Louisville Kings Win It All

SPEAKER_00

Welcome, welcome to another episode of From My Perspective. It's a celebratory episode of From My Perspective. We'll get into that in a second. But I'm your boy Dion. Go ahead, like, go ahead, subscribe, leave a comment, and go ahead and hit that link in the bio and get you some merch. I got some merch on today. If you hit that link in the bio, you can also get you some merch for yourself. But I'm your boy Dion Q. How you doing today?

SPEAKER_02

Man, what it do, what it is. You're on another badge as your boy, Mr. Bear. Aka say your name up on the pod. Might not with you tomorrow. Let me see if I can get this camera down. Yeah, I got a little new merch on too, Miss Bad stuff. So you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, uh it's a celebratory week, man. The Louisville Kings are your UFL champions. They came back to beat the DC defenders in their crib. We went into their crib. We didn't wipe our feet off. We put our feet on their couch. We went into the fridge without asking. We drunk they liquor without asking. And beat them 27-20. The Louisville Kings are your United Football League champions. Um, the New York Knicks, they got their parade, but we'll get to them in a second. But we have yet to get our parade or what is going on. Y'all said y'all, y'all said y'all was planning one. Y'all put an announcement out today. It's almost a week later. Where the hell is our parade? But Q, how you feeling, though? Louisville has brought a championship home to the city. It's been a minute since uh 2013.

SPEAKER_02

Damn, that's crazy. The last time we won, last time we won't fight was 2013. Even though the NCAA keep acting like, we didn't, you know what I'm saying, we didn't do that. Uh so many I was in the I'm at my sister's house, we watching a game, me and my sister, my cousin, my mama. And it was in the first half, and Louisville was struggling, and I threw a water bottle. My cousin said, What did the water bottle do to you? I said, it's not, listen, like it made me feel like I had to apologize for water bottle. I'm like, we're struggling right now. I feel the pressure. I want us to win this. I need us to win this. And our first season, when we started out 0-0-3, playing against the quarterback that we traded. And Bean, imagine I hate that Bean got hurt because it it felt you want to beat the team, especially in the championship game, you want to beat the team that they best. You know what I'm saying? But at the end of the day, we gotta take our wins, we get our wins. But I it felt like it, I it was like pressure on my back watching this game. I think I'm not here trying to make talents. Well, I guess that's serious. It was for me. Like I'm like, I'm lucky out here trying to catch the fan. Shout out, shout out to uh lucky. It's four of them. I'm gonna read them off in a minute, but uh the guy from the UFS and NFL. But yeah, man, I felt the pressure. And then once we got to that end of that game, and I knew they ain't had no time outs, it wasn't nothing they could do. I started half-hazing my cuz, and she looking at me because she don't really know sports like it. She's like, so it's still time on the clock. We I said we good. We hit her. It's the odds. I'm on a broad. I said, I told her, take me to Broward. She said, it'll just be me and you, but okay. But nah, man, it felt it felt really good. I was happy, you know what I mean? So yeah, nah, it felt really good.

SPEAKER_00

I was so hyped. I was actually I was in St. Louis, just chilling. And you know, the person I was in St. Louis, I was like, hey, I know we got these plans, I know you wanted to go to the zoo, I want to go to this arch, but we gotta watch this game. It was I gotta watch this game real quick. So but I was so hyped, so excited for us to win a championship. First season, too. But uh, you know, there's a couple players, you know, we're losing some good players. So I'm I'm assuming we're gonna be back next year. I want us to repeat, but it's gonna be a couple players that we probably won't have. Uh shout out to them for making this here in NFL. Go ahead, go ahead and name them off.

SPEAKER_02

Uh Lucky Jackson got signed to the Detroit Lions. Tyreek Black also signed to the Detroit Lions. Tanner Brown, the kicker, he signed to the New Orleans Saints. And then the running back, uh uh Ian Wheeler, went to the MVP.

SPEAKER_00

Ian Wheeler, the MVP of the uh MVP of the United Bowl. And uh Tanner Brown, he's got a legitimate shot of making the uh 53-man roster as the kicker for the St. Louis Realm. I'm not St. Louis Realm, the uh the Saints. So shout out to him. Uh also he didn't play for the Louisville Kings, but he did play for the Louisville Cardinals, the MVP of the UFL, Mr. Jack Plummer. Gotta give a congratulations to him. Uh they lost in the first round to the DC Defenders. But still, shout out to you. You wore Louisville across your chest at one point in your life. You alright with me. Even though you weren't the greatest, you still alright with me. Shout out to you. But hey, I'm looking forward to next season. We need to win some more stuff. I look forward to this parade. What when is it gonna happen?

