Welcome, welcome, welcome back to another episode of From my Perspective. Of course I'm your boy Deion coming back to you with these Perspective Takes and you know we got to review this SummerSlam. The first two-night SummerSlam is officially in the books, but you know I'm joined by the man, the myth, the legend himself Catherine Hayter. How you doing? Q.
Speaker 2:Man, what it do what it is. You're right on the back. It's your boy, mr Bear. Hey man, I'm all right, feeling like you was last week.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I wish I was feeling I'm struggling but, like I said, the first two nights of SummerSlam is in the books. Before we get through the review, before I tell you guys who officially won their predictions, do you feel like the first two nights of SummerSlam?
Speaker 2:was a success. I personally feel like it was a success. I enjoyed both night one and night two.
Speaker 1:Now.
Speaker 2:I've seen a lot of hate online for night one. A lot of hate online for night one. It wasn't as good as Night 2. We know that, but I don't feel from my perspective, I don't feel like it was bad. That's just how good Night 2 was. I don't feel like Night 1 was bad. It just wasn't as good as Night 2.
Speaker 1:I agree, especially Night 2. People were obviously WrestleMania was two nights. People were saying this was way better than WrestleMania. And those might be recency bias. Got to give it a couple weeks before I really make that determination, but as of right now I feel like SummerSlam was slightly better, especially night two, night two of WrestleMania and night two of SummerSlam. We'll get to that in a little bit, especially with the main event. They delivered Completely different from what WrestleMania but you think it was better than WrestleMania. Just, you know, might be a little too early.
Speaker 2:Okay, I definitely feel like night two of SummerSlam was better, the best of the four nights. If you take the two SummerSlams and the two WrestleMania SummerSlam, night two was the best of the four nights. Like you said, I need some time. I got to sit with it. I think I'm leaning toward yes, but I got to sit with it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I agree with you. But who? You know? Who else thought Summer Slam first ever two night Summer Slam was a success. It was actually TKO slash WWE. As you know, there's been reports. We talked about it last week. I asked your opinion on it. Should there be more two nights? Maybe they heard us. Maybe they heard you know the success as well. They talked about making Survivor Series Royal Rumble and possibly Money in the Bank two nights.
Speaker 2:How you feeling. Look, I understand it, sitting with it for a week after we talked about it. I do understand it because you got one from a money perspective. I get it Like WWE, as far as TKO's properties is the one bringing in the money, so gotta strike the iron while it's hot. I get it from the money perspective, but not only from the money perspective. We got so much talent. We need to showcase everybody and we need to get all these storylines. You know, own these PLEs, especially because the workers get more money when they own a PLEs, especially because the workers get more money when they own a PLE. So why not? I understand it from those two points More money for TKO, then more money for the wrestlers as well, as you get more storylines and you get more of an arc for everything.
Speaker 2:That being said, we don't need Falcom. We don't need Falcom. Wrestlemania is cool. That being said, we don't need Falcom. We don't need Falcom. Wrestlemania is cool. Summerslam truth be told, summerslam probably should have been two nights. It should have been probably two nights for about three, four years now, probably right after COVID. They should have been making their money back right after COVID. Summerslam should have been two nights since then Survivor Series, I mean. Okay, I don't think if any of them for me, just for me, if any of them, I was going to say Money in the Bank, but Money in the Bank is kind of right in their world. Right after WrestleMania and the sleeves, you don't want them too close together.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so Survivor Series will be the one, but I just don't feel like that's the one, if that makes sense, because how many matches, how many 505s and four-game matches you going to have?
Speaker 1:Yeah, I agree with you, Survivor Series shouldn't be Now. Last week I was on the assumption I would understand and would like a two-night Royal Rumble. You did convince me. You did change my mind. I was like, nah, that's too close to WrestleMania, Way too close, because you get that, then you get usually Elimination Chamber, no way out. However they want to put it, I agree with you, it's too close. Now I imagine that that's going to be the next one to be two nights. If they're going to make any one of them two nights, it's going to be Royal Rumble. Then they might trickle it down to Survivor Series. I think if they're going to make Royal Rumble two nights, that could be it. But I agree with you, it's too close to WrestleMania to be making it two nights.
Speaker 2:The one on the calendar. It should be Survivor Series. It should be the one, but that's also the one. I feel like Money in the Bank makes more sense for two nights than Survivor Series. But that being said, on the calendar-wise it's the one that's kind of spaced out between SummerSlam and WrestleMania. So I feel like you probably gonna have to do Survivor Series. I guess one night you could do the War Games and then the other night you could do the 5-on-5, but then, hell, what's that? 40 wrestlers in between. If you do two men, a men 5-on-5 and a men war game, and then a women's same thing, that's 40 wrestlers, Y'all got a lot of wrestlers.
Speaker 2:Y'all ain't got that many wrestlers.
Speaker 1:God, that's too much. It's too much. But we'll see what TKO do they in the red and they try to get WWE to get them out the but hey, teachers on TKL would make y'all money. I'm going to watch it most of it. I'm probably not going to be watching all of it. If it's that much I was going to say that's the thing.
Speaker 2:Survivor Series is also. You're going up against college football Thanksgiving In NFL. I don't know, I don't think you want to do that.
Speaker 1:I don't know. I don't think you want to do that. I don't know. You said it a couple shows ago. They need to make their money. In the summertime Y'all got to coast a little bit during the wintertime. Monday Night Raw has been doing it for years. When Monday Night Football come around, they start coasting a little bit because they know they can't do nothing with Monday Night Football. As soon as Monday night football is over about January, I always say I stay primetime because of WrestleMania. They start cranking it up, start bringing in the real dough, bringing in the superstars, but when Monday night football is around, they start coasting. They probably need to learn to coast a little bit. Ain't nothing wrong with?
Speaker 2:it sometimes. I was going to say I guess they have to be, I guess money in the bank and you move, baby move. I was going to say move of Survivor, not Survivor SummerSlam to the end of August.
Speaker 1:Maybe I had to be odd, though, because I'm used to it being late July, late August, I know.
Speaker 2:It's the last like I called it. It's the end of. It's like your last holiday trip before people go to school, but it would be too close so I don't know. They'll figure it out. We'll critique you when they do?
Speaker 1:We'll see, but let's go ahead and get into the show. Got to give a shout-out. Congratulations to Q. He beat me not only in night one but night two by a slim one-point victory in both nights, which is kind of ridiculous. Like, come on, now I need to get right with God or something, because it's a struggle, I think, outside of our tie he's been putting belt to ass on me, so congratulations. You want to take a victory walk.
Speaker 2:Nah, because when you texted me and said I had it, I was like, are you sure? Like most of the time I feel confident going into it, and then after it I feel a little cocky. This time I just kind of was like I don't know if bro heard me right on some of these I might have slid, someone might have walked out. This was a lot of Jack of Spades, Tennis Spades, walking. That's what this was. I don't know. Yeah, but let's go, man, he's walking, that's what this was.
Speaker 1:I had to, you know, yeah, but let's go ahead and get into it. The first night one, it kicked off with both Roman and J versus Braun and Braun. Well, we assumed it was a great match. Bronson Reed came out with Roman Reigns' sneakers. At that point you got to see me. If I'm Roman, like before you even get in the ring. You got to see me. What? You going to come out with my shoes on your neck? No, you got to see me. It was an excellent match. Did it what it needed to do, get the crowd going? Obviously, jey Uso did the little encore thing Roman and Jey. They end up getting a victory. Jay ends up getting a pin on Bronson Reed. So that's how it goes. There Looks like Roman and he has a movie coming up. He probably is going to be gone here in a little bit, so we'll see where it goes from here. What was your thoughts on the pretty good tag match?
Speaker 2:to start, us off for night one. I feel like this probably should have been the opener for night one. I feel like this probably should have been the opener for night two and we'll get to why I say that later on but I feel like it should have been the opener for night two. The match was good. I did like the little detail of Bronson taking the shoes and then coming out with the shoes. It's the little things that you know. We know what wrestling is, but it's the little things that make the storylines. You've got to build the storyline and that's a small detail that makes a powerful impact on the storytelling. I want to see Roman versus Bryan one-on-one. I hope that's what this leads to, but we don't know. But as far as the match, the match was a good match. The outcome was predictable. I wish it had went the other way to help build that faction. But you know we're good with it.
