Speaker 1:

Welcome, welcome, welcome back to another episode of. From my Perspective, I'm your boy, dion. I come and tell you what these perspective takes and you know I'm joined by the man, the myth, the legend himself. He got legendary on his shirt. Captain Hater, how you doing.

Speaker 2:

I didn't even notice that I had legendary on the damn shirt. What do you want to do? It's your boy, mr Bill, aka, I can't say your name up on the spot. Might not put you in my corner, dear.

Speaker 1:

Hey, man Living life, I'm ready for the weekend, but we're almost there. This episode is going to be a little different. We got a lot of different things to hit this episode, so we're just going to get right into it. Coming up next week, though, you'll get our predictions of Clash and Clash at the Castle. I don't know why. I just had a brain fart and forgot exactly what the PLE was called Clash Castle. There's a PLE next week from WWE Clash Repairs.

Speaker 2:

The one that I thought was this week.

Speaker 1:

I'm tripping, I'm tripping, I'm tripping, but we just received word that this is going to be the last main roster PLE outside of Saturday Night's Main Event. We'll get to that On Peacock. They're going to be officially making the move to ESPN for the next PLE. That's going to be Wrestle Palooza on September 20th. So before we get to the nitty gritty, we talked about it literally last episode of our discussion on how WWE moved with the streaming stuff. We got streams that's going to be costing $30. We're about to go from like $12.99 to $30 to watch at PLE, as if you don't have no ESPN or ESPN Plus. It's confusing and the fact that they're moving it this quickly, even though it was still confusing, is a little wild to me. But how are you feeling about ESPN getting WrestleBalooza and PLEs moving forward?

Speaker 2:

First, I'm trying to figure out, like you said, the whole subscription thing, because at one point I thought if you had YouTube TV or Sling, then you got it. But then I'm thinking, now that you don't, so I'm I need to figure this out, because I got YouTube TV and I'm hoping I could just you know. Well, again, I don't know if that's I need to figure this out, because I got YouTube TV and I'm hoping I can just you know, log in. I don't know if that's going to be the case. So now I got to spend an extra $30? I hope not. It's still cheaper than a PLE, like if you well, not a PLE if you buy a pay-per-view, like if you bought, like UFC before they moved to the third mount, so it's still cheaper than that a month. They moved to the third mount, so it's still cheaper than that a month. But you know, this stuff started to add up after a while.

Speaker 1:

Like all these subscriptions started to add up after a while. It's getting ridiculous, and especially WWE. When they brought out their own streaming service, the WWE Network, it was only $9.99. They went from $9.99. Then they moved it to Peacock, which, honestly, if you depending on which tier you had a Peacock, it went down to $4.99. Now, obviously, peacock, they raised their prices. Panty, but they raised their prices. It got up to about $12.99 still cheap. Now we're jumping to about $30. So we'll see, but that's not all that's going on with WWE. Obviously Wrestle for Loser I gotta ask you this. No, they're obviously. They added this PLE.

Speaker 1:

There is no secret that part of the reason why they added this PLE on September 20th is they want to compete with AEW. Pretty much they're trying to dry up AEW. They don't want them to get another TV deal. Wwe wants the Monopoly back. What they had from about what? 2002 to 2019, they want that Monopoly back. They want to dictate what to pay these wrestlers. They want it back. And it's a terrible thing that they're doing Business. You know how business is grimy. I understand it. But Monopoly is bad. And AEW, even though we don't review it, we talk about it a little bit. It's still. Great that AEW's out there. These wrestlers still can make a living with a show. That's on a high TV program, it's on TBS, it's on TNT. It's making great money. It may not be on WWE's level, but it's still at a higher level than being on the independent scene. The rest of your career.

Speaker 2:

All right, let's give you your order. Is it petty? Yes, would I be doing this if I'm WWE and I'm trying to stop AEW? Nah, because then you look like the bully on the block. You can't keep. For a while they was running them NXT PLEs against AEW. That's right, they still getting their numbers over. We're going to do the big boys now. Do you really have to? Now let me ask you this Tell me what you think. Tell me if I'm wrong. Do you think they're running it this week, this time purposely on a Sunday, or are they trying to avoid, let's say, maybe college?

Speaker 1:

football Because you're still going to run into the NFL. I mean, NFL probably do just that. I think they're doing it purposely just to combat AEW. But what AEW is probably going to do is what they did when NXT tried to move to their block. They moved it early in the day, so it's going to be a good day for wrestling fans. You'll probably get AEW at 1 o'clock and then WWE is going to sneak behind them about 7 o'clock. That's what AEW should do. We'll see if they do it or see if they actually want to go head-to-head. Going head-to-head with that show is probably not going to be a good idea because it's going to be John Cena and Brock Lesnar on that show. That's the one match we know.