SPEAKER_02

Because I've been looking forward to it. It's parade. Like what you say, the Knicks already had that parade. Where the hell is our parade? It shouldn't take that long to shut down Broadway, put all the players on the floats, get some, get some step teams out there and call it a day. We don't need much. Get a flo get a big old float, maybe get a uh get the mascot out there, get a what I can't think of the.

SPEAKER_00

You can even gotta shut down all the Broadway. You can just shut down probably what five miles of Broadway.

SPEAKER_02

That's all you gotta do. Listen, it ain't this hard. Put the players on some floats, put some step teams out there, get you could uh what's the name of Poli, the UFL uh owner, president, or whatever, get him down here, lay him be in the car, be one of the first people out. Get you a couple sponsors.

SPEAKER_00

I know y'all want some sponsors.

SPEAKER_02

Y'all could get a sponsor too. Hell, if even if y'all want to, get the uh get the soccer teams out there too, so they could feel special, even though it's the UFL, get the uh the racing in the uh Louva FC, get all get everybody on smokes. Back up down Broadway, we're good to go. That's how you're gonna do it. Put some put some local stem teams in there, some uh the horses that we ride. Come on, man. Why the playing the whole parade? And they couldn't do this, right?

SPEAKER_00

Right. And the thing about these players are getting signed to by NFL teams. You got her even do it before they take off. Because they gotta get ready for trader kill. They're not gonna.

SPEAKER_02

It shouldn't take this long. By next week, we should have a parade. We should. I'm going.

SPEAKER_00

I'm in there too. As long as it's another day that I'm busy, but it shouldn't be. Because I'm gonna make time for it. But shout out again, shout out to

Stanley Cup Takeaways And NHL Marketing

SPEAKER_00

them. Uh do you know if the uh Carolina Haircast got their parade? Because they are your NHL Stanley Cup champs as they beat the Las Vegas Knights 4-2. Uh they won on Sunday night, Sunday 3-0. So did you did you watch that uh game six for the Carolina Hair Kings?

SPEAKER_02

So they parade served, by the way. Oh I saw the first, I saw the first. I forgot what they call them. Period, period. Period, thank you. I found I saw the first period, and then I straight away and I was like, I'm gonna come back to the third period. I'm gonna come back to the third period. And then it was four to zero, and I was like, alright, I'm gonna watch it because I know I know Vegas is gonna score because every game this Stanley Cup playoffs have been close. And Vegas never scored. Vegas never scored. And that's a first because like I said, this Stanley Cup playoffs, like I said, I watched every game except for that last one. I watched the majority of every game except for that last one. Every game has been exciting. Every game had goals, score late, comebacks late. Every game of this Stanley Cup finals was exciting. It made me realize like I should definitely get to a Stanley Cup, I mean, get to a NHL hockey game, as well as I should pay attention to hockey more throughout the year. Because we only watch it during, well me, I can only speak to me, I don't really watch it during the Olympics or doing when they do the uh four when they did the four countries around the all-star break. Other than that, I really don't cut hockey on. I think I want to pay more attention to hockey because of simple fact that this the Lake Cup Finals was was great. I it's to me they the NBA in the NHL finals was naked game as far as quality and as far as excitement.

SPEAKER_01

Because like I said, every game NHL that came back. So I thought the NHL was good at me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. The NHL is good. I feel like they're kind of in the same boat as uh baseball. They don't do a lot of promoting to get more new fans. That's just a cult following. They like the cat that they're stuck with their, not the casual, but they're stuck with their doll hearts. And they don't want to like reach out and try to grab the new fans. Like, you know, the NFL, they always trying to go overseas to play a game. They got a game Brazil. They're trying to not only are they trying to get newer fans, they're trying to get fans from different countries. I don't think NHL baseball is trying to do that. They just stuck with a status quo, which is working for them. But newer fans mean more players want to play hockey, meaning more players in your more players for you to choose from. So I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

I think the NHL and the MLB, they both have a problem of marketing stars. Uh, because after you know, it was a Avechkin and Sydney Crosby.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, after the day.