Speaker 1:We can get to that a little bit more Next up, I would say I got this one wrong, you got it right. Judgment Day versus Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Even with the mishap that happened in the match, charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss came away with the victory. I thought the Judgment Day was going to hold on to the titles, but the team that don't consider themselves friends are now tag team champions. So a shout out to Flair and Alexa Bliss Pretty good match. Charlotte's excellent in the ring. Alexa Bliss is excellent in the ring. Judgment Day Raquel Rodriguez looks like she has got her stride in the ring. Obviously, we knew what she could do, especially since her match with Rhea Ripley. She's looks like she took it up to the next level. And Roxanne Perez they call her the prodigy for a reason Trained by Booker T. So good match. A little bit surprising outcome by me, but Fleur and Alexa not best friends are now tag team champions.
Speaker 2:I hope that they continue to build on Rykel's successor. Lately, even if it's with Roxanne in the tag team division and they beat a couple tag teams and they get a rematch, even if they lose again, I hope they continue to build on her success Because Raquel, it was always there. I'm so happy that she was able to pull it together. Speaking of being happy for her wrestling Out to me when I seen him win, it was to me. I just went straight to Charlotte for her. She had so much hate. She went through the mental side of it when people was hating on her. It looks like well, she said it. This is the happiest she's ever been in wrestling. You can see it. She's let her hurt down and she's taking a lot of the pressure off. It's like when she wrote down that memoir, or you know what I'm saying Played a short reel.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's like so much personal went off of her and she's now free and it's.
Speaker 1:She can be herself in the ring and I'm happy for that it looks like we're getting more Ashley than Charlotte yes, ashley being her real name which hey Wednesday, when a character starts becoming herself in the ring, that's when they get their best work and we're getting our best work. But I'm interested in seeing where the Charlotte Alexa Bliss story goes. Charlotte Ashley eventually she's going back to that world title. She has the Flair name. Let's see if she can get some goodwill from the fans and become that babyface, because she has never been good as a babyface. So we'll see how this works out for her Next up. We got pretty much two duds of a match. Let's go ahead and get these duds of the match over with. We're going to start out with Tiffany Stratton versus Jay Cargill.
Speaker 1:You said it this babyface versus babyface stuff really doesn't work. Now I will contradict myself. I will be contradicting myself for night two, because it did work, but it was in a little bit of a different match setting and you know it had a little more stakes to it. But Tiffany Stratton and Jay Kirk, it just didn't hit for me. I mean, you expect more from these talented individuals. Obviously, Jay, she's still somewhat green. Tiffany, she's only got what two and a half three years under her belt. I can understand, maybe they just ain't there yet, but that match didn't hit for me, man, and it just ended. Tiffany ends up getting the victory. I'm kind of done with the whole babyface. Tiffany, I would like to see Jay go in. I would like to see Tiffany go in. I said that last week, but it's much different for me.
Speaker 2:But see, you said it, though, and that's why it didn't work, was because, like we're going to get to, those two baby faces are two people that we expect to be baby faces. That's what they do. They capable of doing that? These two heels trying to play baby face, kind of like with Charlotte? Charlotte don't really be a babyface, she be a heel. Jcard Gill is her best work when she's that cocky, arrogant I'm her and Tiffany Stratton's the same way. When we think of Tiffany Stratton, she got a little ego to her as well, even when she was a sad kick to Nia Jax Maybe not sad, kick ain't the best word, but you get what I'm saying.
Speaker 1:Her and.
Speaker 2:Nia Jax was on the same side. She still had an arrogance about her, even though she, you know, not weaseled when she cashed in him. But you know she didn't. She did a typical cash in which everybody do. So it's two heels playing babyface. Now they needed to be heels, one of them needed to turn or both of them needed to turn in the match. I think it would have been better if this was like a street fight or something like that, to give like something to it, but it wasn't better.
Speaker 1:Straight up match did not work. It didn't work at all. We'll see where they go from here. Tiffany does not have a challenger. I feel like at this point Jade is waiting to see if Bianca can get healthy so she can get back into something, because right now after this she really ain't got much to do but head back to the back of the line for the world title. Maybe she moves up to Julia. She might need to hit up Julia for that United States title. Maybe we can get that on the PLE. Just saying it would be nice.
Speaker 1:The next quote-unquote from my perspective dud of the match with Sami Zayn versus Karrion Kross. They tried to hit a story beat. That just didn't work for me, with the whole trying to get Sami Zayn to do something. Heel, sami Zayn is one of them people that I don't ever expect to be, even though he did great work around COVID time with the whole thing. He was doing the Conspiracy Stories thing when he fought Johnny Knoxville at WrestleMania. That was cool, but for the most part he's a babyface. Didn't work. Obviously, karrion Kross is not the best wrestler but he does have good character work, but it just seemed odd that him losing. We both picked Sami Zayn, but Karrion Kross probably should have won. That makes you think, though Is his contract not being renewed? Because his contract is up, I believe, at the end of August, from what the report so. Is his contract not being renewed? Is that how they're feeling about Karrion?
Speaker 2:Karrion's the same, though K. Is that how they feeling about Curran? Here's the thing, though Curran got over with the fans, it's just I don't, and he's a Triple H guy. I just don't know where's the dots being not connected? Maybe it's something with the storyline. Like you said, this storyline kind of ain't. It wasn't going nowhere when it started. It wasn't going nowhere. When it started it wasn't going nowhere. So it didn't.
Speaker 2:Like you said, currencross should have won this match, but you build a Sami Zayn arc for next year, royal Rumble and all of that. So he can't afford to be losing to Currencross, even though that also would have helped his he overcome the lovable loser of the Chicago Cubs. That's what they should have turned Sami Zayn to be. But I don't know I think the contract situation, I think, plays a part into it why we give you a victory on the PLE if we ain't sure we gonna bring you back or we sure you ain't gonna accept the offer that we give you. But again, y'all wanna do two night PLEs, y'all gonna meet people around Just saying but yeah, you make a great point.
Speaker 2:Hold on real quick. Out of the two matches, what's your lowest point?
Speaker 1:My lowest Talking about. I enjoyed Sami Zayn carrying Kross last. I enjoyed that last. It was just a story one there I was interested in. I mean, there was a world title in mind in Tiffany vs Jade that gets you up a little bit. This one, what was on the line is who's going to say who is right, all right, so it wasn't hidden. It wasn't hidden, but we'll see what's next for Sami Zayn and Karrion Kross. I hope they re-sign him, even if they re-sign him just to do five-minute backstage setting. That's what got him over the first time. That's why his shirts are selling now. You need to re-sign him just for the merch money. I'm sure he's making a shit ton of merch money.
Speaker 2:Shoot man, sign them and send them to TNA for a couple bucks. That's my thing now. If y'all can't find nothing to do with people, send them to TNA. Yeah, they got TNA, nxt, lfg, eva, they got all these shows that they can see, they got the AAA because AAA got a PLA company August 16th, which, I ain't gonna lie, I'm gonna watch it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's on YouTube too, for the free.
Speaker 2:Yeah for the free. I'm going to watch it.
Speaker 1:So now let's go ahead and go to the main event CM Pump versus Gunther. This was a good match. My only gripe about it is Gunther. Anytime he loses. It's the same way. He dominates. The guy gets cocky, he gets hit with something, starts to run away a little bit and loses. It's a good match. But I feel like Gunter is losing the same way. He's getting a little bit old. I know you're a dominant guy. Can you lose a different way? I don't know.
Speaker 1:But outside of my little gripe with that, it was a good match. It really didn't pick up to me because most of the time it was just Gunter beating up CM Punk. It didn't pick up to me until Gunter started getting blood on his face or started bleeding. That's when it picked up and CM Punk finally pulled it out. I will say good luck to Gunther because I believe obviously it wasn't a real blood. I believe he bladed or something. But apparently his nose wasn't legitimately hurt going into this match, so he's got to get that fixed up. So prayers to him getting that fixed up. But outside of that, like I said, it was a good match. But I see this funny one with Gunther dominating the match, gets too confident and loses.
