Speaker 1:

Welcome, welcome, welcome back to another episode of. From my Perspective, I'm your boy, Dion, coming to you and we got another WrestleHeavy show because it was a WrestleHeavy weekend. But you know, I'm joined by the man, the myth, the legend himself, Captain Hater. How you doing, Captain Hater?

Speaker 2:

Man, you already know the best of this show. Boy, mr Bell, aka say your name up on the spot, might not put you to my mind. What's going on, dale, it's going good.

Speaker 1:

I actually got some hay to do, but I'm going to save that for the end of the podcast because some stuff just kind of happened a little bit and it affects me or affects my fandom. But we get to that at the end of the show. We got to talk about the Russell Okay, go ahead. We got to talk about the Russell-heavy weekend that we had All in happened. From what I've seen the clips, I'll say I didn't watch the full show. I watched clips, kept up with it a little bit. From what I've seen, it was an excellent show.

Speaker 1:

Only downside that I've heard is that it was a long show. I think it started like one or two, then finished about eight. That's kind of ridiculous. But had a satisfying main event. Good for AEW. You gotta love it when there's another competition out there to make WWE better. But I just didn't watch it in full to give a full review. Great American Bash I ain't watching it. I'm the NXT guy and I ain ain't watching it. I'm the NXT guy and I ain't even watching it because I knew it was just thrown together. I just knew.

Speaker 1:

But we did have Saturday Night's main event which was headlined by Goldberg, but kind of the story was not as much Goldberg's final match as it was Seth Rollins. But before we get to Seth Rollins, goldberg, he had his final match and I got to give you your props. You was absolutely right. I thought they was going to go five. No more than like seven minutes they doubled it and went 14. Gunther did his thing, took Goldberg to a pretty decent match. To be 58 or 59 years old, that was a pretty good match. I'm not going to lie. A pretty decent match to be 58 or 59 years old, that was a pretty good match, I'm not going to lie.

Speaker 1:

From the entrance to the end I was thoroughly entertained, especially the entrance. It kind of warmed my heart like damn, he's out there with. You know the guy that first started him out with it, the old WCW security. He had his son with him. I think Goldberg has one of the best entrants. This the aura behind him coming from the locker room with the security guard, like okay, he better kill somebody. They need security. But outside of that decent match, goldberg finished his career in Atlanta. They did cut his speech off because you know it wasn't PLE, it was a network television, so they had to cut him short. He did finish it off off camera technically, but apparently Goldberg wasn't very happy with how things went. He wanted to be on the PLE, he was a little upset that they cut his speech and he wasn't as happy with the bill.

Speaker 2:

What was your thoughts on the whole Goldberg final match situation? Okay, so, like you said, the match was a pretty good match, especially given that you knew goberg got hurt in training leading up to the match. And then, like you said, goberg's 50 something years old. He don't do this every day. No, he ain't in wrestling shape on a consistent basis because he don't do it every day. So, for taking our lay lay into consideration, I think the match was a really good match.

Speaker 2:

It wasn't so much about Goldberg that I thought it was going to go long. It was more so about Gunther. Gunther can work with me and you and put on a fast start if he wanted to. That's just like I said him EO, acosta Oscar. I was going to say Acosta Oscar. Them three, they can put on a match. They work people. I was going to say work people. But you know what I'm saying. They workers. They put on great matches. That's what they do. So it was more so about me seeing like, oh, he got nothing. Yeah, it, they do. So it was more so about me seeing like, oh, he got Gumpa. It's going to turn out to be something special. It didn't to Jackhammer, he was able to do the Jackhammer on Gumpa.

Speaker 1:

He was a decent looking Jackhammer too.

Speaker 2:

Gumpa ain't a small dude. So for Goldberg to be able to land the Jackhammer, I thought it was something special. I think Chris Robinson, the referee, he done took a beat in the past couple weeks. He done took a beat Between John Cena and Danny Gaffer's fur. I think the match was a good match.

Speaker 2:

That being said, goldberg being upset that it wasn't a PLA you don't come around that often and it was one match. It'd be different if you had multiple matches leading up to something. You had one match. I'd be different if you had multiple matches leading up to something. You had one match. I didn't like the fact that it was a title match because they knew, you knew Guthrie was going to win. It was either Guthrie was going to win or Seth was going to come down and cash in. That was it. You knew it was those two options. And then being mad because the speech got cut off. Like you said, it's NBC. That ain't the WWE's fault. That's more of an NBC situation. They have hard outs. We're done at 10 o'clock. You're done at 10 o'clock. This ain't USA where they can just, you know, go over a little bit, Go do the overrun.

Speaker 1:

Nah they not doing that?

Speaker 2:

Nah, this ain't, but, like I said, it was a good match For. But, like I said, it was a good match.

Speaker 1:

It would have worked. Yeah, I know Goldberg. I'm willing to bet First off Goldberg's final match. It was a Vince promise. Triple H is just keeping that promise from whatever. It was a Vince promise, triple H kept it.