SPEAKER_02

It was those two for many, and even the new up-and-coming talent nobody speaks of. There's no excitement. And I always blame that. This is me personally, I always blame that to like your ESPNs. Because they didn't cover even now, I feel like they they have hockey. ESPN has hockey and they don't cover. Same thing with NASCAR, NASCAR starting to die off because of the fact they got their downhart fans, because your it's not publicized to the masses, it's not talked about in the major stories, in the rundowns. NASCAR ain't getting on PCI, unless ESPN got the contract. NHL was not getting on PCI until they got the contract. PCI is the star stuff showing. You know what I mean? They ain't talking about it. The rest of the ESPN ain't talking about it. So I think NHL do need to try to market their individual stars more and get more people excited about sport. Yeah. I probably don't play hockey anyway.

SPEAKER_00

So no. But I don't I agree with you, but uh, let's go ahead and shift because you did mention uh NHL needs to market new stars.

Olivia Miles Buzz And WNBA Growth

SPEAKER_00

Uh uh a sports league that's been doing a pretty decent job of marketing their new stars is the WNBA. Well, they've been marketing their two main stars, but looks like we got another one that they might be able to start marketing in. The way her visuals of her attire, they should have money on their hands. With Olivia Miles, she's been cooking. Been absolutely cooking. Uh last night she scored 31 points, scored 24 in the first half. This season she's averaging 19 points on 67, true shooting percentage. That counts free throws and everything. Five boards, six assists, two steals. She's shooting uh her field goal percentage is 56, 39.1 from the three, and 91 from the four. Almost, she's almost shooting 40, 50, 40, 90 as a rookie. So FedEx already has that rookie of the year ward already into her crib that's going there right now. So it's already in flight. It should be there in a couple months. But now we're talking about another ward. Now, if it wasn't for a woman in Las Vegas, I think it would be hers. But we talked about it a little bit before the pod, even if it wasn't before, even if it wasn't for AJ Wilson. I do think these numbers, especially her points per game, is gonna take a little bit of a dip when Mr. Fisher Collar finally comes back for the leaks. Because when the start comes back, they're getting their shots. And she gonna might have to take a backseat. But give me your thoughts, man, on Olivia Mouse. We we mean you both said she probably was a top three pick. I believe she uh went second or third, if I'm not mistaken. But we was definitely felt like she should have gone above AZ FUD. Probably not a uh not probably not above Miss Phil, but we definitely felt like she could have went above AZ FUD. But with a crazy backcourt in Dallas. Oh she went she did go second.

SPEAKER_02

She went second. Elephant in the room. We all know why Flood went along. We ain't gotta say her in the 10. Even though they want everybody wanna act like it. We know why she went one. Olivia Miles is proving why. Yeah, y'all messed up. I messed up, but it's okay. And I'm gonna touch on something you've seen real quick. If Olivia Miles is playing at the MVP level, and Fe's gotta work herself back into rotation. She probably still gonna be able to put up these MVP numbers even when Fee comes back, because in fact, she's going to, they're gonna, I'm sure they're gonna bring her back to love. And I'm sure Fee look at it like not at the young girl eat. So I don't know. I think she's still gonna be able to put up these, put up these type of numbers. Um the favorite is like you said, the young lady in Las Vegas to win the MVP. But I was reading it, it was like Asia, Asia Wilson's so far ahead. I'm like, I don't think she should be that far ahead. Uh young and wrong, Kelsey Clum's bottom two. I want to make sure I tell her to for the car. She's bottom two and deserves to be in the conversation for uh MVP. And they also listened to Kart, I'm telling you. I watched the feedback. No. No, she's like she's putting up numbers, but no. She's a con too right now. The team ain't the team ain't playing good. We just lost to Atlanta today. Team's not playing good, and Atlanta ain't that good because they're missing one of their stars, too. Uh, but I think Olivia Mal should really be in the combo, should be right there, neck and neck with Asia Wilson. Yes, do I think part of the reason I'm saying this because she's a rookie? Yeah, I ain't gonna lie. To be doing this in the league as a rookie, putting up these type of numbers and been on a heater for the past like six, seven games? Oh, I think she should be in that conversation. Like you said, regular year, it's already gonna talk about that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, that's all right. Uh, WMA don't start like marketing these these goggles with some fro wigs out. Like some fans need to have some fro wigs with some goggles in the stands. Y'all, y'all got y'all got money on y'all's hands. I see it.

SPEAKER_02

I hope y'all see it. Right, but like you said, hey, we talked about it with the NHL and the MLB. You gotta market your styles. If that's what that's her aesthetic, cool. We don't use your aesthetic to get more fans in and to boost your popularity, which will help, you know, get your MVP vote. But I'm gonna ask you this before we move to the next topic. Do you think that AJ Wilson should have one MVP a couple years? You think it would be voters for T.