Speaker 2:When Gunther was under the table, I was like, oh, what are we about to do here? Because he was under the table, I'm like, what are we about to do here? Then he come out with blood. I said, oh, I said because normally WWE don't really break that out too often no, like, can I be honest, I didn't feel like it was needed. The blood Because, like you said, gunther yeah, the blood Because Gunther was dominating that whole match. Cm Punk got a couple of licks in and now all of a sudden, the brother's bloodied up. It would have made more sense for CM Punk to be the one bloodied up.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I just feel like it would have made what happened after was a little bit more impactful too.
Speaker 2:Exactly, it would make more sense for CM Punk to be the one bloodied up. But let's kind of get to what happened after, because I got more out of your sketch.
Speaker 1:All right, so let's go ahead and get to it. I was seeing Punk 1. He's out there celebrating his first world title in WWE since Lord knows how long, you know almost in tears. Then you hear burn it down and before we get to a little bit more, there was obviously we talked about it. Me and you both was on the side of. This is real WWE and Seth Rollins.
Speaker 1:They did an excellent job initially of making the scene real, especially with the LA Night match. Then there was word. There was initial word as soon as it happened, from some observers saying nah, they was planning that. A lot of people were just like there's no way they're going to plan something like that because it looked that legitimately in that match. As the weeks go on, you start to hear a little bit more whispers like I don't know if that's real. Maybe it is something real, but it's probably not something that's going to be long-term, especially with Paul Hammond keeps saying oh, he's got until June and the fact that they didn't initially want to put the money to make on somebody else. They were just like we're just going to keep it on self. So I was worried that this might happen. So it kind of got out a little bit, that Seth Rollins could potentially cash in A little bit yeah, more than a little bit Like that. It's crazy because obviously we believed it. But when we did our prediction last week we both said, oh, he's catching in either this night or night two. We felt it Even though we believed it initially, and we don't even be deep diving into these reports. We just be just doing our regular scroll through social media and we ran into it. So you know somebody's looking for it. They definitely do.
Speaker 1:But Sir Farris comes out with Paul Heyman on the crutches, basically yelling at CM Punk hey, once I get healthy I'm coming for it. He turns around and basically pulls off his best Kevin Nash impersonation, throws the crutches down, takes off the knee brace, grabs the ring face, goes down there and beat up CM Punk. Throws the crutches down, takes off the knee brace, grabs the rig pace, goes down there and beat up CM Punk and he becomes the new World Heavyweight Champion. And my initial thoughts afterwards is oh, this is going to be a WrestleMania main event. Don't know if it's going to be night one or night two, but CM Punk, seth Rollins, they're going to try to line that up to be a WrestleMania main event. But pretty good on WWE trying to do something different. Probably didn't work as well as they wanted to, but it worked probably well enough, especially initially. But I know you got a lot of thoughts. I know originally you wanted to be for the world, for the WWE title like you said he got out a little bit.
Speaker 2:He got out a lot. He got out and he was fine. They's doing all the videos of him on crutches. Paul Rosenberg was like. I saw him at the restaurant yesterday. He was on crutches.
Speaker 2:Alright, bro, look, we all saw it coming. I think it was the dumbest thing they could do. I'm just going to call this face. I'm going to be as blunt as I honestly can. We all saw it coming. It was known.
Speaker 2:So don't do what we know is coming. Do something different. Either don't have him do a thing or have him come out and lose it. If you wanted to be versus him and CM Punk, have him come out and lose it. If you wanted to be him and CM Punk, have him come out and lose it. Instead of have CM Punk be the one going crazy because of the Seth Rollins thorn in his side, make it the other way around. Seth Rollins thought he was going to get the championship. Cm Punk was able to, after that crazy match with Gunther, hold on to his championship. Hell, have Gunther do something like bump into him or something. Do this championship Hell. Have Gunther do something like bump into him or something. Do something that's unpredictable. This was predictable when he came out. When that music came on, I said, oh yeah, he's great cashing.
Speaker 1:So it didn't get you because he's great cashing. Then he came out with the crutches and the braces, like what is he doing? And then he was talking. I was like, nah, he great pulling Kevin Nash.
Speaker 2:Yeah, as soon as I heard the music. Oh yeah, seth Rollins is about to cash in. Okay, cool, but why? Let me not recite but why? I understand the why. But sometimes in wrestling, sometimes the storyline is right there, so just go with the storyline. But you ain't always got to do that. Sometimes throw a cover ball in there for a reason, have everybody second guessing. You can Triple H know. Like we know, ali's dirt sheet said Seth Rollins was coming back. It was a work. All right, cool, it is a work. But I'm going to work, y'all. He going to come out here and lose, yeah, y, but I'm going to work y'all. He's going to come out here and lose. Yeah, y'all. Thought he was going to win. Yeah, yeah, it was a work. He was hurt, but he didn't win it. Do something else. I understand why. I just think it was a bad decision because we knew it was coming.
Speaker 1:So, going back on when Seth got hurt, do you think that was done Not correctly? But do you think that was done not correctly? But do you think that was a good decision in doing it like that? Because there's no better way to fake us out with something like that than the way they did, because they did it absolutely perfectly.
Speaker 2:What they attempted to do, I think, was a good idea. I just don't think, once everybody figured it out, that's what you were trying to do. Going along with that and still doing it is kind of like all right, well, we already knew this was coming. The thing about wrestling is you want it to be unpredictable because, let's be real, it's scripted. If I can write the script myself or I know your script is coming, I don't want that. I want the unpredictable.
Speaker 1:So another thing we want in wrestling is logic. Does it make sense? And probably my biggest issue with it is why? Because they're playing it off, as Seth Rollins did this on purpose. I don't know the why. Is the good reason? Because, like, why would you fake an injury? Purposely lose to LA Knight, purposely go away from TV, like people are saying? Maybe he wanted CM Punk to get his guard down? Cm Punk didn't have a title match planned out when he faked his injury at the time. Cm Punk didn't get the title match planned out when he faked his injury at the time. Cm Punk didn't get the title match until the following Monday. So I don't know why he. That's probably the only thing I don't like is, logically, the reasoning. I don't think there's a reason they can put together for it to make sense. Like, did you just want three weeks off, three weeks vacation? Like, did you say that?
Speaker 2:They, you know they had a plan CM Punk was going to do this, seth was going to do this. Cm Punk was going to do that. When we get here, we're going to do that. Okay, cool, we all saw that coming. Hell after CM Punk won. You could have seen that it was coming. Yeah, punk won. You could have seen that it was coming.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't think it's changed the dynamic. It changed the storyline, because if he did it versus Cody you can play on. You know how they was together at WrestleMania the previous year, yep. So hell, john, I seen it go on Babyface again. That could have been a rub, you feel me. But to do it versus seeing Punk is kind of like all right man.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and they got this fair shoot. Initially I was a little sick of it. Now I'm a little bit interested, but I just know their plan is to get that to WrestleMania. What they do between now and WrestleMania I don't know, because they got a long time to go. Something I do feel like needs to happen from my perspective LA Knight need to come out on Monday Night Raw today. I want that, bro. I got to win over you. I need that above you.
Speaker 2:What is? Don't even get me started. Why LA Knight on some slam at all At?
Speaker 1:all. He needs to be on the next PLA. Like I said, he needs to come out tonight. Hey, big dog, I need that. I got a victory over you and I need that. I'm still not. He said it in an interview. He still got beef with him. He needs that.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't know it don't make sense to me.
Speaker 1:Logically the reasoning. That's what I'm against. But let's go ahead and move over tonight to the better of the two nights. Let's start out with the women's world heavyweight title match, the triple-drag Naomi, io Sky and Rhea Ripley. They put on a banger. The story between Rhea and Io is continued. Rhea cannot beat Io, but Naomi. I was a little upset after it happened because Naomi, she basically snuck a victory, got her victory and snuck out of there. I was a little like you probably could have gave her a little bit more of a dominant victory. She just got the title but she won nonetheless. So I can't be too upset, but the match was good. They kicked off night two with a bang, but you had thoughts about the other tag team match maybe being the night two starter.
Speaker 2:I feel like Roman Reigns and Jake could have been night two. The reason I'm saying that is because I feel like it should have been the main event of night one. Do you think so?
Speaker 1:even Nah.
Speaker 2:I get why it's not In a vacuum.
Speaker 1:I see what you mean, but the two endings.
Speaker 2:That's why I said I see why it's not because of the fact that, because of the cash-in situation. So I understand why you can't do that, but man, it's the cash-in selection. This match was better than seeing Punk and Gunther to say why you can't do that. But man, it's the cash-in section selection. This match was better than CM Punk and Gunther. Out of the four you know, opener and closers, this was the second best. So I feel like it should have been the main event. I feel like this was better than Roman and Jey, the tag team, and then I feel like this was better than CM Punk andumpa. I get you got to add the cash in to the situation, I get it. But as far as actual match quality, I feel like this was better. But that's why I said it should have been the main event. But I understand why it can't be. I understand, I just like that.
Speaker 1:So, before we slide, roman, jay Bron and Sam.
Speaker 2:Punk and.
Speaker 1:Gunther. Which one was? You Say it again, the Roman Jay versus Bron and Bronson and Sam Punk and Gunther? Which one did you like the most?
Speaker 2:Truthfully right, roman and Jay yeah, I agree.
Speaker 1:I agree with you 100% and, like I said a couple minutes ago, it's just Gunther loses the same way every time he lost. He lost the same way to Sami Zayn. He lost the same way to Jay. He has not lost much, but when he loses it's the same exact way. I like Gunther. Probably my favorite thing about Gunther is he's going to beat you with a lost much, but when he loses it's the same exact way. I like Gunther. Probably my favorite thing about Gunther is he's going to beat you with a multi. He's won with a chop. He's won with a problem. He's won with a choke. He's won different ways and I like having unpredictable finishes, but I just get tired of him losing the same exact way. At some point you got to realize. You got to stop being cocky and just stop playing with your food.
Speaker 2:Yeah, as much as you to rank general you would figure. You think at some point the storyline would have him figure out. I can't be cocky. I got to go take care of business. Yeah, I feel it.
Speaker 1:So Naomi got the victory. How did you feel about that?
Speaker 2:I think, like you said, she can't lose, she just got it. So it made all the sense in the world for Naomi to win the dope moment with her father coming out playing.
Speaker 1:I didn't know her father did all of that, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2:Dude's, legendary in the music game. I didn't know. That respects the Naomi's pops, but yeah, naomi, she deserved to win. I don't know if she's going to make it out of class in person.
Speaker 1:You don't think so, because listen next up Naomi she faces Stephanie Vakir. I think she does, because it's going to be Stephanie's first time. You can't give it to her first time, right.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't think Naomi, making it out of Clash of Clans, is champion dog. Look, you're going to put me I don't know what the match for her would be You're going to put that as my vote. I don't think Naomi's making it out of Clash of Clans, dog.
Speaker 1:Alright, we'll get there in a couple weeks. I may disagree with you, but yeah, it's going to be tough. I don't know. I don't know. Next up on the list is the car crash that. It was the tag team match between Adrani and Ray Phoenix, the Street Profits Axiom, and Nathan Frazier Phoenix, the Street Profits Axiom and Nathan Frazier, the Wyatt Six, diy and the Motor City Machine Guns. I said it was going to be a car crash. It was exactly a car crash. I hope Candice LeRae is okay Because that was probably one of the nastiest bumps I've ever seen. So I hope she's okay.
Speaker 1:One of the biggest highlights to me was when Ciampa was hanging on the title, looking like they could redo the Jeff Hardy and Edge spot. Shout out to the Hardy boys and the Dulles. They was ringside for this, as they should be, because they basically invented this match. But Ciampa basically reversed. He said he wasn't going to end up like Jeff Hardy. That was new the core strength, the shoulder strength, just the body strength. To do that. You got to give Ciampa some props for that. Obviously we had some interference. B-fab came out. Candice LeRae again, I hope she's okay, but she came out. Nikki Cross she came out Bo Dallas and Eric Rowan came out, but the Y6, in the midst of the car crash, ended up with the victory. I don't know, I try to be different, but they did just win the title, so I understand. But it was a car crash and I hope all the performers got hazard pay for what they went through, especially Kendall Slaughter. She needed extra money.
Speaker 2:So I don't know if you remember going into it. This is probably the match. I kind of was like I don't know.
Speaker 1:There was too many competitors.
Speaker 2:We'll see there's a lot going on in the ring. Can I be honest? Plus, it was the 25th anniversary from the first TLC. It ain't the match of the night, but this show is close to the top three.
Speaker 1:It's top three or four.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's top three or four, no worse than four. Right, it was surprising to me to have good this match was. I'm not even going to lie, I ain't going to sit here and fight the funk. I thought this match wasn't going to be that good. It turned out it was very good. I also like I ain't even going to say like I love the fact that they included Candice LeRae B-Fab and Nikki Cross. I thought that was creative thinking, like, okay, we got all these women that's attached to these tag teams. Okay, we're going to put them in as well. The Wyatt Six. Okay, that's all. I'm giving a look. Now we're going into question marks. Do you feel as if the YSX that run is already over? As with the fans? Because it don't feel.
Speaker 1:I've had. I had this initial concern when they first debuted and we talked about it I don't know if you guys remember it was with what Bray Wyatt was doing, his initial entrance back to the fans. Whatever he did, when he went to the theme, when he was the original Bray Wyatt, when he went to different stuff, when he came back for the last time before his unfortunate passing, his initial return felt magical. But pretty much every time about two, three months afterwards it started to die down quickly and because what Bray Rock's creativity and what they're trying to replicate with the Y6, I don't feel necessarily works in the wrestling world as much as they probably wanted to, because at the end of the day somebody said it at the end of the day they got to run ropes.
Speaker 1:Their characters is not necessarily running ropes, should be running ropes. They should be like monsters, scaring kids and stuff. So a shout out. They did get like some type of attraction I don't want to say like Disney World, some type of attraction. They said that they're getting stuff that they should do. They are people that you should be scared of. You don't want your kids around. That make kids pee their pants and they was taken off TV because somebody got hurt. They've been dead in the water for a little bit. Maybe they figure it out, but I ain't got nothing for the White Sox.
Speaker 1:And I knew this was going to happen and I'm mad it did.
Speaker 2:You're right. Both Dallas got hurt. One of both Dallas got hurt. They took them off TV and then they brought them back and it feels like they gave them. It feels as if they gave them these tag team champions as a last ditch effort to get it over, and I don't feel like it's getting over. I feel like it would have. Bo Dallas should probably be in the contention for the United States championship to make him feel more credible as well. I think that's part of the thing is, you got to make your leader feel credible as well. You can't just have you know the underlings as tag team champions. So to me, I feel like I think the only way to save is to make Bo Dallas more credible. I don't know how you do that, but I think that's the only way. I think that's the only way to do it.
Speaker 1:I like your thinking and it was crazy when Bo Dallas they initially the YCC real estate came out. I specifically remember the moment where Adam Pearce opened his door to his office and Bo Dallas is just sitting there and the gas of the crowd and the reaction is like, oh, they got something. He ain't got that order no more. That order's gone, he's just a guy in a mask now they need to go on a tour of them just beating people up.
Speaker 1:And that's what they was doing when they initially started. That's what got them over. Now they're just another group on the wrestling roster just fighting for titles. They should have been above titles. They should have just been going around messing with people that probably got old. But they decided, like you said last ditch, let's put the titles on and see what happens. Hopefully they figure it out. I will say the Smackdown tag division. It's on fire. Raw need to take notes. I don't know what they're doing over there.
Speaker 2:Man, they don't know what they're doing over there.
Speaker 1:They don't know. They need to figure that out. So next up let's talk about Becky Lynch versus Lara Vakuria Street fight or no DQ. It was a no DQ qualification, it was a no D qualification and they did it all. Shout out to Becky. She has a new song. Personally I'm not a fan of it. I liked her original song. I wasn't a big Becky fan but I was a big fan of her song. This new song. I understand she wanted to change it to match her heel persona. It ain't for me, but hey, shout out. Shout out to Becky. That's what she wanted. But Becky ended up getting the victory after Bayley came in and basically cost Lara the victory. Now Lara can't challenge for the Intercontinental title as long as Becky has the title. But outside of that very much. I know there was a little funkiness with the zip ties. They had some issues with that. I like them trying new, different things. Maybe next time, if they do it with another match, they know how to work. It Kind of a little funky this time around, but it was cool.
Speaker 2:I like that. Baby didn't actually become a heel. It's going to slowly develop into. She helped being a heel. But it also is predictable. Like, hey, I cost you the match because I hit you. But you know, that's cool, man, we can slow play, Like I said, sometimes storylines you just got to let it play out traditionally. Sometimes I heard Becky Lynch is going to be facing Nikki Bella now. I think that's going to be dope and I also like the fact. So you get Laura's storyline with Bayley, so her and Bayley is in the storyline, and then you got Nikki Bella who came back after the Morgan injury. It's kind of like you know what am I supposed to do? I'm back now. Okay, cool, we gonna put you in a few with Becky Lynch.
Speaker 2:So two big Hall of Famer in the biggest probably one of the biggest women wrestlers in the industry right now are fighting over your mid court title. I think that is a great look. It gives the mid court title some umph. It's gonna put the mid court title open. So I think that's gonna a great look. It gives the Amir Kord title some oomph. It's going to put the Amir Kord title open. I think that's going to be dope. The match was good. The match was good. Sorry, I went to the store talking about storyline and stuff.
Speaker 2:I ain't even talking about the match, my fault. I ain't even saying nothing about the match. I just started talking about storyline. The match was good.
Speaker 1:My fault. Hey, you excited about the future.
Speaker 2:No, bro, my bad, I'll start talking about the storyline. It's my fault, my bad, my bad. Yeah, I got that. The match is good right. I didn't even go, oh gee, Because I was about to start talking about storylines again. I'm like, let me just shut up. Let me just shut up. The match is good.
Speaker 1:I mean, they did a lot of different things. Lyra took a beating in this match, so hey, shout out to Lyra. I hope you got some hazard pay too. Just saying because that one spot where Becky put her on the chair and put the chair like by the announce table, that looked nasty and I knew it hurt. I knew that hurt. Next up, I expected a lot more from this match than what we got, but we got Solo Sokola versus Jacob Fatu. We set in the predictions the MFC's name is coming out, which means Jimmy Uso was going to come out. We knew that.
Speaker 1:I want to ask you a question on how you feel when they do these steel cage matches. Sometimes you can escape through the door to win. Sometimes you got to climb over the cage to win. Sometimes you got to get a pin to win. Do you like them like that or do you want them to like they really don't do the door escape very well, it's usually the same thing Person falls out. See them. Seth Rollins got pulled out the last time they did. Roman Reigns pulled him out. The only one that I can think of that was actually somewhat decent was when Kofi was the champion. He was facing Dolph Ziggler and he did the. It was kind of like a race to the cage door and Kofi Kingston just jumped over Dolph, over him out of the cage. Thought that was pretty dope. But outside of that the walking out of the cage thing is not a good trope.
Speaker 2:I think the steel cage match you should. A pin should not be allowed. You have to escape the cage and I I would prefer to see them, you know, climb over, but you know, depending on who the wrestler is you know they might not be able if they're a bigger guy you know Otis is not climbing over the steel cage.
Speaker 2:You get what I'm saying. I love the all of the Otis I'm not a smart guy if I said me but Otis ain't climbing over the steel cage, so I'm not mad at the door spot, I just don't want it to be a prolonged. You know, like the door keep opening and closing, opening and closing, opening and closing. We don't need the door to open and close six times in a match, Once or twice, and then the person goes out.
Speaker 1:You know what I?
Speaker 2:mean we don't need it five or six times. I don't think a pin should be allowed, because a hell in a cell you do a pin. So what makes the steel cage different? The steel cage should be only your two feet. Gotta touch the ground, I think. For me, for my perspective, I think that should be the rules of Steel Cage Hell and sell. You don't need that. Why? Because it's hell and sell. We're going to go do whatever we can in this structure and whoever gets the pin.
Speaker 1:I like it, thank you. So what's the call? Dear retain with the help of the MFT, but not with a little FU by Jacob. I too doing a moonsault off the top of the cage after the match. So I think WWE needs to try to get it right with Jacob. I think they're losing it a little bit. They need to figure it out. It's really he just I understand that's family, but he kind of need to get out of this solo feud man Like, rinse these two guys, these two people, off to something different Solo feud with somebody else Jacob. Let's move him up to the WWE title or something, because I think he's being held down at this point. Specifically Jacob.
Speaker 2:I completely agree with you, jacob. That needed to be the end of Jacob and Solo. That needs to be the end of it because, like you said, the momentum that Jacob had is fading, and it's fading quickly. But it reminds me of what they did with Solo. They kept Solo in this Bloodline storyline for so long that now you don't look at Solo the same way you looked at Solo. But it reminds me of what they did with Solo. They kept Solo in this Bloodline storyline for so long and now you don't look at Solo the same way you looked at Solo when he was, you know, right there next to the tribal chief. Nope, yeah, he got a title, but you look at him as a mid-core superstar. He ain't never going to be the dog as of where. When he was with Roman, you could see the potential of him being that you know Superstar, he can be that guy.
Speaker 2:Yeah, the Brickhouse Assassin. You know what I mean. You know Jacob's losing that. Can I be honest, man? This is probably the most disappointing match. I ain't saying it was the worst match, but because I had higher expectations, it is the most disappointing match. But then I was trying to think about it. Why was I so disappointed? If you really thought about it, you probably could have seen this coming, but you had more hope for it. I thought this match was. I didn't think it was just going to be a five-star fight. I never thought that, but it felt. It felt kind of like a typical solo match. They should have let Solo and Jacob actually wrestle and put on a show. But it felt like a typical Solo. Like I'm going to use my cheating tactics to get this match over quick. No, like let them two go out there and wrestle. Some of them was that dude and again, bro, he pinned John Cena and they ain't gave that man nothing since.
Speaker 1:He should have lost it.
Speaker 2:I say it all the time. I know it's a broken record, but, deion bro, he pinned John Cena and he ain't got nothing to show.
Speaker 1:He just pinned him, he destroyed him, he did like 20 spikes.
Speaker 2:You did all of that to John Cena and now you don't. All right, it just don't make sense to me, dog. It just don't, and I fear Jacob is going to be the same way. Oh God, I know my storylines. I got a little too excited in the Becky Lynch situation, but at least Becky Lynch, nikki Bella, laura Bailey they got directions when the hell is Solo and Jacob going now?
Speaker 1:and I just know they're going to keep this year going. When they need to, they need to branch off desperately. Just branch off, find y'all. But they need to send Jacob to Raw and do that send Jacob to Raw yeah, it's time for the draft.
Speaker 2:They need to. They need to start it tonight's time for the draft. They need to start it tonight. I ain't heard nothing, but they need to start it tonight or the next Monday. It's NFL preseason, it's draft time. You need to go on with that. Last look for Raw before it's over for y'all.
Speaker 1:Monday Night Football comes on, yeah, but hopefully they figure it out with Jacob because, like I said, momentum is fading fast. I know, I saw it, you see it. If we see it, I'm sure a lot of the WWE Universe sees it as well. So we can't be the only ones. Next up we got AJ Styles versus Dominic Mysterio for the intercontinental title and I completely forgot Well, I didn't completely, I just didn't think about it.
Speaker 1:But this was the anniversary of the custody battle between Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. That's why AJ Styles came out in the low rider with his son, had AJ Styles in expired gear. Aj Styles was just that dude. Excellent match the way it ended. Pretty much Dominic Mysterio. He sensed that a calf crusher AJ Styles' diminished finish was coming. He undid his boot. While he was in the calf crusher, his boot came off. Dom got him with it and pinned him for the victory. Dom, he still portraying him as like that slimy heel. He's getting some love, though that babyface turn has got to be nearing soon. But they also said this may be AJ Styles' last SummerSlam. So that means he's probably coming down to the end of his career, which will make me very sad. But excellent match. Had a lot of, you know, tributes to Eddie Guerrero and just that custody battle as a whole. They talked about it. So, hey, you put AJ in the ring with a broomstick. I'd be entertained.
Speaker 2:Cool. First the match was good. I was like can we just be honest, Bro, I love the steel chair, Don't be hitting on the girl. But then he threw it to AJ. Then AJ put it around his head, Both of them laying. The referee turned around like what's going on? I love that. I ain't going to snitch, Like I said, small details, Because you know that's what Eddie Guerrero would do is small details. He came out, AJ Styles came out in the low rep. You know, it's the small details. I think the match wasn't the most like you know, technical match. No, but it was a good match. I want AJ Styles to get another championship run before he's done. I know he ain't going to go back to TNA. He already did his TNA. He already won there a couple weeks ago. Way bad at everybody. I want him to get another world title run in WWE. Do he need it? No, Everybody know where AJ.
Speaker 1:Styles is.
Speaker 2:And multiple promotions yeah we know what he is, but I want him to have that. I want him to have that as well as WWE as well as, like he had a team, as he had in New Japan. I want him to have it in WWE as well. So I want AJ to get another run, because I know he said he wasn't wrestling until he's 50. No, he want AJ to get another run because I know he said he wasn't wrestling until he's 50.
Speaker 1:No, he's like 47, 48. He's in his late 40s.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I think he's 48. So that's why I thought he done it's his last up slam. But 2Belt Mysterio, I'm telling you it's coming. 2belt Mysterio is coming. He's going to win that AAA event. Yeah, he's 48. His birthday is June 2nd. So, yeah, he got it. So it's probably his last home slam. Next year will be his last, because he said I'm not wrestling in the middle. Yeah so, but True Bell Mysterio, that's what I'm starting to call him. True Bell Mysterio, that's what I'm starting to call him. 2bell Mysterio, it's coming. It would be dope if Ray come here and mess it up for him.
Speaker 1:Ray. He's been hurt. He's gotta be getting ready, getting up to come, because you know, I know for sure he's gonna be in Survivor Series at San Diego. Obviously he's for sure gonna be there. I don't know when Ray's going to come back, but he's got to be coming back soon.
Speaker 2:Yeah, man, wouldn't that be dope Ray and Dominic Mysterio versus Ray Mysterio for the AAA On the summer?
Speaker 1:I'm not sure what I'm saying Survivor Series at San Diego, where the Sixers Come on, bro, that would be dope.
Speaker 2:Sixth mid Come on, bro, that would be dope, that would be dope. But yeah, man, too bad Mysterio comes home.
Speaker 1:You heard it here first. If people start calling him that and they're catching on, you know who said it first Got to hate himself. Just want to point that out, sir. Now it's main event time John Cena vs Coderhose Rose. Before we really get into the main event, we gotta talk about what happened the Friday before. In other words, they just said screw all that heel turn stuff on babyface John. I believe that they felt like they couldn't do a natural babyface turn with the limited amount of dates that he's gotten that John Cena has. So it's like just go out there and just hit that switch which they did.
Speaker 1:I'm sure people I mean that's a weird way to do it, you would prefer a story, I'm assuming, with the fallout with Travis Scott has something to do with them hitting that switch quickly. I assume with the Rock not wanting to be involved or busy, that caused them to hit that switch quickly. But before we talk about this match because during the match, no, we maybe thought it was going to be a ruse and John Cena goes right back to being a heel Looks like he's not going to be a heel, especially what happened after the match which we will get to. But I got to ask you do you think that John Cena heel turn, which was what? Four months? Do you think it was a success?
Speaker 2:Woo Success. That's not what I was expecting. It wasn't a success. Yes, that's a damn deal. That's a good question. Was it a success? Yes, that's a good question. I'm going to say yes, I don't. I think, like you said, the service guy is falling out with the WWE. I guess what they're saying is he's not getting the business. I think that hurts it because he would have more storyline with it. But damn success. You got me really thinking. I want to say it was a success, but I can also see why you say it wouldn't, because nobody ever really booed John Cena, because he's John Cena.
Speaker 1:So, yeah, it's hard to say it was a success. I mean he made money. It's hard to say it was a success. I mean it wasn't. I mean he made money, so you can't really say he was a failure.
Speaker 1:My biggest thing is they had this aspiration of doing this heel turn, which it was great. The moment was great, but, thinking about it at the end of the day, john Cena had a limited amount of days. If he was full-time this year, I think they could have made it work, since he had a limited amount of dates. It was going to be hard because they were going to change him back regardless. It was going to be hard for this to work as well as they probably wanted.
Speaker 1:Obviously, apparently, his reasoning for change was because of the Rock and Travis Scott. Travis Scott is in the outs with WWE. The Rock is just too busy to sometimes show up. So, going back to it, they probably should have picked somebody else outside of Travis Scott to. Maybe, like I said, I think someone said it would have been probably better if it was R-Truth, someone that was there, or you mentioned New Day. Somebody has been there as his mouthpiece and then for him to turn on them to make an actual appealing babyface turn. Imagine instead of just saying, hey, I'm babyface now, instead of saying that he turned on New Day and gave them two AAs All right, screw y'all, I'm babyface now Instead he just hey, I'm babyface now, appreciate it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I see your point. I say success because I feel like he executed what was in front of him.
Speaker 1:He did that.
Speaker 2:That's why I was like I was kind of hesitant to say it was a failure and that's why I called it a success, because he executed what was presented to him and he made something out of nothing. Even when the stuff that was supposed to go along with it didn't go well, he worked it and he gave some good promos. Hell that pipe bomb he did with CM Punk's situation where he called out former WWE wrestlers. I feel like he succeeded, even when the storyline maybe didn't wrestling. I feel like he succeeded even when the storyline maybe didn't.
Speaker 1:Basically, most of the Hill terms is him rehashing old rivalries. Now that he's back, babyface looks like he's going to be rehashing old rivalries. We will get to that in a second. You got to give a shout out to John Cena and Cody Rhodes because that WrestleMania main event was just straight garbage. They made up for it and did some with this one 30 minutes plus of just excellent work. Multiple near falls An AA through the announce table A super AA. Multiple cross rows they went through the announce table. A super AA. Multiple cross rows they went through the crowd. Probably one of my favorite spots that I didn't think I was going to. I wouldn't expect to see something like that. Obviously, cody uses the Cody Vader where he comes up from the stage. They used it during the match. John Cena came up with the Cody Vader as he had Cody Rose in AA position hitting with the AA on the ramp. This match had it all 30 plus minutes of just oh, they put on their working shoes.
Speaker 1:John Cena saw a post a couple couple of people posted. This was John Cena when he was when Michael Jordan was with the Washington Wizards. That was the game. He put up 52 points. This was John Cena when Michael Jordan was with the Washington Wizards that was the game he put up 52 points. This was John Cena putting up 52 points in the Wizards jersey because people didn't think he still had any to do something like this. He did, and then something, so you got to give a shout out. Michael Jordan had 51.7 rebounds, four assists on 55% shooting on December 29, 2001. Had 51.7 rebounds for assists on 55% shooting on December 29, 2001. This is what John Cena just did there.
Speaker 2:Man, my favorite part, like you said, was John Cena coming up with Cody Rose on his shoulders. That was my favorite part of the match. They hit the camera angle just right. You seen the smirk on John Cena's face. That was dope like. I'm not even gonna lie to you, that was dope. This match, like you said, compared to what they did at WrestleMania, this succeed even what I thought the match was going to potentially be. John Cena was like alright, but y'all thought I'm done alright. Y'all think I ain't got it. No more, all right. Y'all thought I was finished. Watch this. He hit y'all when he hit us with a Watch this and he this is maybe. Yeah, this is gonna be prison of the moment Because we talked about you know, if WrestleMania is better SummerSlam is better than WrestleMania or whatnot, but this is maybe prison of the moment.
Speaker 2:I think John Cena, with this match, solidified himself as the coach. Shit, he was there, I was, you know, I thought he was there, but you know, I feel like it was some other people in that conversation. I feel like this match, just this match, solidified John Cena's not just as far, because promos and selling and all of that and what he did, you know I get all of that, but this match would get all of that Plus. He was very technically sound in this match. Yeah, man, I got to the party late, my bad bro, I got her late. I was outside the whole time. I just wasn't ready to walk through the doors.
Speaker 1:When you're in there, enjoy the party. Drinks is to the left, all that good stuff. Yeah, man, it was a great match. I was texting up Chris, friend of the pod, and me and him both said like this felt like a retirement match. The way John Cena went on, it looks like he felt like this was it? It's not. If you look at his schedule he has some dates but he has four three PLEs and a retirement match. So technically we're for sure he has at least four matches. We know what one of them is. We'll get to that in a second.
