pain. He might be struggling for game four, and that's not what. I want.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I mean, if this series goes to seven it'll be June 3rd, so I imagine probably the six or the seven is the first game of the NBA Finals. Y'all probably want a little extra rest.
Speaker 2:I would let's wrap this up. We could win in New York again.
Speaker 2:Let's win this up we could win in New York again. Let's win on Tuesday, then come back and win on Thursday. Listen, I love inside the NBA just as much as the next person, but I mean, look that contract's up. That's how I feel. That's how I feel, bro. Hey, let's wrap this up at noon. Let's wrap this up at noon. Nah, I don't want to keep playing because I don't want the rest of the injuries. And then I also want you know me, I want the rest to go seven games so I can entertain and watch that.
Speaker 1:I mean be entertaining, If it. Could you want that thing to go nine 11 would be great.
Speaker 2:You know what I mean. 11 would be awesome, dude, I ain't gonna lie, 11 would be awesome, but nah, but this was a good game. Taking my Pacers head off, taking my Pacers head off, it was a good game.
Speaker 1:It was an excellent game. For a while, like I said, I was looking for my broom. I was like man. That pace is about to blow me out. I was a little upset that the Western Conference game three was a blowout. I was like man because I went to sleep at the end of the fourth quarter when I realized the starters weren't coming in. I felt like this one could be the same way. I'm actually glad that it turned out to be a good game, because I like good basketball, I like close games, I like my heart racing, even though I don't have a dog in the fight. I like having my heart race because it's a close game back and forth and sometimes you get you a nice little buzzer beater or a crazy game like game one.
Speaker 1:I want those. I want seven of those actually Actually 14 of those, to be exact, from both games, but we didn't get those. It's rare you get one or two. Hopefully we get some more, but that'll do it for another episode of. From my Perspective, I'm your boy, deion. Please like, please subscribe. Hit that link in the bio to get you some merch. The people in the Facebook chat appreciate y'all joining us.
Speaker 2:I know it's a little late probably past y'all bedtime but it's Memorial Day tomorrow.
Speaker 1:I'm sorry, it's Memorial Day, hey some people like to sleep early, regardless. Sure, but Memorial Day is tomorrow. Y'all get to sleep in, go ahead and hop on that grill, make y'all some ribs, make y'all some mac and cheese. And I make y'all some mac and cheese. And I mean, if y'all cool with this, you know, save us a plate.
Speaker 3:We like to eat too, just saying Send a brother an invite, I'll pull up, yeah, yeah yeah, I'll trade my day.
Speaker 1:I'm looking for a pool to go to right now, just saying but again, I'm your boy, dion. Thank you for joining another episode of From Our Perspective Q.
Speaker 2:You already know the best. It's your boy, mr Bill. Aka say your name up on the spot. Might not put you to mom Real quick. I just want to get this off. June needs a holiday. Get one that's on like a Friday or a Monday.
Speaker 1:Okay, it's always on a Friday.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, yeah, If we could celebrate June it'd be recognized on that following Friday or Monday. That would be awesome, because I need to be awesome more. That's just selfish reasons.
Speaker 1:I'm about to sleep in, but I rarely get to sleep in past 9 o'clock.
Speaker 2:I don't know what sleeping in is. I'm still about to wake up at 7. It is what it is, it just is what it is. June holiday. You know what? That's what I want to say June team be recognized on that following Friday going forward so I can have a three-day weekend, because, as Black people, we deserve a three-day weekend Very selfish.
Speaker 1:Everybody does, but specifically Black people. Thank you.
Speaker 2:It's a holiday. I'm saying it. What did you want me? To say All right, man, we appreciate y'all, we'll get at y'all later.