SPEAKER_00

Uh Yeah, yeah, it's definitely a possibility of voters for T. It depends on how close it is. If it's close, because Candace Parker was the last player in the WMA to win rookie of the year in MVP. Hey, unless they want to protect, you know, how they protect Larry Bird's three straight MVPs in the MVP, unless they want to protect Candace Parker's legacy with that only woman to do that, I can I can see them wanting to give Olivia a little nod. So, but uh we'll see. We'll be keeping an eye on it. Uh also WA is uh considering moving to 50 games. What was your thoughts?

SPEAKER_02

Well, let's be real, I'm gonna be honest with you. Some of this drive some more games for me personally would be great because I ain't really got too much else to watch right now. It's gonna be real next week, it's gonna be real locked down WBA because what else I got? Um so for me personally, I love the idea for the 50 games. It's more, you know, more opportunities to catch your casual trainer on television when because they're gonna be on television more. So I think that's a great idea. I also said I know they're adding teams, but the great thing is they still can add another team or two and still won't dilute the league. That's how many talented women basketball players there are. They can still add another team or two and they won't dilute the league. You know, Wolf was here, Charlotte. You know what I'm saying? Cleveland wants that team back, but you know, you should come to Wolf first.

SPEAKER_00

Oh God. It'd be nice. It'd be real nice. Uh we but uh yeah, we can go ahead and

Brandon Sorsby And The Supplemental Draft

SPEAKER_00

move on. But uh quick, quick, quick topic, some breaking news that happened earlier this week. Uh Brandon Soresby is going into the NFL supplemental job. AK means he's done with the NCAA lawsuit. He's uh taking that back. He is not gonna be playing for Texas Tech anymore. It sounds like you know, there was a lot of backlash to the point even the Big 12 was even put in put in Pepsi to consider suing Texas Tech. So I guess Brandon Story is like, you know what? Looking like I probably won't play if Texas Tech, if the Big 12 by the suit, I probably won't play. Let me go ahead into the sub-middle drive. If you don't know what the sub-middle drive is basically a solid auction that happens with the NFL teams after drive off fields with players that didn't go into the NFL drive, a lot of times it's academic, a lot of times it's uh legal issues or whatever, for whatever reason they didn't enter the regular draft. The NFL teams, what they get to do, they get to say, hey, I would give up a second round pick for that player. If nobody or no other NFL team gives up or says they will be a second round pick, they get them, but they lose their second round pick in the upcoming draft. Uh Purley Brain Swordsby would have been a projected first round pick in this year's draft. If he played well, again, mid-first to early first round pick. But I imagine no teams probably want to give up more than maybe a third. If there's a desperate team out there, I can't really think of a desperate team out there at the moment. But if that was a desperate team out there, maybe a second, but obviously he has that gambler stuff behind him that's probably gonna weigh him down as well. But Brandon Tours, we entered in the supplemental drive, anything that uh you thoughts to that? I mean, we kind of saw it, not surprising. He it was way too much backlash for him to play it down at Texas Tech.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, that's a lot to say. The first thing I'm gonna say, you said there's no desperate teams. I could think of a couple teams right now that don't have a store quarterback.

SPEAKER_00

That would give up a second round? Because I think that's what I think that's what the desperate team will put. You gotta be desperate to put up a second round. Okay. Like, Cleveland don't have a quarterback. Nope. I mean, the Sean's gonna start regardless because of the money, but yeah, you're right. Cleveland got five quarterbacks, but don't have a quarterback.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, you're right. Same division. Pittsburgh. Aaron Rodgers is his last year. Damn, that's a good idea. They don't have they have no other option. If you bring him in this year and you see what he's capable of in your organization, you know if you needed to draft a first round draft, if you need to draft a quarterback next year or not. Next team. Uh where they at, where they at? I had I had him earlier, but now I gotta go through the teams.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, they got a quarterback that's trying to get more money out of them. Uh they got a not just a quarterback, they got a bridge quarterback trying to hold them up for money. Hold them up for some bridge. So they they Have a quarterback. But imagine getting held up, imagine getting held up by a bridge quarterback. Man, I'd be hot. And depending on how you feel about Miami. I don't believe in Malik Willis, but I mean they're gonna have to give him a little run.

SPEAKER_02

I was gonna say, Malik Willis in Tennessee, I feel like he didn't have the opportunity to have the weapons around him. He went put in a right position. He played well in Green Bay last year, but he had the coach, he had the offensive coordinator, he had assistant, and he had enough playmakers to where he looked good.