Speaker 1:

I'm pretty sure Goldberg had the option of where he wanted it at, what PLE maybe wanted it at. They probably asked if he wanted it at some slump, knowing that he probably wouldn't be the main event. He probably would have been somewhere in the midcard, probably wouldn't have been as hyped up because it was in New Jersey. He probably chose Atlanta because that's obviously his home place. That's where he's home. Like he said in the speech before tonight, he never lost there. I'm sure he had that choice and he chose to do it at Atlanta. It just happened to be a Saturday night at Atlanta. Sorry, that's just how the cookie crumbles your speech getting cut off Again. Like you said, nbc, they're getting out of there.

Speaker 1:

If you wanted a longer speech, make the match shorter. That's all they had to do. They didn't do that. You went 14 minutes. Most people didn't think he was going to go more than five. Me, I'm one of them. I didn't think he was going to go more than five. I would have been. I feel like a five-minute match would have been cool, but you gave us an excellent 14-minute match. So I had props to Goldberg. It might not have been how you wanted it, but a lot of wrestlers don't want to say it, but it looks like it was a possibility.

Speaker 1:

Kevin Owens that last match he had was his last match and he didn't know it. Big E his last match he's had. He might have been his last match and he didn't know it. Not everyone gets to dictate how they go out, but not everyone's going to get that John Cena treatment. You're not John Cena, like Draymond told Paul Pierce. I know you go work, but they don't love you like that dog. You're not John Cena. If you wanted that John Cena treatment, you wasn't getting that. I'm just sorry. Maybe not enough John.

Speaker 2:

Like you said, you got a retirement match and I'm not trying to be like nasty about it, but you got to be thankful that you was able to get a retirement match. That's not a guarantee in this industry and it wasn't like you got it on Raw. You got it on Saturday Night's Main Event. You got it on a special. Got it on Saturday Night's main event. You got it on a special. Is it a PLE? No, but you did get it on a special and if you want a better build to it, you should have gave them a longer run. You should have showed up more.

Speaker 1:

And honestly, with the whole better build thing WWE, they've been doing this microwave feud. These PLEs have been coming hot and heavy, so they've been doing these microwave feuds to get to these PLEs. That's part of the issue.

Speaker 2:

But you know, like I said before, it's the time to do the PLEs and do all of these shows, but it is on some. Okay, let's slow down and build each. Let's build every matchup. You don't got to build in between PLAs. You could have built, you could be building SummerSlam before Evolution came to it. Summerslam. You could have built like you did, like they said, john Cena and Cody Rhodes it's already. You already know what's coming because of the difference between John Cena and the guy, or the appearance between them.

Speaker 1:

That's another issue for another day. But we got to talk about the other big headline that came out of Saturday's night main event, Probably the biggest. Unfortunately, it looks like Seth Rollins got legitimately hurt, messed up his knee. He did basically like a swan tom into a moonsault, landed on his knee. Didn't look right. He was talking to Paul Heyman, a ref and a medical staff member, for about 90 seconds, Got up instantly, took a BFT from LA Knight. La Knight got the victory and got up out of that.

Speaker 1:

The way it ended, you knew, okay, that injury was real. There's no way they ended it on something like that. At first you think, okay, we watch wrestling a lot, we don't instantly think it's real, unless something crazy happens. I'm thinking, okay, maybe a little bit of work, Maybe he's trying to distract. Here comes Braun or the other. Braun Didn't happen. He got up, took that quick BFT. Oh, that's real, Yep. So with Seth Rollins being injured and seemingly he was on the Rich Heisman Show he seemingly doesn't know for sure what it is, but he knows his body and he knows it's probably going to be a while. Seth Rollins is basically a main character on Monday Night Raw. That is a huge loss. Where is WWE going to go from here, with Seth Rollins possibly in and out for probably six months or more?

Speaker 2:

So when I seen that he got injured, my instant thought was okay, do you? Well, my instant thought was because I thought Roman Reigns was coming out at Saturday Night's Main Event is that don't? You can't bring him out now because none of that will work, you boozy. So you know that backs that plan off. That was my instant thought. Then my next thought was okay, do you take the briefcase off of him? Briefcase off of him, because if you are going to be injured for four to five months, should they host at SummerSlam another money in the bank-type contract situation? Four to five months, I get that it's still within his year, but the briefcase does ask to you know overtime. So I wonder, I wonder, if they should do that or not. That being said, I see that they pivoted. They had no choice but to pivot. Yeah, so you know, roman and Jade, it looks like it's going to go against Bronson Reed and Brian Barker. So I mean that match is good.

Speaker 1:

Would have been nice for Seth Rollins. It would have been better if it was Seth. You get what I'm saying and it looks like, as Paul Heyman said, seth has to join. Looks like they're going to play into that trophy.

Speaker 1:

All right, as long as he's not out for over the period of time that he needs to cash in, we might as well keep it on him. I thought with you like, oh, they're probably about to have their own money in the bank match at SummerSlam. They got two nights Wouldn't hurt, but looks like they're going to keep it on sale. So we'll see what happens.

Speaker 2:

I do think they need to add somebody else to the statement, Especially if Seth Rollins is going to be out that long. Whatever this crew is going to be named or what it's going to be called, they need to add another member. Now. Who that other member is, I do not know.

Speaker 1:

Your guess is as good as mine, man.