Speaker 2:But this felt like a retirement match but he still got four more in the can it felt like but this felt like a Fasten of the Torch match and he gave the performance of Fasten of the Torch yeah, even though I know you want somebody else to get that torch. I torch yeah, even though I know you want somebody else to get that torch, or at least get that rub. But this felt like, hey, this is me giving you this company. I'm not taking a run with it, but I'm going to give you my A game. Give me yours.
Speaker 1:It was just that good, cody. He got the victory. He gave John Cena a salute before he hit him with one last Cody Crossroads Got the victory, gave him a hug. John Cena obviously said some emotional words to him, basically probably what you said hey, this company's yours now, whatever, something to that nature had Cody tearing up a little bit. Cody gave him the ring, let John Cena do his little wave to the crowd and as he was exiting, an old rival pops up, kicks down the door and we find Brock Lesnar standing there. It's been 18 months since we seen him. Brock Lesnar comes down circles, takes his jacket off, takes his cowboy hat off, hits him with the F5. I mean what Brock Lesnar does. I mean that's nothing new to Brock Lesnar, that's what he does. Clearly this is the next match. I texted you after. It was like they needed a heel for John Cena, since he's going to be babyface.
Speaker 2:You said they don't get no bigger than Brock Lesnar.
Speaker 1:They don't get no bigger than Brock Lesnar.
Speaker 2:They don't, especially in the arc of John Cena.
Speaker 1:Yeah, in the arc of John Cena. But we got to talk and I hate that WWE keeps doing this to me. I mean, they didn't do it to me last time with the Hulk Hogan passing. But yeah, make me talk about these tough situations, wwe. So let's go ahead and dive into that situation.
Speaker 1:Obviously, brock Lesnar he was gone for 18 months for I can't say a lot for he's not the one being sued, but he was named in the suit as he was in there. So when the initial lawsuit came out and the initial reports, I read through it, all those little 18, it had to be like 18, 19 months ago Brock Lesnar's name, allegedly as a bargaining chip for Brock Lesnar to re-sign with the company. In the initial lawsuit there was no mention of Brock Lesnar, but it was insinuated that it was a WWE superstar and it was insinuated that it was Brock Lesnar. But it was insinuated that it was a WWE superstar and it was insinuated that it was Brock Lesnar. The text messages that was sent in that is infall. There's none from Brock Lesnar. The text messages from Vince McMahon to the victim, basically I say it is sounds like a homeboy, sounds like a dude hyping up his homeboy to a girl. That's what the text message was.
Speaker 1:Brock Lesnar's name was never mentioned, again assinuated. Then another form comes out which basically it was like y'all know it's Brock Lesnar. We're just going to say his name. Allegedly it was Brock Lesnar. So again, this man tried to use this victim as a to help out with the contract negotiation. Allegedly nothing ever occurred, though, as allegedly that they had a planned interaction, as they call it, a play date. But nothing ever happened because of weather or someone got sick or to that nature. Supposedly the victim. Nothing ever happened because of weather or someone got sick or to that nature, supposedly the victim also said that she never met up with Brock Lesnar. She never had any interaction with him outside of, just, like I said, vince McMahon hyping up his homeboy to this victim. So we get to pretty much. That's what it is. There's obviously a lot more to it. I'll just hit the the main beats of it. Uh, wwe apparently did their own investigation to have me in them. What I just saw is they cleared brock lesnar of any wrongdoing four weeks ago. Also what I read. I don't know how true this is, but AAA said it. Some people also reported it John Cena wanted to fight Brock Lesnar. Obviously, john Cena's been hitting his beats with his rivals, so that's what brought Brock Lesnar back.
Speaker 1:Brock Lesnar comes back did divide the Twitterverse, divide social media. A lot of people didn't want him. A lot of people don't like him. A lot of that is they see the headline and instantly say he did it. He's a bad guy. They saw the headline. Brock Lesnar was a part of the lawsuit. Some people feel like Brock Lesnar was the one being sued as well. Brock Lesnar was not the one being sued. He isn't the one being sued, but it's still a dicey situation. But apparently WWE cleared him and they felt comfortable enough they could bring him out here after being gone for 18 months. I doubt TKO WWE would bring someone out there if they felt like they was clearly in the wrong. We talked about it a while ago. We haven't even said this man's name in a long time but Odyssey Jones. He had an allegation against him. They got him up out of there quick, fast and in a hurry Yep. And unfortunately for Odyssey Jones, it turned out that the allegation was completely false. By that time, that man lost his job. His reputation was ruined.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he was done About the time he came out clear.
Speaker 1:But Brock Lesnar. I said his reputation was ruined, even though he was just attached to it. He wasn't a part of it. His reputation was ruined but he got the grace that he never got fired from WWE. Because he's Brock Lesnar? That's probably because he's Brock Lesnar. Just call a spade a spade. He's Brock Lesnar, that's probably because he's Brock Lesnar.
Speaker 2:Just call a spade a spade. He's Brock Lesnar.
Speaker 1:That's what you're going to say he's going to draw, yeah, so. But TKO WWE said they cleared him four weeks ago. It's a dice situation. I'm I mean, I like Brock Lesnar, I like like I say he's a draw, I enjoy his matches. Would I have brought him back? I don't know, am I shocked that they brought him back? No, I feel like there was a point he was coming back. But I do feel like this might be his last year as SummerSlam is in Minnesota. Next year, as his hometown, that might be it for him. That's how I feel. If you're going to bring Brock Lesnar back, you got to go ahead and he's got to go ahead and give back and take some losses. Go ahead and give that rub to people like Bron Breaker and Gunter. So I imagine Brock Lesnar is going to be taking a lot of L's this next year if he's here for the next year, from my assumption. But I said a lot. It's tough. Give me your thoughts.
Speaker 2:Well, let me go back to the last thing. Let me start with the last thing. You said Brock Lesnar ain't taking a lot of L's. That's one thing Brock Lesnar ain't ready to do. He ain't ready to take a bunch of L's. He gonna take his L to John Cena, more than likely, but after that, if he sticks around cause that's the thing if he sticks around, if he sticks around, he ain't gonna take a bunch of L's.
Speaker 2:It would be dope for us to finally get the match versus him and Gunther, but at this point Gunther ain't going to be the babyface, brock Lesnar ain't going to be the babyface. So we're not going to get the Gunther versus Brock Lesnar that people want, because both of them are heel, both of them dominate as heels and because of everything that's going on. You know Brock Lesnar before he was on that Latwiner status where you know he was getting shirt. He's not going to get that now. He's going to get booed out the building. Cool.
Speaker 2:As far as the lawsuits and stuff goes, like you said, it never was a. The lawsuit was never towards Brock. Brock Lesnar Let me make sure I say it right, I already named one. The lawsuit never was towards him. But you know how it is Guilty by association. That's just what it boils down to. Brock Lesnar was guilty by association because his name because it was insinuating his name was connected to the person that people thought that we all know they was talking about. That being said, if John Cena wants to fight Brock Lesnar one time, you bring Brock Lesnar back this one time Whether it's just this one time and you see how it goes after that and if you can continue with the Brock Lesnar situation. But if you, you can build this match with Brock Lesnar just popping up one time, because John Cena is scheduled to be at three SmackDowns between her and Clash, so John Cena could build this match up. You just need Brock Lesnar to pull up one time.
Speaker 1:That's usually what he does anyways.
Speaker 2:So you ain't that big of a deal. You got Brock Lesnar pull up one time. John Cena's here every Friday. He's going to build the show. Cool, you have it over at Clash of Clash of Clash. I don't think Brock Lesnar is going to get the same reception that he got here, that he got overseas, because typically that's not how it works. Yeah, you know who get booed overseas. You know who get booed up season. You know how that works. If John Cena wanted to do it one time, you let it happen.