SPEAKER_00

And he wasn't a guy. He just had to be a guy for a couple weeks.

SPEAKER_02

So Miami is another team. Hey, we can look at him. Now, like you said, desperate. I think the only team that's like would desperately do it would probably be the Jets. But for a second round. But if we talk about just a third round pick, I think all of those teams would do it. I don't. We talked about that last week. I struggle with this because of the simple fact. Gambling is everywhere. Gambling is everywhere. Everything that has something to do with sports, gambling is a part of it. But do you want to bring in somebody that already showed that he got that addiction? Also, the minute he does something wrong, people gonna start to wonder if he fixing games. Do you want to bring in that that or lack of better word, that distraction, that baggage to your organization. Also, what if the what if the league suspends him for a couple games because of what he did in the past? The league had done stuff like that before, where they suspended you before you got to the league because of stuff you done. I don't know when you know what I'm saying, I don't know how the bird of it is, but it was silly stuff for like silent autographs and shit, but you know. But the league suspended you. Um, so I think team there's teams that I think would do it, but like you said, desperately second round. I don't think I would give up. I wouldn't give up no more than a 12th round pick. That's just me. But I can understand why a team would give up a third-round pick. Texas Tech. They hands with staff, right? Because we already signed this shores we took a contract, we already started paying him. But then you got the your whole league bad at you. Your whole, the whole every team in the B12, they was on a conference call, and all of them's yelling at Texas Tech. All of them, because they upset about the situation. So then, you know, Big 12 was able to was threatened to able to file a lawsuit, so Texas Tech was like, hey bro, there's nothing we can do. We're gonna pay you what we already gave you, and you're gonna go about your way. It made me think, uh, that's why it's a problem with all of these teams being to all these conferences, like 20 teams in a conference. Because simple for that, Texas Tech, what was you gonna do? Because you couldn't go nowhere. SEC don't want you, because Texas and Texas ain't them. Yeah, right. They're not gonna let you in the SEC. 15, they definitely don't want you. ACC is already in Texas, but they are. I think the ACC would have to take them. I don't think so. They got enough problems as it is. Clemson, Clemson and Florida State are already complaining now, but they ain't gonna get back to the city.

SPEAKER_00

I think they'll take pre-Brenness Horse B, they wouldn't take my post-Brestman. I think they'll take. Now that the Brandon Sorrison stuff is behind them, yeah. Come on over. We can use that Texas take market.

SPEAKER_02

Um and then the the Pac-12 or 10, whatever they call themselves, it's just a they still try to build themselves back up.

SPEAKER_00

They'll probably take them, but they they gotta they're it's from the Texas State. Why would you go there? Yeah, you not you don't want to go there. And you ain't had no choice but to start your conference now.

SPEAKER_02

You ain't got you ain't got no choice but to do what your conference did. The rest of your teams, the rest of the teams in your conference, like, hey, cut that cut that nonsense out. You gotta cut that nonsense out. So I don't, like I said, I wouldn't go no higher than a fourth round pick for him. And then if I'm him, though, hurts my question. He signed a contract with Texas Tech. What you think? They just pay him what they already paid him?

SPEAKER_00

Texas Texas Tech came out and said they they're they're not gonna ask for any money back, but they're not gonna pay him any more money. So, yeah, you got your nice little bag just for pretend saying you was going to Texas Tech. So, shout out to Brother Sorsby. We will find out where he goes and we will talk about it here in a couple weeks.

Knicks Win The Finals Breakdown

SPEAKER_00

But then we gotta talk about the NBA as the NBA season has come to an end. Thank you. I watched every single game, all five games. And this is probably the first time I can watch a finals game and say, no, lots of games was close. Like, you know, last year's NBA Finals, it was a close battle. Either team could have won the finals, it wouldn't have would have surprised me. This one, the San Antonio Spurs, to me, was without a doubt 100% the better team in that series. Each game went the same exact way. All five games. Spurs start out hot, dominate, and then get out to a double-digit lead, and then slowly but surely the Knicks comes and walk them down. The Spurs, they start to piss down their leg. They're a young team, not ready for the moment, and the Knicks take over. And only one game the Knicks couldn't win, and that was game three. Rest of them, the Knicks gutted out and won. So the Knicks are your 2026 NBA champions. Congratulations. Now, I said that I don't think y'all were the better team in the series. That's not a slight on y'all. That just shows how gritty you guys was. But damn, I'd be mad if I was a San Antonio Spurs fan. Q, what's your thoughts on the 2026 NBA finals?