Speaker 2:

I got names that pop up. A lot of people say Austin Theory and I see why they say that, but at this point I think Austin Theory is.

Speaker 1:

He too cold man. He too cold, he need to go on his baby face at this point I think Austin Theory is tapping.

Speaker 2:

He too cold man, he too cold. He need to go on his baby face. It's just where it is. Grayson Waller, he don't really fit.

Speaker 1:

Nah, there's a Bron and Bronson. They're both badasses. Grayson Waller he's, you know he's still. He's a slimy heel, cheater heel. He ain't Bronson Reed or Bron Strum or Bron Breaker.

Speaker 2:

I can't. I can see Carmelo Hayes. They need to do something with him. They need to do something. I can see Carmelo Hayes Hell, I can even see Rusev for a little bit.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he's hanging out with Sheamus right now. Yeah.

Speaker 2:

That is the definition of it. We ain't got nothing else for y'all to do, so y'all two go fight each other and make magic happen.

Speaker 1:

It's working. They're making magic happen. But I'm sure they wanted a little bit more meat to bite on. But it is what it is. But we'll see where WWE pivots to Now, summerslam is starting to shape up a little bit. Cm Punk he's going to face Gunter Obviously, john Cena he's going to face Cody Rhodes. You got a little celebrity match with Jelly Roll and Randy Orton versus Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul. Summerslam is starting to shake up. We are like two weeks away, so we'll see where it goes. Should be a pretty decent show. But we got to talk about the show of the weekend.

Speaker 1:

From my perspective, I know All In was great, had a great ending. It was long, but this show was great from top to bottom, not maybe one slight dud, but I just wasn't that interested in the match. The ending kind of threw me off a little bit. We'll get to that. Okay, cool, the ending threw me off. But the match was good as told.

Speaker 1:

But let's go ahead and get right into it. But I got to say the first time in Predictions history for the From Our Perspective podcast, we did finish with a tie. It wasn't supposed to be a tie into the main event. It was tied at 20 apiece. Ironically, me and Q had 7 prediction points on it, but I had EO, q had Rhea we'll get to what happened but obviously neither one of them won. So we have a tie. So I can't wait for the next PLE, because that's absolutely crazy. But shout out, goldberg. Goldberg was really. So I can't wait for the next PLE, because that's absolutely crazy. But shout out, goldberg. Goldberg was really the key to help you out because you got an extra point for him going over. I think. I say if he goes over seven minutes, I'll give you an extra point. So he did that. So shout out to Goldberg for Q. But let's go ahead and get into the match.

Speaker 1:

They started out with the Intercontinental Women's Title Match Becky Lynch Bayley and Lara Valkyria. They came in hot. They came in hot and ready. Becky Lynch ended up getting the victory, but the match was fire. They started out the PLA, how they're supposed to start. That was a fire match. It was excellent.

Speaker 2:

I think this was, this is going to be a current thing. I thought the match was excellent. I liked the pin when Becky rolled over to get Bailey for the 1-2-3. It was so smooth, bro, it was so smooth. I don't think I've ever seen something that smooth besides roman reign catching that mic. That one time brock lesnar threw it off. When I think of smooth things in the ring, them is the two things that pop up in my head, so that I'm I'm glad. I'm glad they had. I'm glad it started the show because people wanted the main event and I was like, nah, eo, eo and Rhea is EO and Rhea for a reason. You get what I'm saying, but I'm glad it opened the show because it set it, set a precedent for the show. And then I'm also glad on Monday night they, they continue, they continue with Bayley and Laura, and then Laura winning that match and she going on to face Becky at SummerSlam.

Speaker 1:

So that's going to be an excellent match at SummerSlam. But, like I said, it started out high man. I was like, okay, we in for a good one. And then we got the NXT Women's title match, jc James versus Jordan Grace. The match was cool, the match was good. I really wasn't that into it. But the ending kind of threw me off because you know, blake Monroe, formerly known as Mariah Mae from AEW, she was on the side helping out JC, helping out Jordan Grace, and then at the end she just decided to hit Jordan Grace with the belt, like in a lower back, and that just ended the match. I was like, oh dang, that kind of you know, good match kind of ended in a dud a little bit from my perspective. But I'm glad we got a heel, blake Monroe, aka Mirai Mary, because you know, like I said, I keep up with AEW a little bit and the way she made her money is as a heel. So we'll see if she can keep that going at WWE as Blake Monroe.

Speaker 2:

What was your thoughts? I'm not familiar with her game, but when I saw the backstage and Jordan Grace asked her I want you to be down there in my corner she's like I don't know this, your moment, blah, blah, blah. I said oh yeah, she can already do something. She can already do something. I saw her then I was like, oh yeah, she can already do something. But it also threw me off when we got to the match. She's taking out the tag team and I'm like, okay, you're going to do something, but why are you taking out the tag team? Like I don't want to. You know what I'm saying. Like I don't understand that situation. But then you turn on Jordan Grace, which again, I thought Jordan Grace was going to get the instant follow-up. It looked like she was going to have another NXT feud, so she's going to be down there a little bit longer. So, okay, cool, I guess she's going to be called up during the draft time. So I thought, like you said, I thought the match was good.