Speaker 2:

How good do you think it's really going to do? Okay, let me ask you this Would you rather compete against pro football or college football? Because me, from my perspective, I don't think I would. Part of me thinks I would rather go against college football. But if you go at like 8 o'clock, 7 o'clock, you kind of run it into. It's only one NFL game. Everybody might not be watching it. So I guess Sunday does kind of make sense. But I don't know if I want to go against the big boys, Especially if you're WWE, you're going against, you're purposely going against AEW, Then you're also going against the NFL and I really don't think each of those fans cross over that much.

Speaker 2:

I think it's a crossover. I do think it's, like you know, being diagrammed. It's people in the middle, but I don't think it's that big. I think it's AEW's hardcore fans, it's WWE hardcore fans. You got a few people in the middle who just like wrestling. But I think I would rather go a late-night college game, because most of those you know, especially by that time, you know you're in conference schedule. Oh, yeah, Because you know you're in conference schedule. Oh yeah, yeah, Because you know these conferences got 20 teams now.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we'll see. I probably would, because there's some hardcore college fans. Some people say they like watching college football more than NFL, which I can understand it. I think there is more bad games the big games because usually obviously they're going to put it on the big games for college football, nfl. You can run across a stinker every now and then Now you can in college but usually those stinkers are early on in the day. The stinkers is early on in the day, but you're liable to get a stinker at 425 on the NFL, depending on the matchup. And they don't really know, especially early on. They don't start shifting around the times of these games until they've realized who's good and who's not. That's when they start. Hey, we got to boot y'all off. Sunday night football. Get these two teams good on Sunday night football. Yeah, we'll see. I don't know it's a lot.

Speaker 2:

That's a lot.

Speaker 1:

One other thing, though, about WWE. Well, two other things I just want to ask your perspective on. First thing is it's official John Cena's last match will be December 30th on Saturday night's main event. It won't be on NBC, but it will be on Peacock, which, in other words, john Cena's not going to get the Goldberg treatment. It's going to be ad-free. We're going to get the full speech, so shout out to them. Apparently, wwe considered having John Cena's retired match go up against another AEW show, which I mean I know y'all hate AEW, but come on guys.

Speaker 2:

We're not trying to stop them out, I'm stopping them out hard dog.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's ridiculous. But another thing this is just rumors that I've heard and speculations that I heard that I want your perspective on and I think it's an excellent idea. Wwe Monday Night Raw is already going to be going at an earlier time slot because they're across the pond, so they're going to be going earlier, but there's talks that they potentially could be starting earlier. With Monday Night Football coming up, they could be starting. You know, give them about that 6 o'clock start or 5 o'clock start to try not to compete with Monday Night Football because, hey, Monday Night Football, usually when that comes around, like you said, they usually start going through the motions.

Speaker 2:

So moving the start time up for Monday Night, I think that actually is a good idea. Like you said, as long as you do it at 6, give you a two-hour show back, hey, you'll keep the fans invested that long. You ain't got to during enough NFL season you can get in, get out, maybe do an 830, depending on if the storyline is good or whatnot, and the message is good. So, yeah, I do think that is a good idea. I do, trying to go against AEW two times with the John Cena is kind of petty, because you know what John Cena is going to do. John Cena is going to drop, Especially John Cena's last match. You know what John Cena's going to do, but you was telling me this pretty far and you was like it's on Peacock, it's not on NBC. So Saturday Night's main events are just going strictly to Peacock.

Speaker 2:

So this isn't me. Maybe I'm old. This might make me sound older than what I actually am. Wouldn't it be better to be on basic television than an app? We're talking about NBC. It's one of the core four. Wouldn't you rather have that as a more a very?

Speaker 1:

You get more eyeballs on me, ok. So question I'm going to ask you a question. If you were producing a TV show, producing something, would you rather have the restrictions of having to have commercials and having to have a hard out, or that freedom of not having that or having to have these? You can put your commercials when you want, you can put your ads when you want and you don't have a hard out. That's the difference.

Speaker 2:

I do understand how Peacock in that situation Peacock is better, but I also do understand, like I just said, john Cena gonna drop so you could get Slim Jim to pay for this hole, to make sure ain't no commercial break and we not have NBC, we not having no hard out. This is John Cena. Or, like we joked about a month ago hey, this match is over. Wrap this up. He got a 10-minute time frame. I don't care, give it lay in here, get his AA and we up out of here, so they could make it a hard out.

Speaker 2:

I again this might make me sound older than what I am you used to want to be on those time slots because those like your NBCs, your ABCs, your Foxes, your CBSes. You wanted to be on those channels because more people, everybody had those channels, especially when I was growing up. But I guess nowadays people don't really have it. It's either you have cable or you don't.