SPEAKER_02

When you said piss down they win, it was like the perfect analogy because that's what they did every game. Yep. Legit what they did, and I I don't know. I just it's that's so simple, but that's legit what they did every single game. Um the finals also, the finals was good. It's crazy how the game if the series only won five games, but to me, the f I feel like the finals was good because of the fact every game was close at the end.

SPEAKER_00

Not better than last year, but I feel yeah, it was good.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, definitely not better than last year. You know what I'm saying? Definitely not better than last year. That's not even me being biased, it's just me being you know, being for real. Um I still feel like the series was good because like I said, every game within the last two minutes, every game was close. I wish I wish he would have won seven. But of course I wish he would have won seven because that's more basketball that I can be watching as well as we can do. But as overall, as far as the finals, I think I enjoyed it. Even though I, you know, I ain't want the Knicks to win as a basis, man.

SPEAKER_01

That ain't what we do. But, you know, it's what happened.

SPEAKER_00

So I guess we gotta go ahead and get into it. You know, we talk about each team as they got eliminated. What do they need to do? I go ahead and start out the Central Antonio Spurs. Not what they need to do, it's what I think they're gonna do. And I saw this in the Western Conference Finals. They talked about this in the West County Finals. Dylan Harper is an emerging star. Dylan Harper was taking Deion Dean Fox's spot. Win-lose a draw in this finals from my perspective. That's why it's still so baffling to me that Fox played so bad because you knew you were more than likely out the door. You were gonna be a Sally Cap casual, you're gonna get sent off to a Brooklyn Nets, you're gonna get sent off to just an idea old team or Memphis Grizzlies just for some cap relief. You're getting sent off, and you play so bad because this was your chance, and maybe your one and only chance to win NBA rays up. I feel like Fox uh is out of there. Not I mean, obviously, he's not a bad player. He had a very bad series, especially those last two games. But he's out of there. Dylan Fox is gonna slide in there. And I think they, for the most part, they're gonna run it back. I think they need to get a better, more consistent backup for Victor because he did all right in the OKC series. But Luke Cornet didn't give you nothing in the NBA Finals. So they they need a better and more consistent backup. As a uh there's a center, he might be a little pricey. We'll see. But there's a center that uh they just want to ring that probably won't be coming back to the New York Knicks. He can't shoot a free throw to save his life, but he definitely gonna grab you some boards and play some good defense. But outside of getting a better backup and uh Lynn Dylan Harper sliding to that point guard position, uh most part they could just run it back. No, P and Peter was talking about they might should find Miss Johnson. I'm not so sure about that just yet. But yeah, go ahead, kid.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, he means since you brought it up. I'm gonna take a little bit of it. Let's be real. He got out coach, and he got out of the bad, but it was bad, though.

SPEAKER_00

You gotta call you gotta call timeouts when another team's on the run, dog.

SPEAKER_02

You gotta call timeouts, and then you gotta figure out what play can you run to get your team to basket. Also, you know your star player can't play handle playing a lot of minutes, you can't keep pushing him out there for a lot of minutes. And then also, another thing, since you brought it up, I woke up on the same brother, but since you brought it up, we might as well continue. Um in the game five, the New York Knicks went to a small lineup, but he continued, he could he kept putting Cornette out there. Why you no match to them? You gotta match because Cornet, especially because Cornette was already sick, he wasn't giving you that. So it wasn't like he was gonna be able to dominate playing against a smaller bar. No, you go get uh Brian off the bench and you run a small lineup and you you match what they're doing and you run. As simple as that. I think he shortened his bench too much of the light. Hell, Harrison, it was a lot of times they was getting bullied in there. I think Harrison Barnes should have played. But I know that Harrison Barnes, he was he was a little bit banged up, but I would have played Harrison Barnes more because of the simple fact. Y'all was getting bullied everywhere. Y'all needed y'all power for to be able to get in there, grab some rebounds, play some defense of that nature. Um for the sparters going forward. I don't know. Okay, De'Aaron Fox did play bad, but I don't think he was bad enough for like a cow for like a financial job.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think he heard that. That one play alone. They had one play alone in game five. I mean in game four, bro. That one play alone in game four.