Speaker 2:

I did not understand the I'm going to attack the heels, but then I'm going to be a heel. I guess it's an. I'm going to look out for myself situation or my beef is with you. Whatever the case might be, I think it was a good match. It was a good match. It would be last if I was ranking them. Yeah, yeah, it would be last if I was ranking them. But, that being said, shout out to them. Shout out to NXT. I'm not saying I'm going to get around, I might actually start watch NXT Olympics.

Speaker 1:

I ain't going to lie, NXT is a little down right now, but that's because it looks like a draft is coming soon, so they're not trying to do too much. But let's get to NXT. Alum versus a legend Tiffany Stratton versus Trish Stratus. Trish is 49. Word, I don't know where it at, but she's 49. She looked excellent in the ring. She hit what she usually does. She even pulled out a moonsault. She didn't hit it, but she's 49, dog, that's all I can say. She's 49, and she pulled out this excellent match. Now I've been critical of Tiffany Stratton and her baby face character. It's not working for me, but she's still excellent in the ring. She still knows what she's doing. Between those ropes and Tiffany and Trish, they put on magic at the end of the match. Obviously, Tiffany won with the prettiest moonsault ever At the end of the match. It looks like Trish. She had a little bit of a moment. I know her contract is not officially off. I think she still goes through SummerSlam. So she might have a match at SummerSlam. She might not. No-transcript.

Speaker 2:

I don't know. I think she's going to come back At the end of the match. Yeah, you know they had the moment. You know the fans had the I appreciate you situation. But at the post show Trish kind of was like. You know, we'll see, I'm not saying I'm done, I'm not saying I'm not. I feel like Trish could be a champion at this point.

Speaker 1:

Part of me wanted her to win, to take it into SummerSlam against Jay, which we'll get to in a second, but it wasn't in the cards.

Speaker 2:

It wasn't in the cards, but I ain't going to lie. I could see Trish Dredd as a champion. Yep, like you know a lot of the old times, they come in. They had these matches, or these celebrities, they come in, they had these matches. All these celebrities, they come in, they had these matches. Nah man, I can see Trish as a champion and, you know, rocking with it for like a year or so. Yeah, I definitely can see her For at least six months. Look at it, yeah but excellent match.

Speaker 1:

Shout out to Tiffany Strat. Would like Trish to win, but it makes sense.

Speaker 2:

That was a business decision. It ain't what we wanted. It was a business decision.

Speaker 1:

Next match we're going to talk about Jay Cargill versus Naomi in one hell of a street fight or no-holds-barred fight. They started out hot and the spots that they had was crazy, like when Naomi kicked Jade while she was in front of the announce table and the sparks flew. That was crazy Jade. She took her nice little bump through the table but the finish came when Jade hit jaded on Naomi through the table and I was a little shocked that you know Jade won, considering she wasn't the first one. But because of what happened at the end of the show it kind of makes more sense that they did it like that Because you're trying to like get your mind out of Naomi's doing anything, get up out of there. So I like what they did. Match was excellent. Maybe put more women in some no-holds-barred match because they know what they're doing, they're excellent at it and they did a thing. We'll talk about another match that kind of went everywhere later in a little bit.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. So this match, this is the type of match Jay Fargill can exceed in, because it's all about power game, it's all about spots. She ain't got to be a technical wrestler. This shows why she's a prized possession when she became a free agent. This is the match that shows why Jade Fargill was so sought after. Because of matches like his, she never goes. I ain't going to say never, but more than likely she might not be the most technical wrestler, but these type of matches where she can show her power, her strength, her agility, her speed, her natural, god-given talents, this is the type of matches that you put Jay Fargill in and it reminds you of. Okay, that's why they did this and this is why they're pushing her for maybe a title shot Well, a title shot, not a title shot at SummerSlam to potentially win in this match. I'm excited to see what her and Tiffany do, because both of them are two athletic women. I want to see what they're going to do and how they put this match together.

Speaker 2:

As far as back to the Naomi Naomi going to deliver.

Speaker 1:

I failed to mention, though, bianca Belair. She was the special guest referee. They didn't really do much with that. I mean, she didn't overstep her role. She didn't overstate her welcome, she was just a ref out there. You figured they would put a little bit more story into that. They really didn't, but it's fine. What's wrong with getting Bianca on the show?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I was going to say they did the looks at the end and honestly that made me because Bianca wasn't in the Battle Royal. It makes me wonder if Bianca might not be cleared yet.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, she still had her finger taped. Wonder if Bianca might not be cleared yet. Yeah, she still had her finger taped up.

Speaker 2:

So Bianca probably wasn't cleared, but, like you said, this was just getting on the show. They gave the looks at the end between her and Jay. One of them is going heel. We just don't. We got to figure out which one it is and out and win the time for it, Yep.