Speaker 2:The internet was in the uproar, the wrestling community was in the uproar. For me, I wasn't third because I always, well, it was. You know he's connected, but it ain't him. And from everything me, I wasn't third Because I always, well, it was Brock. You know he's connected, but it ain't him. And from everything I've read, he ain't. It ain't like he was setting this up or he was attempting to do any of this stuff. It was just them trying to get him back because he was on the fence. So I never. I personally let me speak for me. I never personally connected Brock Lesnar to the whole situation, but I also know how to separate. I also know how to separate stuff. A lot of people don't. People see their name, such and such name, in an article that's connected to Vince McMahon. I can't work with him. A lot of people feel a way about your relationship now because he was ever with Trump.
Speaker 2:Now people admit it. Hey, sometimes you got to separate the two. It is what it is, but I am happy that they gave John Cena what he wanted. Brock did a lot, he carried this company. If he won one match with Brock Lesnar, I'm telling y'all now at the beginning of my run y'all need to go figure that out, because this is what I want and, like I said, they cleared him four weeks ago who, brock Lesnar, come back, do the one match. You see how the reception goes. The one match go. Good, you keep using them. If not, hey, you ain't got to work with them.
Speaker 1:No, more what I see what happens. I assume he's probably going to be here for at least Clash. Probably go away. Come back for the Royal Rumble. Get in a feud during the Rumble, fight somebody at WrestleMania. Go away, come back, probably July. Pick up a few, have his match at SummerSlam. That's how I see it with Brock Lesnar. After that, I don't know. There's not necessarily much you can offer. There's not much Brock Lesnar can offer to this current climate of WWE. He can get people. That's what I was going to say in terms of he's not winning no title of WWE. He can get people old. That's what I was going to say. He's not winning no title. You're not putting a title on Brock Lesnar in 2025. Only thing you can do. But you said he's probably not going to lose much. I think he's going to lose to John Cena. I'll put probably my four on John Cena winning in Clash. Same here.
Speaker 2:I've got John Cena winning in Clash. Yeah same here. I've got John Cena winning that match. But I'm saying, as far as if Brock sticks around, he ain't going to keep losing that I think it depends on how many matches I mean he'll probably win.
Speaker 1:If the matches that I say that he's going to be in, it's John Cena, he'll be in the Royal Rumble. He'll lose that at Cal. I got him doing three matches. You don't think he will be willing to lose those three matches. I can see him maybe winning the SummerSlam match, because it's his last match. If it's his last match, he seems like the type of person that might want to win his last match, unless they give him a good opponent.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he's going to win his last match, unless they give him a good opponent.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he don't win his last match Unless they give him a good opponent that he respects enough to willingly give to. Because one thing about Brock Lesnar if he doesn't respect you or think you are on his level, he's not going to lose to you. He'll lose to somebody if they're on his level. I remember him saying like I don't mind losing, but I'm not just going to lose to somebody if they're on his level. I remember him saying I don't mind losing, but I'm not just going to lose to anybody.
Speaker 2:Yeah, best thing. Brock ain't going to just wrestle with anybody either. He ain't coming out of the house with Bronson Reed. Nah, no shade to Bronson Reed. He ain't coming out of the house with Bronson Reed. It's no guarantee at this point he coming out for Brian Breaker.
Speaker 1:I think he will come out Well. I feel like that's what WWE wants him to do. Yeah, but I don't ain't no guarantee.
Speaker 2:I think he'll come out for Gunther, but I ain't even 100% sure he's coming out for Brian Breaker.
Speaker 1:That's probably the plan. That that's probably the plan. That's what I think is the plan, if, if anybody should retire him in what we have, what we have in WWE right now it's. He came out to us for Omos, though, but he won that match speaking of first that bad.
Speaker 2:That bad, because where the hell is Brad?
Speaker 1:I don't know. I mean he. You can't miss him. I know, I know Triple H walk backstage every week. Ain't like he overlook him.
Speaker 2:They pulled him from the other promotion when he was over winning, had a championship doing his thing, just for him to say, hey, now it's time for you to come on back. And then he come back and they don't do nothing, straight back to catering. Even if he had to win, at this point I don't even think he's there.
Speaker 1:At some point call me if y'all need me to come. I'm tired of using my fucking five miles.
Speaker 2:Yeah, nah, he ain't probably left the house, he ain't getting paid.
Speaker 1:That's how it matters, but yeah, so I mean, it's a dicey situation with Brock Lesnar. We'll see how far it goes, how far he makes his last run, if this is a last run, but for sure he's going to face John Cena. So we know John Cena for sure has four matches. One is in the books with Brock Lesnar. Before we get out of here, what is your last three matches for John Cena? Who do you think they could be?
Speaker 2:Oh, knowing who John Cena is, one of the matches he's going to put somebody on. I would hope so Because, like we said, we talked about Brock Lesnar. We don't think Brock Lesnar, if he be on the retirement run, he ain't going to lose, because where John Cena going to be? Like all right now, after the Brock Lesnar situation? John Cena probably like, all right, who y'all need me to take his L to Such and such? All right, go Go on running Now. I think he going to lose the match after the Brock Lesnar match or he going to lose that Fair World match, maybe both. He ain't going out on a three-match losing streak. You know what I mean.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, you're right, so he's going to.
Speaker 2:I think he's going to beat Brock Lesnar right, and then I think he'll win the next match. But that 39th main event to me is up in the air. He might lose that.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah, yeah, because he got Clash, he got Australia Survivor Series and Deceptive, it's going to be tailor-made for John Cena. Whatever that fourth PLE is, or Saturday Night's main event is it's in Boston? Well, yeah, it's in Boston. Man event is it's in Boston?
Speaker 2:Well, yeah, it's in Boston, it's going to be in Boston.
Speaker 1:I just don't want to. They did go Berger a little dirty. I don't think they'll do John to see they're not doing John Cena like that.
Speaker 2:The whole episode is going to be based around John Cena. That last hour. No commercial breaks it, last commercial. And then Triple H is going to be at the side of the ring. Hey, we got to get your speech in, let's wrap this up. Let's wrap this up. I'm telling you. Now Triple H is going to be like let's wrap this up. Hey, one, two, three, it ain't even a full pit.
Speaker 1:It's over. It's going to be full of people in the in the ring, yeah, but that's in December. We got not a long ways to go, but it's creeping up. John Cena will soon be a retired WWE superstar in a couple months, but his next stop is he's gotta conquer the beast yet again. But that'll do it for our review of some some great show. Great Good night one, great night two.
Speaker 1:Next up is Clash of Paris. Looking forward to it. I ain't got nothing to hate on for real, except for Jerry Jones. Stop being an idiot. I ain't gonna like elaborate too much. Y'all know what's going on. Jerry Jones is just pay the man, please, and thank you. Please like, please subscribe, leave a comment. You need something to sleep in at night, just saying Go ahead, take us home. Q Jelly.
Speaker 2:Roll. Shout out to Jelly Roll for taking the L, I ain't gonna lie, I just thought about it. Shout out to Jelly Roll.
Speaker 1:No, no, I completely missed over that match, didn't.
Speaker 2:I, and I wasn't no help, because I just thought about it when we was looking.
Speaker 1:Golly, it was so shocking. Yeah, jelly Roll versus Randy Orton, faced off against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre Very shocking, very shocking that they actually not only did Jelly Roll and Randy Orton lost, but Jelly Roll took that. But it was a great performance by Jelly Roll.
Speaker 2:And he took that bump with Logan Paul from the turnbuckle to the table. Yeah, shout out to Jelly Roll. I was a welcome surprise for me of him taking the pin and taking the pin and taking the big bump. So, yeah, shout out to Jelly Roll.
Speaker 1:That's my fault y'all. I ain't gonna lie. I just got off work. I'm tired, that's on me.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I don't have an excuse because I'm on vacation, so I should have thought about it, but I didn't Until the end, I'm glad you thought about it before we got out here?
Speaker 1:Damn, because that wasn't a bad match either. It did what it needed to be done. Shout out Jelly Roll for taking the L. Most celebrities would be like I ain't taking no L. What y'all want, why he likes his business. Damn, I'm tripping. I need to get a nap. Take us home. Q man, you're right on the back of your boy.
Speaker 2:Mr Bell, aka Jerry Jones, is going to keep doing Jerry Jones things and it make me happy, boy, let me tell you it make me happy. But nah, we'll catch y'all on. The next half. Football season will be back soon, damn I'm tripping.