SPEAKER_02

Because the thing, like to be able to trade a player, that means somebody else is gonna have to walk. Yeah, that's good. Only team that's a team that I can think of off top of my head that's gonna have Caswigs, like you said, is Brooklyn. And they land enough to go get Austin Rivers and Eric Penny they can't. Oh no. Back court of Austin Rivers and Fox. Yeah, then they got all them young dudes because they tried to try people last year. So I don't how do y'all even got roster spots at this point? Well, that's neither her nor done. We're gonna talk about Brooklyn. Oh boy. What? So back to San Antonio. I don't know if Fox. I don't know if Fox is gonna be that easily moved. We talked about it last week. The best place, the best trade for them would be to get Julius Randle for Fox. That's just the best trade. But I don't know how Minnesota would actually feel about it. I think I think it's a good fit for both of them. It'll be a nice fit. It'll be a nice fit for me. Especially if you can't, Minnesota, I don't think y'all are gonna be able to get Giannis. And I also don't think y'all gonna be able to get John Moran. Um that being said, once you trade during Aaron Fox and you put the air uh Harper in that starting lineup, you're gonna need another backup guard. So you gotta figure out a backup guard, get you a power four, and like you said, of course another backup center. And if you get you a real uh a real pack backup power four, Champagne can move down to more like uh his natural position as a win. So that will fix that problem as well, because they're gonna need another win. Uh they also need Castle not to go over eight or eight or whatever it was the next year.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, besides that, running back because most of their free agents, all they free agents is all the dudes that weren't playing anyway.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. So they'll be back. Well, I'm not gonna say they'll be back, but they'll definitely be a contender. The West is deep. Obviously, OKC will be back. Obviously, Denver, they got Joker. As long as they got Joker, they got a chance. Uh Minnesota, as long as they got Entman, they got a chance. We'll see what the rest, you know. Houston, they got KD, not. We'll see if they can finally get them a point guard. Uh, I don't know, but we'll see.

NBA Draft Board And Trade Ideas

SPEAKER_00

But teams are gonna get better as we do have the NBA draft coming next week. Uh, speaking of the NBA draft, um the uh team with the first overall pick, they have a point guard that opted out of his deal. You basically said he's probably just gonna go back. You know, you're hearing that he's just gonna go back to the the Wizards. I was assuming that maybe some teams will have no opportunity to see what's up with it. But we we will see. But we gotta talk about real quick.

SPEAKER_02

Would you pay Trey Young that type of money? Because we talked about Kate LaCourt being a call on defense. Trey Young's the same cult. Or smaller. Well, Caitlyn, uh at least Kate LaCourt aspires for WNBA standards. She ain't tight. Trey's tight. Yeah. I don't think I'll pay it.

SPEAKER_00

I'm young that team that would be willing to pay him that money. Yeah, I can't think.

SPEAKER_02

I can't think of where he would at where would Trey Young actually fit right now besides Washington. We talked about Houston needing a point guard. But Houston ain't got the type of money to pay.

SPEAKER_00

They got that bread, because the teams, I thought they got that bread. I'm like, I'm sure, I'm sure Minnesota would love another scoring point guard. They got defenders around them, but they ain't got that type of bread to pay Trey Young.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I think Sacramento needs a point guard, but you might as well stay in Washington.

SPEAKER_00

Why would it go there?

SPEAKER_02

Why would it go there? You might as well stay. So, like you said, the teams that need the point guard ain't got the bread, so it's gotta be watched.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's gotta be watched. But uh again, the NBA draft is next week. Uh, top five picks, Washington Wizards, Utah Jazz, Minnesota Grizzlies, the Chicago Bulls, and via the Indiana Pacers, the LA Clippers. God, that's sickening. That's real sickety. But that draft is happening uh early this week. I said we're gonna talk about the uh NBA draft. I want to hear your top five prospects. Um, before you give yours, I'm gonna give ESPN's top five prospects. It's AJ DeBonta one, Darren Peterson two, Cameron Boozer three, Kayla Wilson four, and Kinte Waggler from Illinois five. Uh AJ is from BYU, Darren's from Kansas, Cameron Boozer's from Duke, Kayla Wilson's from North Carolina, and again, Kenton, he's from Illinois. That's the top five from ESPN. That's basically the consistency top five shifted around for most people. Mine's is slightly different. Uh, what's your top five looking like, Q?

SPEAKER_02

My top five, not going by a particular team, just going off prospects in general. I'm going AJ Devonta, I'm going De'Aaron Peterson, then I'm going Caleb Wilson, then I'm going Wobbler, and then I'm going Acuff.

SPEAKER_01

Matter of fact, I got Acuff.

SPEAKER_02

Waggler. So Acuff my four, and Waggler would be my five. And I got Caleb Wilson a three.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so you said AJ Peterson, Wilson, Acuff, and Wagler. So you just say Booker.