Speaker 1:

Next up the WWE Women's Tag Team Fatal 4-Way. Obviously, you had Judgment Day, you had Alexa and Charlotte, you had the NXT team of Zarya and Soruka, and then you had the Kabuki Warriors, who I would have liked to win but they didn't. It is what it is, but excellent match. All teams did their thing. Sol Rooker she had her moment. She's going to be a star because, as long as she stays healthy, her athletic ability is going to take her very far. It looks like Charlotte and Alexa are enjoying this team up right now. You can just tell they're having fun. You can tell they're enjoying it. But Judgment Day did end up getting a victory over Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. They retained the titles. Judgment Day still holds all the titles. Shout out to Judgment Day. But the match was good. Charlotte I know she's happy because she's been getting booed out the building she's finally got a crazy pop. Crazy pop for the tag. When she got the tag, I forgot Hot tag. When she got the hot tag, she got a crazy pop. So shout out to Charlotte.

Speaker 2:

I know she's been wanting to get cheered again, so I'm glad Charlotte got that pop, because you listen to what she wrote in the Players Tribune and she's struggling Like she's struggling, like she was struggling. Is the blues for me or is the blues for Charlotte? Yeah, I'm struggling separating the two and it's starting to affect her mentally. So I'm glad she. Not only am I glad she got the pop, I'm glad she wrote that so fans could see into how she's feeling. The reception she got was amazing. People actually enjoyed her because she's she's good, she's a good wrestler.

Speaker 2:

You know what I'm saying? Um, you're right, her and alexis do they look like they enjoying it? It looks, it looks good. It's just I'm excited. Well, first off, let me, before I say what I'm excited about. Well, first off, let me say what I'm excited about. First off, let me explain. I want to shout out Soyuji, because we talked about the Great American Bash and I knew you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2:

She fought on SmackDown, did the Great American Bash, which I wasn't familiar with NXT, because I was complaining about why didn't they have this match on Evolution? But they didn. They have this match on Evolution, but they didn't have to defend on Evolution because she defended on NXT. I mean, she defended on the NXT PLE Great American Bash and then to come out and do it again later that night, like we gave Valkyra hers when she had that AAA event, and then she wrestled later on that night. I want to give so Ruchi her credit too. She the, and then she wrestled later on that night. I want to give Soar Ruchi her credit too. She's the MVP. She wrestled three times in, you know, two days, well, three days, well, three times in three days she wrestled. You know what I'm saying. That being said, I am excited to see who beats Judgment Day.

Speaker 2:

Are they just going to go with the easy Alexis and Charlotte, or are they going to create a storyline? Because they also fought the Kabuki Warriors on Monday night and they won because of Dom getting away. So I'm excited to see, okay, where do they go with this and who's going to dethrone them, and how long is Judgment Day going to be champions? They actually got me invested in the women's tag team championship for the first time in well, ever.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, pretty much, since they brought the titles in, because, golly, they ain't been doing nothing with it.

Speaker 2:

Well, take it back. So, Naomi and Sasha, they had me excited a little bit. They had me excited a little bit, they had me invested a little bit and you know what happened next. So I'm excited For the first time ever. I'm actually excited about the women's tag team championship, and the reason I'm excited it never was about the performers. It was because they didn't give no effort for storylines. They actually put a storyline in this and now I actually can see okay, it's possible for two, maybe three teams to actually be thrown these wins, and before it was just tag teams thrown together.

Speaker 1:

Yep, there's an odd day. We need to tag titles off y'all what y'all two doing in catering. Come on, we need y'all, so that's what they was doing.

Speaker 2:

And this match was excellent. Every match to me was either good to excellent.

Speaker 1:

Good to excellent. So we had a pretty decent battle royal, obviously 20-woman battle royal. Stephanie Valker she won it. Not shocking. I know we mentioned Nikki Bellew first. She would have had a chance. I believe she came. She was one of the fourth, fourth one, but Lash Legend she was definitely the MVP. She showed out for the NXT brand. You could tell the WWE's high on her. But I was Stephanie Valkyrie. She finished it off with the devil's kiss on the apron, got her up out of there. Excellent, but I mean somewhat predictable. But I enjoyed the ride to get there. We did. You enjoyed the ride to get there we.

Speaker 2:

But you know the thing, the final three. We should have thought about it. It was going to be one from NXT, one from Raw, one from SmackDown. If we really had sat back and took a minute and thought about it, that would have made so much more sense. It would have made sense for us to think about it, but we didn't. Honestly, lash wouldn't. But if I had to pick an NXT person, I wouldn't have picked Lash. I would have picked Jada Parker, because she's the one that's over on social media the most Lash. Don't get me wrong, she's over. But I would have assumed Jada Parker would have been the one.

Speaker 2:

I also think Lash is going to get called up or something. I thought Lash was basically called up. Then they released a tag team partner. That's another problem. But, like you said, the match, it was a good battle royal match. Nia Jax is going to be Nia Jax and those. I'm glad they let her get all those eliminations out. They let her get those, all those eliminations off. Let them pile up and let her. You know, I'm sure I got some dominance and it takes more than one person to get me down. I ain't just some weak one, because you know she get a lot of hate in the wrestling community all night, so I'm glad Nia Jax be able to get her stuff off. Yeah, man, shout out to Lash, lash. But you know, nikki Bella, I, bella. I really thought she was going to win, but at least win in the final three.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, at least she made it up there. Once it got to the final three, I was like Stephanie's winning, because obviously title matches online. At Clash of Paris Stephanie won, much deserved, she earned it. Stephanie is super over, super, super over.