Speaker 1:

I guess some people still have antennas.

Speaker 2:

But I don't know, that was just my thinking and, like I said, that might be a very old school way of thinking, because everything is an out now, everything is a streaming service. So I guess you know they're trying to get people to go to Peacock, so having Saturday Night's main event goes to Peacock, I do wonder, will they continue, like next year, because now they got the PLEs with ESPN will they continue to have Saturday Night's main events going forward?

Speaker 1:

Mm-hmm, I mean that's interesting, I know. I mean the Peacock contract pretty much ended in March. That's when the contract was originally supposed to end. They're done with them. In March the WrestleMania was supposed to be the first PLE on ESPN, but I guess WWE was like, hey, we hit y'all with so many amount of dates. We fulfilled our agreement, we slide into ESPN, which, going to ESPN, is a big deal. It's been one of our leaders of sports. You consider yourself a sports entertainment? You die. Now ESPN is the worldwide leader. There's a lot going on in WWE. We haven't even talked about the storylines. There's a lot more. We'll get more to that next week. There's a lot going on. But I'm excited for Clash. But I'm interested in seeing what WrestlePalooza's gonna look like. I'm really trying to figure out if I'm gonna be able to watch this on WrestlePalooza. I'm gonna figure it out If all else fails.

Speaker 2:

I know a couple of legal streaming sites. I ain't going to say what they own on the pod, but I know a couple I'm trying to figure out. I'm going to have to budget this 30. I ain't going to lie to you, the budget is getting a little pricey at this point. I need to know what else is going to be on. I really need to know what else is going to be on the streaming service. Yeah, right now it sounded like an ESPN 30. Like well, espn Plus is what they call it ESPN Plus where, if you get, you can just pay for the app and you can get all these out-of-market games like college games and all that stuff.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean I have ESPN Plus and honestly I only have it because I have the bundle Also. I mean at one point in time they did you could watch oh, I did watch old boxing matches like Muhammad, you can watch the Rumble in the Jungle, stuff like that. But the best thing about ESPN Plus if you're a family member, you have a kid that goes to one of those small level college schools. That's the reason I have ESPN Plus, because they have a Murray State versus Austin Peay soccer game or they have a. I mean, if you are, that's the best thing. If you are an alum of those schools or you have a loved one or a child, that's the best thing for ESPN Plus. Outside of that, espn Plus is pointless for real.

Speaker 2:

I was going to say, if you like, really, if you deep into the sports, espn Plus is your thing because, in fact, it's our type of sports at all times. Right, but you're not going to charge me $30 for this ESPN Plus. You know what I mean. You got to give me something else, and it's got to be more than WWE.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because ESPN Plus, even without the bundle that I have, it's not that much. It's like, I think, $10.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think it's like $10 without the bundle. So, yeah, it's an extra $20 or $100. What else are you giving me?

Speaker 1:

It's got to be more than WWE? Yeah, definitely for sure. But speaking of getting more, it looks like the MLB is about to give us more, and this is actually exciting stuff. Pretty much, you know, mlb is about to give us more and this is actually exciting stuff pretty much. We talked about the expansion in WNBA. We talked about a potential expansion in NBA, which I feel like they probably could do something similar to this. Mlb is doing better. There is 30 MLB teams. They're looking to add two more teams. Rumor is one of them is Charlotte, another one is Nashville. Also, another one is Utah or Portland. So obviously two of those teams on either side of the country is going to get a team.

Speaker 1:

But the best way to put this potential realignment is the NFL. It's going to look like the NFL. You're going to have these eight divisions, four teams each. That's plain and simple. You're going to have two conferences. You're going to have the NL AL eight divisions, four teams each. I don't know how they're going to do the scheduling, but NFL, how are you feeling about it?

Speaker 2:

You know what? Can I say this real quick? First, you were a very nice man and I'm going to tell you why you were a very nice man Because you actually gave Charlotte an opportunity to be bad. They think they're going to get a team Because everybody named Mama know they're going to.

Speaker 1:

Nashville. I'm reading what the list gave me. I looked at it and I was like it's probably going to be Nashville, but I'll read it out.

Speaker 2:

I've got his name Parsons. He worked for ESB. He just said on every platform, man, it's Nashville to shoot with. He said it on the Pat McAfee. I listened to him on Tony Kornheiser's show. He said, yeah, it's going to be Nashville. Hey, I listened to Busta, Only on Tony Kornheiser. They was like, yeah, it's going to be Nashville, but you give a Charlotte love and I appreciate that. As a person who spent a lot of time in North Carolina growing up, you know what I'm saying. Shout out to North Carolina, Y'all not going to get the MLB team. Not saying y'all not deserving, but Nashville going to get that team. It's just your shit, that's just it. So I'm excited for it. I love expansion. Talk Hell. I want everybody to expand. Go to 38.