SPEAKER_02

I did not say Booker.

SPEAKER_00

All right, I was just making sure. Just make sure.

SPEAKER_02

I mean boozer. I said Booker. Boozler, my bad. Yeah, boozer. Yeah, I did not say boozer. I don't think, I just not, it's I think boozler is solid. I just think those, those and higher. Okay. Honest.

SPEAKER_00

Uh you you cut it, you cut out a little bit. Go ahead. Repeat that.

SPEAKER_02

I say uh Michael Brown Jr. I think he has a higher upside as well compared to uh Cameron Boozler. I just but I wouldn't put him as far as higher prospects because I'm unsure about his upside right now because of the Gotcha.

SPEAKER_00

Gotcha. Uh for me, and I say it's slightly different. Uh also I'm a little bit lower on Boozer than you, but what I got is in my big board, I got AJ, I got Caleb Wilson, I got this is this is tight, Darius Acuff, then Darren Peterson, and then uh uh Boozer. I got Boozer fifth. And Darren Peterson would be number two if it wasn't for all the availability issues, but I slit him down to three. I am very high on Darius Acuff. I watched him in the um the NCAA tournament. I love this game. I love how confident he was taking them big shots. So that's my uh AJ, Wilson, Acuff, Peterson, and then Boozer as my number five. Uh I also agree with you. Um I think Boozer's a good player. I just didn't see the skill set. I just saw he definitely has some potential, but for me, I just saw a lot of I'm bigger, I'm stronger, I'm faster than you. I'm just gonna get to the rim. I just see the skill set like I see with AJ and Wilson, the other two four draft board. But hey, we'll see what happens. Uh we'll just have the first pick, Utah have the second pick. Utah wants AJ DeBonsa bad, even though they try to lie and say they they're not sure who they want. We know who y'all want, but no Utah for us.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we done talked about it before. If if I'm Utah, I'm offering up Ace Bailey in the second pick for the number one overall pick, so we can go get AJ DeBonzo.

SPEAKER_00

And I and I tell you, I'll take that if I was uh, because you're gonna get the pick of they probably wouldn't get uh Peterson because they have Trey Young, then they get Ace Bailey. But you can get uh Kayla Wilson, Caleb Wilson can play the three.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they they could they could keep they could take Patterson's uh Patterson still because in fact Trey Young can play the one, Patterson can play the two, then you can bring Ace Bailey and he can play three. And then you got uh what Anthony Davis, I mean he can play. Yeah. If he's still there, he can play the four or the five, which whichever one he wants. Whichever one he decides he wants to play, if he decides to play. Yeah, now if I'm if I'm Washington, I'm doing everything in my power to try to convince Utah to trade up to take AJ Devons so I can get either extra, even if it ain't Ace Bailey, even if it's a pick for next year or going forward, do something to A, so just so we can switch spots, so I can get extra assets to build my team going forward.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, they they acting like they are.

SPEAKER_02

Because they're gonna have Trey Young, they're gonna have Anthony Davis, then they're gonna have a young, a young uh wing, or they might go boozer. I don't think they would go booze anymore. But yeah, but I also wanna say a lot of uh people got boozer going to Memphis. I think that's uh even though I'm not as high on Boozer, I think they I think Memphis needs that for like he brings stability and he's got like got a head on his shoulders, so he's not gonna get caught up in the whole Memphis situation or whatever. No, I think that'd be a good pick for Memphis. Even though I'm not as high on Memphis, I think him going third would be great.

SPEAKER_00

All right, well, that'll do it. But I do gotta ask you, no, I was looking down the rounds. You know, there's two rounds at the NBA draft. I noticed a certain team does not even have a pick in this year in the NBA draft. Now I know you're gonna keep up with it because we gotta talk about it, but are you even gonna tune into the NBA draft queue? Like, come on.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because we might go, you know, there might be some trades and stuff. So we're gonna talk, we might talk about it next week. So yeah, I I'm gonna watch the draft, and then Indiana's also rumored to be trying to start for at least the second round league. Because they need, because the team's team's expensive, they need somebody that can play for the Chiefs. So they still work. We ain't got no draft, we don't have no draft pits, but we're still working our prospects. So we're gonna, I think we're gonna get in that second round. I don't believe we're gonna get in that first round.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it'd be nice if y'all could. That's some good, yeah, some solid players, especially later on in the NBA, later on in the drive. But we'll see again. We'll talk about it next week. We'll see who goes first, we'll see who goes second, and we'll see what type of trade, and we'll see if the N the Pacers will make a pick.