Speaker 1:

But we got to get to the main event and that thing was 25 plus minutes of just a masterpiece. It was like Picasso was painting in front of me. That's how good EO Scott and Rhea Ripley was doing. They was doing their thing. Then we got the ref bump. I'm like ref bump who going to help one of these women? Like we don't need no ref bump in this match. And then it hit me, they trying to go out and do some extra stuff. So they went out into the crowd. Io, scott jumped off the steps, basically like a balcony type thing, came back. Rhea was giving Io that work, but Io just kept coming right back at her. And just Rhea. You can see Rhea getting frustrated in character, getting frustrated because obviously the story was she can't beat Io. She's trying to get that title back and Io's like girl, I can take it and give it right back to you and smile while I'm doing it. Like I said, 25 plus minutes of just pure excellence.

Speaker 1:

And then Naomi came out. I'm thinking what's she coming out for? I'm like she ain't going to really cash in. It's okay, she gave the briefcase to her, but is she really going to cash in? She cashed in. I heard a bit oh, so she cashing in? Yeah, I thought she would. I didn't think that was going to happen and because of that, me and Q we tied on the From Our Perspective predictions. But I'm not complaining. Naomi deserved it, her character work she's been putting in since she turned heel 10 out of 10. I'm just shocked because I expected her to cash in on the title with Tiffin Stratton and the Jade Cargill. I really expected her to cash in at SummerSlam, but she did. She cashed in and she means business and it's going to be basically a rematch, triple threat match at SummerSlam, which I think they got a chance to maybe make it in night one. But who knows, we'll see Q. What's your thoughts?

Speaker 2:

It might, who knows, we'll see. Q. What's your?

Speaker 1:

thoughts.

Speaker 2:

It might be personal at the moment, all right, yeah, but I thought about it since the match happened. All right, this might be the greatest match I've ever seen. I'm not even like where Rhea Ripley and EO put on. Eo's guy put on. It might be the greatest match I've ever seen. I know it's the greatest match I've seen in the past five years. Oh yeah, without question, it's definitely a match of the year. People putting a match of the year question mark Like stop it, it's June, I don't care, there's no other match that they're going to put on. That's going to be as good as this match.

Speaker 2:

Io and Rhea put on a master class and I always. I know Io. Like I said, ever since I seen the video of Io versus Penta, I sit and watch that match. I was like Io's the greatest in the world. I've been saying that. That's why I'm such a big fan of Io. Scott, she's the greatest in the world. Rhea been saying that. That's why I'm such a big fan of EO. Scott, she's the greatest in the world. Rhea showed I'm on that level too. Rhea Ripley showed she's on that level as well. I am like you said. I'm not mad that we end up tied because we also got a moment in Naomi cashing in, because it's evolution. It's the first time they had it in seven years. Okay, what's going to take this over the top and what's going to get people talking? Not only this great match, in the match of the year, we're going to have a cashing.

Speaker 1:

We're going to have to do it, people are probably doing this cashing with the Seth Rollins cashing at WrestleMania all those years ago.

Speaker 2:

Yes, the women's money in the are probably doing this cash-in with the Seth Rollins cash-in at WrestleMania, Similar the women's money in the bank. She gonna come in and cash in and everybody's gonna tell because they gonna be like man, it was a great match. Why we get a finish like that? Because you don't want neither one of them to take the pin. No, At least against each other. Eo did end up taking the pin to Naomi.

Speaker 1:

It's kind of a protected loss too, because you didn't expect Naomi to come out here, man.

Speaker 2:

We beat each other senseless. We throw each other in the ring. Naomi, come in and hit real with the briefcase, which I did not notice. When it becomes a triple threat, it automatically becomes no DQ. I did not know that. I ain't gonna lie to you.

Speaker 1:

I didn't realize she fully cashed it because she gave her the briefcase. Then she took it back and said, oh, she's not cashing it. Then she hit it. I'm like what's going on? Then you heard the bell. I was like, oh so she really cashing in.

Speaker 2:

And so she was smart, I'm gonna let y'all beat each other senseless. Y'all were each other out over this whole arena. How long was this referee out? Did they get put some melatonin or something, because they don't win? They done had all these different spots Y'all heard. Is the referee still laid out? Still not All right, come on what she take a nap Like what are we doing? They ain't All right. That being said, they wear each other out. And then for Naomi to come in, get real with the briefcase, give EO Sky the finisher, and then the picture of her with the band-aid on her nose Because you forget like she just got put through hell early that night.

Speaker 2:

That's the thing you get put through hell. You come out like I'm still going to take every business. I lost this match. I lost the battle, but I won the war.

Speaker 1:

It was an excellent war.

Speaker 2:

That was the best match I've seen in my life, the best match I've seen I know for the past five years and I believe in my life Also. I think it's PE Elliott.

Speaker 1:

Right now it is.

Speaker 2:

Because I have. No, I ain't gonna lie man. After SummerSlam I really ain't got no faith in the rest of the PE. Elliott's.