Speaker 1:

Figure it out. You know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

Figure it out Now baseball. You probably I don't. You know what I'm saying. Them numbers ain't always the best, so you got to see over time if they can really go to 38. The NFL can go to 38 tomorrow and they not going to miss a beat.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they can figure it out easy.

Speaker 2:

They not going to miss a beat. I'm just throwing 38. It could be 40, I mean 36, 34, whatever. You know what I'm saying. That being said, I'm excited for Nashville. I think the other one will probably be Utah, be South Lake City, even though they did just get a hockey team too. They're trying to build that place up. Yeah, so they got the hockey team, they got the basketball team. You know what I'm saying. I was going to say football, but they don't got football. I'm thinking the Denver, I'm thinking the.

Speaker 1:

Denver, I'm thinking the Denver, utah and Vegas. They building up. Vegas is about to be. They're about to get the Oakland A's, supposedly, but they going to get them?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they going to get them. I think and that's what he was saying was like that the only way the MLB is going to expand is if they feel confident about Tampa Bay getting their arena situation handled in Oakland. Well, I guess do we still call them Oakland Because they play in Sacramento and they go into Las Vegas, but the athletics they're going to get out of that minor league stadium in Sacramento and they're going to have their stadium fixed in Las Vegas. He said that's the only way they're going to expand is both of these things were finished. So MLB must feel confident that both of these things is going, both of these stadiums is going to get fixed, yeah. Now the question is how they're going to do the NL and the AL. Are they just going to add a team to you know, each one and then build after divisions that way? Or are just going to add a team to each one and then build after divisions that way? Or are they going to do the crazy shakeup like put the Yankees and the Mets in the same division?

Speaker 1:

They're going to do it geographically, like how college football should be. They're going to do it geographically. There's going to be some teams moving from the NL to AL, which now it doesn't matter as much as it used to they used to have different rules it doesn't matter as much, but some teams are going to be moving, but they're going to do it geographically. So, for example, potential from what this list is giving me, the potential realignment the NL Midwest will have the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago White Sox, the St Louis Cardinals and the Cincinnati Reds geographically.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but are we sure they're going to do that? Because they might not want to put both the Chicago's and they might want to put them in separate conferences.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. That's just going with the purpose. Sammy man, that's what anything I saw did geographically is more likely than what they're going to do which makes sense.

Speaker 2:

But it also makes sense to just do it easy like, hey, hurry, one of y'all go to this one, one of y'all go to that one, because we already got this stuff spread out. We'll figure it out from there. But no, I think geographic does make the most sense, obviously, especially if they go Now. Portland is interesting and the reason I say Portland would be interesting is because of the fact you got Seattle up there and no man's land. You got A-Self. They kind of they would have a natural rowel if it was to go to Portland. They would have a natural rowel if it was to go to Portland, because the distance is not as far. Salt Lake is close but it's not as close as Portland. No, portland would be an interesting choice for that reason.

Speaker 2:

With the WNBA, portland's getting the WNBA team, they got to see how the storm already Already beef. Yeah. So you could build a rivalry, which that's what you know sports is Like. We don't like your team. I don't feel like Seattle and Salt Lake are going to have a real beef. That's where Seattle and Portland might actually have a little situation. So Portland would be an interesting choice, but, like I said, like we talked about, salt Lake City already got everything in the making. They already got a ownership group in place, so it's probably going to be Salt Lake City, salt Lake City too. But you know, my question is NBA talk about expansion, wnba expanded, mlb expanded Bro, what we got to do to get on somebody's list In the city of Louisville, like what do we have to do to get on somebody's list?

Speaker 1:

No, so with this realignment stuff, my first one, I was like damn, louisville been nice. And then he was like we got the Louisville bats. They not going to even sniff us because we got the bats, but it's crazy.

Speaker 2:

We got a AAA team.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we got a AAA team. It's just crazy. I think Nashville does.

Speaker 2:

I didn't realize that. I think it's AAA. It might be AA but they got one.