Speaker 1:

No, because I mean you know those overseas crowds usually you know they add maybe about a half to a full star on the show because the crowds be so dope. Yeah, but they going to hate.

Speaker 2:

If Naomi's still the champion, she's going to get out of hate in the world.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they don't know why they get hate overseas.

Speaker 2:

We know why they get hate overseas.

Speaker 1:

I didn't want to say it. I tried to be nice. I tried to be nice.

Speaker 1:

I ain't saying neither, I just said, we know why, we know it's probably PLE of the year so far and it's going to be tough to really take that over outside of SummerSlam and WarGames and obviously John Cena's last show, which that might be a Saturday night's main event, so that might not count, but there's only two shows Just just on general, like some of this limb and survive our series war games that could have the potential just off the strength of that name power Outside of that. Hey, it's going to be tough though. Top that triple H.

Speaker 2:

I know and then, like you said, the storyline is real wanted to. I ain't never beat you. I gotta beat you, and I still didn't beat you. I sent you through hell and I still didn't beat you.

Speaker 1:

And she was frustrated the whole match. You could just see it in her face and you could just see every time she gave it EO was just smiling like girl. You ain't nothing.

Speaker 2:

But at one point EO got frustrated because it's like I just put you through hell too and you still getting up.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And it wasn't like a parade of finishers. Neither. That's the other thing that made that match special, because you know how I feel about finishing it should finish a person. People be kicking out. They have people. They do a Cody Cota and a John Salida AAA and a Back to Sleep, a BTS and people still. People still kick out three, four times. It wasn't a parade of finishers.

Speaker 1:

That's what made the match great, but excellent show. Excellent show. So obviously full slate of WWE or wrestling in general, last weekend. We do got SummerSlam coming up here in a couple weeks, but we got to shift gears just slightly a little bit. We got to talk about the NBA. We had a couple big, somewhat big moves. Now I know you know about one. Another one just came across my phone. I don't know if you know, but I'm trying to do this. But before we talk about that one, bradley Bill. He got bought out by the Phoenix Suns. We knew he wasn't going to be a Sun. They basically had to give him away for a bag of chips if they wanted to trade him, because he had no trade clause. But he ended up going to the LA Clippers. Does that get you hyped by the Clippers? What are you feeling like? Are Like they going to make some noise, or is it just they just going to be the Clippers?

Speaker 2:

Man. So I guess when we talked about who was winning the offseason, I forgot about the Clippers. But then I went once they got Bradley Beal I was like, okay, look, because people seem excited about the Clippers why are they excited about the Clippers?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I used to get excited. I can't get excited about the Clippers no more. I like the Clippers but I like Kawhi. I'm just not going to get excited. Until they can get to the conference finals, I ain't going to get excited about them.

Speaker 2:

Because Kawhi stayed hurt. But then I was thinking about okay, they played good in the playoffs. We thought they was going to win that series at one point. Then I was like, okay, they did get John Collins, so that does give them a little Harden. On the second unit, bradley Beal he fits the dude they just traded to Miami, he fits the role. And then Bradley Beal for the price that they're getting him, compared to the $50 million Because it wasn't like Bradley Beal was horrible last year he just won $50 million.

Speaker 1:

And he just didn't fit that Phoenix Suns system. Yeah, that was the biggest thing.

Speaker 2:

And it was, you know, stuff in the locker room. You go into a different locker room Ty Lue, van Gundy, they in there, they going to get some straightening. So I'm like, okay, I'm excited, like I'm not. I don't want to go like overly excited. I like they're a conference final contender Because they got. Because then you add Brooke Brooke Lopez is coming off the bench. You add John Collins. They gave up some pieces but then they still got their defensive pieces. And damn, now I'm drawing black on the names. I looked at the Clippers roster earlier but I ain't going to look at my phone because I feel like I won't be surprised if another sketch that you got to tell me so. But they still got defensive players on the bench. So I'm excited to see what the Clippers are going to be next season.

Speaker 2:

As far as the playoffs, the regular season, bro, you know Kawhi ain't going to play. Bradley Bill will be getting hurt. James Harden I mean James Harden played damn near every game last year. I think he played all 82 or like 81. James Harden, you know James Harden went back to James Harden of the old James Harden used to do that For a couple years. He was starting to act like them, so I want to see what they're going to do in the playoffs. I'm excited to see what they're going to do in the playoffs. The regular season I'm embarrassed what it is.

Speaker 1:

But why am I going to?

Speaker 2:

play.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm intrigued. We'll see what they do when they get to the playoffs. But the second move, that literally just happened. I got the notification 12 minutes ago. Dame Dollar has a new home. I want you to tell me where do you think Dame Dollar went. I'm going to give you the contract.

Speaker 2:

Three years $42 million.

Speaker 1:

Three years for $42 million Yep.

Speaker 2:

Tell me where you think Dame Dollar went. Okay, let me guess.

Speaker 1:

Boston.

Speaker 2:

Nope.

Speaker 1:

The Lakers.

Speaker 2:

No, lakers Golden.

Speaker 1:

State, not Golden State Minnesota.

Speaker 2:

Nope, okay, wait a minute, wait a minute.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to say this it's not a championship contender. So I don't know what he's doing, but it's not a championship contender.

Speaker 2:

It's not a championship contender Nope, and he went and did 3 for 42.

Speaker 1:

Mmhmm.

Speaker 2:

Dang went and did 3 years for 42 million and it's not a championship for 10 million Portland.

Speaker 1:

Dame dollar went back to Portland. Get the f*** out of here. For three years, 42 million, get the f*** no stop stop.

Speaker 2:

they said it was a possibility. Three years, $42 million. Get the no stop Stop.

Speaker 1:

They said it was a possibility but I didn't think he was going to do it. That just tells me, man, he ain't worried about no jury, he ain't worried about it.

Speaker 2:

Three for $40. Three for $42. That's a little under $14. I mean a little under $14 a year. Three for 40. Three for 42. Two, that's a little under 14. I mean a little under 14 a year. Well, no, that's 14 a year. Yeah, 14 a year. Damn, think he only worth 14 a year over the next couple years. I mean, he's still getting paid, True, but I'm saying, if I'm Dane, that third year because, like, okay, he's going to sit out most of this year, yeah, then you come back next year and you build your.

Speaker 1:

He's going to sit out all this year because Trailblazers ain't making the playoffs.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so then that third, that third year, dame probably could have got another $25, $30 million year contract. You're saying 14 just to stay in Portland. Dame just wanted to be at home. That's what it boiled down to. Dame wanted to be in Portland at home.

Speaker 1:

He just wanted to go back home, that's all. It is Crazy, though when it came across my timeline I couldn't believe it. That's kind of crazy. But shout out, dame. I mean, I know he's a divorced man, but it's got to be something important that he was trying to get back to. That's all I can say.

Speaker 2:

I know, Okay, it's one of them. Like I don't even know what to say to that. Okay, Real quick. Derrick Jones Jr and Chris Dunn was the two dudes on deep. I was thinking of the Clippers. I can look them up on there.

Speaker 1:

I just wanted to make sure.

Speaker 2:

I get their names out, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Dane back to Portland, but thanks again for joining us for another episode of From Our Perspective. We talked a lot about wrestling. We talked a little bit about NBA playoffs. I'm your boy, deion, please. When we talked a little bit about NBA playoffs, I'm your boy, deion, please like, please, subscribe. Leave a comment, give us your thoughts on Dame going back to Portland, because what?

Speaker 1:

And obviously we got some of something in a couple weeks, but before I let Q go ahead and take us home, dallas, jerry Jones, y'all waited again and now TJ Watt just signed For 41 a year. He signed a $120 million deal, getting 41 a year. Tj Watt is now the highest paid non-quarterback. If y'all would have paid Micah last year, you would have got him for about 35, 36. Now you're going to have to drop 42, 43 mil a year off at that man to get him signed. And y'all waited. I'm sick of it. Y'all need to stop waiting.

Speaker 1:

Until the last second, jerry Jones, you literally said from your mouth I'd rather wait and pay more than pay early. That makes no sense. You got to treat being a general manager of an NFL football team with a salary cap like you in the stock market. You got to buy it early. You got to buy it early because it's only getting higher. You got to locate talent. You got to go to them. Hey, I got this money for you. These players ain't going to turn down money, especially when it's good money. But when they get to a certain point, especially towards the end of that contract, he going to hit you up with the side of the head with that brink shot. Then you got to pay that man $42 million. I'm done, captain Hayden, take us home.

Speaker 2:

Can I be Captain Hayden for a minute?

Speaker 1:

Go ahead.

Speaker 2:

In what world do you think Michael Parson has worked more than TJ Watt? He's not getting more than TJ Watt. He ain't getting more than Miles.

Speaker 1:

Garrett, he's getting anywhere between 40 and 42.

Speaker 2:

No, he should be getting somewhere between 35 and 40. He ain't, he should be matter of fact. I don't even think he should be 35 to 40. I think he should be 32 to 36. Micah's like that, but Micah ain't like that. He ain't Micah, he ain't TJ or Miles Garrett, at least from my perspective. Of course, I am a Dallas fan, so maybe that's what that is. I just don't see Michael Parsons, as I don't see Michael Parsons working with TJ White.

Speaker 1:

I just don't. Sometimes it's not about what you're worth, it's just about timing, and that's where you're going to have to time him If you.

Speaker 2:

Dallas, you better not pay that man $42 to $43 million a year. You better $42 to $43 million a year.

Speaker 1:

You better pay him $35 and be like he ain't getting. He's getting at least. If he gets less than $40, I'll be surprised yeah.

Speaker 2:

Okay, I was about to say $35 to $40 because $40 is the overpay, but I wouldn't make him the highest pay.

Speaker 1:

They could have paid him $40, but since TJ Watt just got paid $41, now he probably looking like hey, 41 look kinda nice. I wonder what 42 look like.

Speaker 2:

Dallas gonna be Dallas. Shout out to the Cowboys Dallas is gonna be Dallas. We got a special episode for y'all for next week Summer slow. We got something special for y'all next week, something different, but we catch y'all later. Y'all already know the best show going. Mr Bell, aka say your name up on the fire, might not put you to mob we holla at y'all later.