Speaker 1:

I just think it's crazy to me is that the majority of the baseball bats that is used by MLB players, that's it, is made here and we got a AAA team. We take pride in our AAA team. They have the most. How do they put it? It's the best name in baseball. How they call it the most appropriate name in baseball because they're Louisville bats. It just rings off the tongue but we're not getting one. For a long time we thought we was going to get an NBA team. When I was in middle school that was a time that they were saying that we could get the Sacramento Kings. I'm 28 now and there's no word. We're getting the Sacramento Kings and me, my mama, my grandmama and my unborn child knows that if and when the NBA expands, it's Vegas and Seattle. It's those two teams.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the Louisville expansion talk, the Louisville getting the NBA team talk, has been going on for so long. Right, because with Vancouver, when the Grizzlies left Vancouver, louisville was in the running with Memphis. Memphis had an NBA arena, louisville did. At one time, like you said, there was rumors of us in Sacramento. There also was rumors of us in Milwaukee, because Milwaukee hadn't renewed, they wanted a new arena or they wanted to update into the arena and, of course, junior Bridgman and RIP owned part of the Milwaukee Bucks. There was always rumors that, you know, if they don't, if the city of Milwaukee don't take care of the Bucks, they're going to come to Louisville. And none of this happened. And, like you said, it's Seattle and Vegas. We already know MLB, we know it's Nashville and now, times out of 10, it's going to be St Louis, salt Lake City, in order to beat Portland.

Speaker 2:

Wnba expanded. We was hoping, right, we was hoping. We knew it was a long shot, but we was hoping. We didn't get that call either. We ain't even. They expanded four teams and we didn't get the call. You feel me, we didn't get the call and we're waiting on the UFL, their movement, because they said they're not going to expand for another year or two, cool. Still ain't heard nothing. The talk came out. Ain't heard nothing since. Like what we got to do, man, like we got to go for the hockey team right.

Speaker 1:

Or do we got to go for the MLS expansion? I think we can get an MLS team. We got the stadium, yeah, they can just move them up. They don't even got to expand. Hey, y'all want to move up to a different level. That's all they really got to do.

Speaker 2:

Shout out to the Racing. We do have them. That's a little versed but I feel like as far on the top level because, like the Soccer League, we got the best, like you said, but they triple A. We got the Soccer League but it's on the second tour. The Racing is the only top tour that that we got. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

You know what I'm saying. Can we get some? Yeah, let's hear it. We definitely going to get no NFL team, though, unless the Colts y'all want to move on down or something, because I mean, y'all are in, y'all got some issues, y'all got a lot of issues up there.

Speaker 2:

Like I said, if the NFL did all of that, I mean if the NFL could expand to, like I said, 34, 36, 38 teams, I still don't know. Like, if they go to 34, bro, I don't think we would be one of those. They go to 36.

Speaker 1:

Honestly, I don't know if they care. I feel like we are too close to Cincinnati and Indianapolis for us to get an NFL team.

Speaker 1:

That's true, but I don't know, brother, yeah, I don't know, but I brought an Indy for a reason, because they have a new man at the helm. They've been calling him Indiana Jones. Shout out to Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones has been named the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts for this season. Anthony Richardson could not beat out Daniel Jones. Like I said, that says a lot to me. Daniel Jones, he's not that great of a quarterback. He was drafted high but he's not that great. He had his moments. He had thrown some downs every now and then. But Anthony Richardson, he lost the starting job to Daniel Jones.

Speaker 1:

We kind of saw it. The writing was on the wall after the first preseason game. We was hoping maybe he did some things in practice to show he was better. I believe the moment he took himself out and said I was too tired, that was probably what did it. From the Indianapolis coach fans I know after that point they was done with Anthony Richardson and was ready to move on from that point forward. So it looks like the Colts going to go with Danny Doms and they might be trying to tank for a quarterback. So hey, how you feeling? I mean, I know you're not a Colts fan. You don't really like the Colts. You know it benefits your team.

Speaker 2:

I was going to say I'm feeling. I'm actually feeling very well because I feel like you put Daniel Jones in. Those are two W's for us. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

I feel like from our play it was two W's regardless. Whichever one they went with.

Speaker 2:

They got solid Besides the quarterback. They solid. I ain't saying they excel at any position, but they are solid at every position besides quarterback. So you're going to put in. Let's be real, like you said, neither one of them is going to do anything. Neither one of them is going to turn into Patrick Mahomes, daniel Jones or Anthony Richland. Neither one of them is going to turn into Patrick Mahomes. But you put in Daniel Jones, he'll win you one game a year. He also gonna lose you 7-0. Right, he'll lose you 7-0. So I like my odds. We might be the one game he win, but we also might be one of the seven days he lose for you. I like my odds. And Daniel Jones is a solid backup quarterback. Let's be fair.

Speaker 1:

He can come in and if your starter gets hurt, he pull him a hamstring he out for about two, three weeks. He can get you about one, two, three weeks.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he also don't lose you one or two. He can get you one or two, but you going to start off with him and that also tells you that they completely done with Anthony Richardson. So that fifth-year option is not getting picked up.

Speaker 1:

Oh no, he can forget that. He can get that fifth-year money.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he ain't getting that fifth-year money. It's over Now. The question is is Anthony Richardson going to get another opportunity somewhere else?

Speaker 1:

He was a what Fourth-year pick he going to get another one? It takes a long time for these NFL teams to give up on top five picks. Definitely top five quarterback. We look at Danny Jones, trey Lynn is still getting the opportunities.

Speaker 2:

Agree with you, but I don't think I agree with you. I don't think he might be doing it.

Speaker 1:

You don't think. If he got, you don't think if someone would be willing to trade for him or if he got released today, he wouldn't be on another team tomorrow.

Speaker 2:

No, no, because they gave up on him and went to. Daniel Jones Says a lot. Tell me if I'm wrong, deion, that's kind of telling that they hey, we would rather you're an athletic freak and you could swing the. That boy got arm strength. He could swing that ball 70 yards down. He ain't accurate, but he could swing that ball 70 yards down the field. But we'd rather go with Daniel Jones, who we he ain't accurate but he can sling that box after he throws down the field. But we'd rather go with Daniel Jones, who we know ain't accurate and who we know is gonna sit back there in that pocket and throw an interception or two. A game, a game. And we feel like we got a better chance to win with him. I feel like that's telling, I think, that we completely giving up on you. We're not going to pick up this fifth year option. And if other teams is going to look at that and be like, if they're going to take Daniel Jones, then what are we?

Speaker 1:

doing. I'm telling you, man, these teams I disagree. These teams will give if you a top five pick, if you're a top five pick, that's guaranteed at least four years. Four or five years at least, regardless if it's with the same team or not.

Speaker 2:

I hope you're right. But I feel like I hope you're right because I don't want to see the brother not have a job. I want to see him get the opportunity. But I just feel like, man, if they picking Danny Jones over you, man, that might be curtains.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, somebody going to pick him up? He might. I can see him getting traded for him. Somebody might trade for him. But we are pretty sure the Colts ain't going to be hanging a banner this year, pretty sure. But it would be nice if Louisville can hang back their 2013 National Championship banner because the Michigan Wolverines and hang back their 2013 National Championship banner Because the Michigan Wolverines.

Speaker 1:

They did win the college football National Championship, the 2024 National Champions, but they was under investigation, a deep investigation too. It was basically called red-handed. They was caught. They had it. They had the money in their hands, had the die on the money and everything. They was caught. They had it. They had the money in their hands, had the die on the money and everything. They was caught stealing signs and their punishment came down the last Saturday or last Friday and their punishment was none of their wins got vacated. They get to keep all their wins. They get to keep their banner. The only thing that they got was a lot of money. They was fined a lot of money.

Speaker 1:

The coach, shamar Moore, current coach, who was already going to impose himself a two-game suspension. They added another one. But not only was this two-game suspension, they added another one. But not only was this two-game suspension, it was a. He got to pick the games Because, keep in mind, michigan plays Oklahoma early. I think it's the first or second game of the year which is Samar Morris alone. That's where he went to school, so he gets to coach that game. He gets to coach the first two games and then the next two games. He's going to start spending it, which is some I ain't going to lie Some teams that they would have won without him, they would have won with me at the coach.

Speaker 2:

Central Michigan the two games after Oklahoma Central Michigan and Nebraska.

Speaker 1:

So those two games, they're doing a self-suspension. The NCAA added a third one. What I heard is Michigan is going to appeal it, which means if he gets suspended for a third game it won't be until the following season. So he's going to not coach those two games. Also, jim Harbaugh, he got a pretty significant punishment, otherwise he can't coach college football until 2038. The man's in the NFL, the man's 60. He wasn't coming back to college football anyways. So, with that being said, from what the NCAA told us, stealing signs, which is a big no-no. They don't like it in baseball. They really don't like it in football. Stealing signs going to other games, stealing people's signs, is a lesser offense than giving a couple recruits some strippers.

Speaker 1:

Does that not sound crazy.

Speaker 2:

They was watching film on the people they about to play. Louis just had some strippers in the room and we can't get our title back, but they get to keep theirs Now. Granted, right, the Big Ten. Let's throw in the fact that the Big Ten did suspend hardball that game versus Penn State that year.

Speaker 1:

Right, they got called. Pretty much during that season is when they got called. They got called during that season, so they probably stopped. They got called during that season, so they probably stopped. They had to. But who knows.

Speaker 2:

But even then, right, they was still assigned, like you said, prior to that he only got suspended. Correct me if I'm wrong. It was just one game, right, or was it two?

Speaker 1:

He got suspended, I think two it was two. Was it two? Or was it two, it was two?

Speaker 2:

Was it two? Okay, it was two, I couldn't remember if it was one or two. He got suspended for two games and that was by the Big Ten. The Big Ten suspended him. That wasn't the NCAA situation, it was a Big Ten situation. But they didn't lose their type, they didn't lose their championship. Still in size. You hurting the competition because you know what the other team is running.

Speaker 2:

But all right, y'all just give us $30 million. Let's not poo-poo the games that Harbaugh got suspended. Let's not also poo-poo the $30 million. You know Michigan got a couple. They got a, because you know basically it's a cap. Now you got that $30 million guy come. You know they got to figure that out. $30 million is still $30 million. We can't poop. I know Michigan got a lot of people that got a lot of bread. $30 million is still $30 million. Harbaugh got suspended. The Moore got he going to pick his two games, which is crazy. He going to pick his two games. Then he's going to get suspended. But they get to keep their title. And I'm not right. I don't want nothing to happen to the current players in Michigan because they didn't commit the crime. They wasn't on their team. Well, it might be a few of them, but most of them that's on the team now was not on the team then. So you know, whatever the punishment they get, that's cool.

Speaker 1:

But they didn't lose their title. Personally, I didn't care if they lost their title. I do because of the reason we're talking about.

Speaker 2:

Louisville didn't get third, louisville lost third and we still ain't got our title back.

Speaker 1:

We just need to get ours back.

Speaker 2:

That's the only reason, like you said, I don't really care. But the only reason I do care is because to me it seems unfair that UofL lost their 2013 NCAA championship title over some strippers, but Michigan didn't lose their title over.

Speaker 1:

Something that affected the play on the field.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that don't make sense to me, but the NCAA's weak. This shows how weak the NCAA is and they need a. They need a NCAA needs. I don't know if it can be the NCAA or what it needs. It needs to be a stronger force. Back going on in these college athletics Between the transfer reporter going crazy. Nobody's following the rules for real Like everything the NIL. It needs to be a strong force behind it.

Speaker 1:

They need a commissioner.

Speaker 2:

They do they do? No, you're right, you're definitely right, and I think they need. All sports need. What I would say is all the sports need their own individual commissioner, but they all report to the same, they all report to the hacker, they all report to the NCAA and say, hey, this is what we're doing. How y'all feel about this? Okay, cool, let's fix this, let's fix that. You know what I'm saying? It should be a checks and balance, but I do think each individual sport does need their own head. So there needs to be a guy over strict with college football that reports to the NCAA A person, a woman, a man, basketball or women's basketball, their report, and so on and so forth.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I agree, the NCAA is a mess. Eventually they're going to get it together. I mean, maybe Will they, maybe next year or more than likely it's going to be 20 years from now. They're going to figure it out eventually, but they're going to keep printing money, because that's what the NCAA is doing. They're printing money and they're okay with printing money. But Louisville should sue and try to get their title back. I'm just putting it that way. They should sue and try to get their title back, because at this point NCAA, they don't want to sue. If we attempted to sue, they're probably just going to say, hey, just put it back up, we ain't trying to get sued.

Speaker 2:

You right, you actually right.

Speaker 1:

But week zero is here. We actually have college football games going on this Saturday. This is going to be Lee Corso's last week. Is it this week or next week? Lee Corso's last week.

Speaker 2:

I think it's next week.

Speaker 1:

I think it's next week.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't think they will let him go out on this week zero schedule. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's next week he ain't going out on this schedule. They'll be honored to put him out on a week slate like this. I mean the 30th. Yeah, it's next week, yeah, so, but this Saturday, you know, we do have a rank versus rank matchup, the Big 12 in that conference that, who knows, is going to win it. Iowa State versus Kansas State. You got Idaho State versus UNLV, which UNLV should be a good team. Fresno State versus Kansas. Sam Houston State versus Western Kentucky. I'll be watching that game, rooting for Western Kentucky. And you got Stanford versus Hawaii. It's college football, it's football, so I'll be watching. But it ain't like I'm going to be sweating about a game or two. I just know I'll cheer on Western Kentucky, watch the ring versus ring matchup and cheer on Western Kentucky.

Speaker 2:

Let me tell you, dion, bro, I'm going to be honest. You can judge me, bro, and it's cool, you can judge me. Throughout this week I have been smiling and grinning from ear to ear. Wait, no, nitty, wait, no, sardy. Right, you can judge me, bro, it's cool, I've been grinning. I would just pop in my head and I would just sit there with the biggest smile on my face, like you know. Hey, just make it the sardy, I'm good, you know, I'm excited, like you said, top 25 matchup with Albert State versus Kansas State. I didn't know this was a rivalry and they actually played for a trophy or something.

Speaker 2:

I did not know this that makes it even more interesting.

Speaker 2:

I did not know this. I know they're playing the same conference, but I didn't know it was a rivalry and they had damn. I wish I could think of the name, I should have wrote it down, but yeah, but I didn't know it was a robbery and they had damn. I wish I could think of the name, I should have wrote it down. But yeah, I learned this week that it was a robbery. So now I do kind of feel bad because the game's over. You know, in Dublin or whatever.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I mean, they did it last year with Florida State and Georgia Tech, yeah, but I don't know if you should do a rivalry, shouldn't?

Speaker 2:

a rivalry be played on the.

Speaker 1:

A rivalry need to be played on home soil.

Speaker 2:

It should be Iowa State versus Kansas, because, you know, because I don't think that, they might be a rivalry, but I don't think that's a rivalry, I don't think it should be two schools that play for a trophy. You know, I think those should be saved for the actual you know campuses or whatnot. But other than that, man, I'm excited, I'm going to. You know, I'm planning my day around this. I'm thankful for having the college football party and it's not even no good game on me.

Speaker 1:

Bro, that's how excited I am.

Speaker 2:

I was like yo, you cool, you know we do the college football. She's like, yeah, it's cool, I'm going to cook, have some food. You know what I mean? What's?

Speaker 1:

my Christmas.

Speaker 2:

I'm excited, bro you talked about earlier some people prefer college football to the NFL. That's me. I prefer college football over the NFL, but I also prefer college basketball over the NBA. I like college sports. To me it's just more fun. I'm going to. I'm going to watch our game. The only I said it was two things. I said it was one thing, but it's actually two things. Besides the rivalry game being played in Dublin, I wish the second game it wasn't versus Idaho State, because UNLV probably going to run away with that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they probably will. I wish it was versus you know Somebody better. Yeah, like another Division I school, or it would be a 2-2 Division II school or an IWD1.

Speaker 2:

You want competitive games, yeah that's all I'm saying it could have. If you want to leave Idaho State, cool, or in IWB1. You want competitive games? Yeah, that's all I'm saying. If you want to leave Idaho State cool, let them play Idaho. I think Idaho dropped down the division now. I think it gets so hard with the West Coast teams. But yeah, I would have preferred that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because UNLV is a 26.5 point favorite.

Speaker 2:

And they probably going to win by 33. Yeah, you know I'm excited.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because UNLV is a 26-and-a-half point favorite.

Speaker 2:

And they probably going to win by 33. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. But other than those two things, I'm going to sit down, I'm going to watch our game. I'm going to root for, like I said, I'm going to watch the West Kentucky game. I was planning to go to that game but I was, like people I was going with, they got a busy schedule and I told them hey, man, you probably need to take this weekend to rest. Yeah so, but, bro, I can't wait. I'm being gritty, bro. I'm gritty right now. Right.

Speaker 2:

Then you know, like I said, thursday starts out Like what you said. They put week zero and week one together. They're calving it one week, even though it's two Thursday, we're going to have Boise State versus University of South Florida. I mean it's coming on at 530 in the afternoon. We couldn't at least push it to 630. But there's a bunch of games coming on at 530. Like people, be alert dog. But it's cool. I'm going to make my way home to watch these guys. It's my favorite time of the year. It's college football in a hoodie.

Speaker 1:

Saturday actually means something to me. You know you wake up without college football. It don't feel right. It don't feel right. You wake up, you turn on ESPN they talking about something that happened Friday night. Now I want to turn on ESPN and College Game Day and Lee Corso is on my TV screen, which we're going to get one final time next week but I might shed a real tear for him. I might shed a tear for Lee.

Speaker 2:

Yeah it's going to be bad. Lee is part of not my childhood, but growing up. Game Day is part of the reason college football is so special and I know Fox got that big noon kickoff and I tune in there once in a while. It is a good show. But game day is different. Game day is an institution. College game day has it has big game feel to it and they don't always just go to Big Ten. You know, kind of like those people do. They went to North Dakota State before you know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

They've been going to HBCUs.

Speaker 2:

They've been to Louisville. So, yeah, college game day feels like the institution. So, like you said, we get to see Lee Corso one last time. It's going to be Ohio State versus Texas. Next week's going to be crazy.

Speaker 1:

I'm looking forward. I'm excited about that. Then we got the NFL coming around the corner too. I'm excited to be disappointed. I don't know why I'm so excited to get disappointed.

Speaker 2:

I don't know why you're going to be disappointed.

Speaker 1:

You know my Cowboys are going to disappoint me.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, not now, but September. Y'all are going to win some games All right, we'll see.

Speaker 1:
