Emergency Pod And Breaking News

SPEAKER_02

Welcome, welcome, welcome for an emergency episode of From My Perspective. I'm your boy Dion, and we are coming to you with an emergency episode as we got to talk about LeBron, Raymond, and James Sr. But you guys know I'm joined by the man of myth the legend, Captain Hetty himself. Q, how you doing today?

SPEAKER_01

Man, what do what it is? You're another batch of boy, Mr. Bell, aka Say Your Name up on the spot. Might not with you the mile. What's up, dear?

SPEAKER_02

What's up? Nothing much. You know, we got to talk about LeBron, but Sisters of Emergency Break Glass in case of emergency. We got Quag. He wanted to talk about LeBron and Raymond James Jr. as well. You still uh on your uh victory parade over the next Quagma.

SPEAKER_00

Next and five, man.

SPEAKER_02

Next and five. But we gotta talk about LeBron at breaking news. It was between uh Golden State, Cleveland, Philly, and Miami. And LeBron chose Philly. Uh my first reaction was he would send me a text. Like, I guess we need an emergency podcast. I looked at it, I saw it from ESPN and I'm like, I didn't get no, because I got a bleacher report. They didn't give me nothing. I'm like, what? What's going on? I went to Twitter. I seen Tom's tweet about it. Okay. Then I get a bleacher report notification. So that's when I went back because, like, that's crazy. But Philly's the favorite. And first thing I said while I said it to my friends in the group chat, this is probably the biggest super team we've ever had. Because I think this team legit has five capable all-star caliber players. Now, not all of them will be an all-star, because you know, there's only one basketball. Somebody gonna get snubbed. But from my perspective, all five of them, Travis Maxi, VJ, XComb, Jalen Brown, LeBron James, and Joel Embiid are all five, are all all-star caliber players. Who knows if Joel Embiid will even play enough to be an all-star? But they all all-star caliber players. But I'm gonna I'm gonna start out with Chicky. What was your reaction to him going to Philly? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And if you feel like it was the right choice. My first two reactions. My first, like you said, my first reaction, as soon as I seen it, I screenshot and said, So I guess we gotta do a pod. Then my second reaction was I walked in the house, I looked at my partner, and I said, He couldn't do this yesterday when we were doing our podcast? He couldn't do this yesterday,

Why Philly Fits LeBron Best

SPEAKER_01

and that's why when my son asked me who to go against today, it's not gonna be LeBron. Because it's definitely this stuff like this. But now I'm just playing. Um, my first reaction was like Philly always made the most sense basketball-wise, as far as fit. Because in fact, he can just slide into that power forward position. I'm sure Dean Wade feels away because he thought he was gonna be starting when he signed when he left Cleveland with the Philly. Man, they got him on the bench. Oh, weird. I'm sure he thought he was gonna be starting this year. He's not going to be, because LeBron's gonna be starting at that power forward spot. But basketball-wise, it always it always made the most sense because LeBron, LeBron can handle the ball because he uh Maxi Aure showed that he can play with and without the ball. So he gets two to handle the ball, and then BJ can just cut and dunk and make all these highlight reels. Like you already pointed out, Joel and B is gonna play what 50 games? Yeah, yeah. And I uh and I'm I'm not even sure if that's the actual. He definitely playing though back to back. Go ahead. 50 might be okay. 50 probably right. I was about to say 50 might be half, 45. You know what I'm saying? More realistic, but uh baseball-wise, LeBron and Philly makes the most sense. You you think so?

SPEAKER_02

Because I mean uh I you're right. It makes best since it's it's the best team you could if adding him to it makes them the best team, then adding himself to Miami or Cleveland or Ghost State. I think Golden State was the most fun. Yeah. Miami would have been like, you know, coming back to an X. I part I thought it was either gonna be Cleveland or Miami. I thought he was gonna go, you know, I saw somebody say he might be ruining his legacy, not going back to Cleveland. Because, you know, finishing off at Cleveland might have been a storybook ending. But he's trying to look for a ring to be a storybook ending, which that's where he gets a chance at Philly. But I thought it was Cleveland or Miami. Uh Quag, you got some new competition in the East with Philly. They the new favorites of the Knicks. How you feeling? Well, you nervous?

SPEAKER_00

Competition is crazy.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like they're not competition, it's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

This is what you gotta do. Look, this is this is what you gotta do to beat the champs. I know we beat y'all. We swept the 76s in four games. Okay, cool. But you had to go get Jalen Brown and LeBron. And and I I don't know if LeBron got confused. You said Dean Wade. I think he said the she said D Wade. Yeah, he's been gone, buddy. This is Dean Wade. Whole different story. I I like it though. I like what he did. I mean, I thought either I didn't thank Philly because they was already so superstar heavy. I didn't think he was gonna want to go there and try to, but I mean, it's it's that point of your career. Barkley, Barclay went and played with with Drexler and and and and Keene. I mean, it happened.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say, that's what it reminds me of. Of when all of them dudes went down to Houston and tried to team up towards. But see, as the it reminds me of that, but at the same time, only person really has people at the end of their careers is LeBron and Joel. You only think of Joel because the same fact he say hurt so much. Joel ain't that old, but because he hurts so much, you don't know how much longer he's gonna play. But it do remind me of when everybody went down there to the Rockets. But I do want to push back a little bit about like you, because you said like Miami. Well, Golden State and Cleveland, too. I don't think they fit basketball wise because simple fact LeBron was gonna have to play like small four on all of them teams. LeBron's 42. He ain't he ain't chasing no Edwards on the switch on the wing. You know what I mean? It's just he wasn't gonna play the defense. That's why I said wherever LeBron had to go, he needed to play Foul Four. He wasn't playing Power Forward in Miami because he honestly was gonna play Foul 4. If he goes to go on the stage, you're telling me uh was it boy, Jeremy Green coming off the bench? Because you no, they can play together. They gonna if he if he was going there, he thinks he's gonna get Anthony Gates.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So Jerry Mart's coming off the bench. And then Cleveland, Evan Mobley and Jared Allen, on top of James Hard and Divine Donovan Mitchell, yeah, he has to play tomorrow forward. Somebody on Cleveland would have to play defense. Uh Mobley and uh uh can't think of his name, just hit his name on that. They was gonna fail out of the uh Allen. Thank you. Uh Jared Allen. They was gonna fail out every game because simple fact Donovan Mitchell was gonna let people play as James Hard. Right. And then LeBron at 42.

SPEAKER_00

The Eiffel Tower standing up there.

SPEAKER_01

He just so yeah, bro. That's why I said basketball-wise because of LeBron's age. If this was 10 years ago, Miami would have made the most sense.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you know, all

Odds Talk And East Power Shift

SPEAKER_02

right. So we got uh probably a new favorite in the east. Uh I was looking at an insert sports book here as the betting degenerate that I am, and the Philadelphia 76s are plus 1,000 to win the East now, which sounds kind of high, but it's actually pretty low in terms of since we're doing it so early in before the season starts. So they're they're the favorites in the East, and Loki, one of the favorites to win the whole thing. How y'all feeling about it? I know, DQ, you you probably uh like I don't know about that. My Knicks is still good, but hey.

SPEAKER_00

You gotta come see us, man. You gotta come see the champs, man. Now, I I think this makes our road a little bit harder because uh you know, Boston shifted a little bit. They lost the piece, but they they they gearing towards more of that, you know, that that 09, 010 Lakers era. You let Kobe go out there and do his work with the Scrubs. No disrespect to them boys. But you know, the the lesser play, the others, that's what we call it, the others. Jason Taylor's gonna go play with the others. Uh the 76ers, I mean, like I said, that is, we'll probably meet them in the second round. Because I guess I don't think I don't think MB, you're gonna need them, them, them 50 games. You're gonna need more than 50, but you still got MB, old LeBron, uh, Maxie, and and JB, they can hold the fourth now, but that the rest of that bench looks like, I mean, you got Edge Con, but the rest of that bench looks like some small dog water.

SPEAKER_02

All right. So there's there's actually three teams with better odds to win the finals over the 76ers, 76ers plus a thousand. Can you guys guess what the three teams are in front of the 76ers to win it all? But I'm saying it's only uh Oklahoma City. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I think the other one would be out the west for sure, be the Knicks.

SPEAKER_02

Nah, because they the favorite in the East, right? Nah, nah. Uh it looks like the odds just moved. The Knicks are the favorite in the in terms of in the order, it's the OKC Thunder, Centurion Spurs, New York Knicks, then Philadelphia 76ers. Oh, okay. The Knicks got a plus 900 to win it all. And then the 76ers have a plus 1,000 to win it all. So, hey, they still like the Knicks. I don't know about that. I think I like Philly better than the Knicks a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

But LeBron liked like the Knicks more than he liked Philly. He wanted to come, he wanted to come to New York. He just couldn't.

SPEAKER_02

He still could've. Y'all just wouldn't, he just didn't want to do the thing where you win the chairs and followed down.

SPEAKER_00

That's scrutiny though. You can never live that down. We'll be talking about that man for like trash to the end of his days.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, you can probably just say the same thing. This is a loaded Philly team. Uh Q, how you feeling about Philadelphia possibly winning the finals? You you confident it? Would you put your hard on money on it right now?

SPEAKER_01

No. Uh but you know me. I ain't, I'm not really the gambler type. But if I'm gonna put money on it, I'm gonna put money on the more sure things. And for me, it would, if I had to put money down today, it would be San Antonio Spurs or maybe OKC. I wouldn't even put my money on New York. It would be those two and just them two. Uh, if I had to put money on the team in the East, I don't trust, I don't, it's kind of like what we talked about last year. I don't trust none of them because in fact, Philly, okay, cool, you got this great starting lineup, and you do have Dean Wade coming off the bench. And I think they got, I think they signed Drummond, if I remember correctly, to you know, be the backup center. But okay, after that, it's I know they get they just drafted the young dude and he was killing in the summer league, but that's summer league. And then New York lost a bunch of people. Boston, I don't have faith in Boston.

SPEAKER_02

I don't get faith in them either. They behind the sixes with a plus 1400, but hey.

SPEAKER_01

I don't I don't have faith in them, and I'm a PG guy. PG one of my favorite players of all time, I ain't got no faith in them. You know the faces is coming, but everybody's gonna have the faces because they think it was an injury. It was whoa. See, all right. Damn, you laughed a little hard there. You laughed a little hard. What's so funny, bro? Because last time I checked, when we was healthy, y'all went home. But we we was hurt. Who was bro? Who was hurt? Oh gee. First thing I hurt that game seven. He got hurt game seven. All right.

SPEAKER_00

And we were winning, and we was coming back to win? Yeah, you got hurt.

SPEAKER_01

Like I said, last time I checked, when we was healthy, we beat y'all. So I don't understand why the laughter was so why the laughter was. If you use it, you know, I didn't hey if that's what we the excuse for using. But that being said, back to you know, present day. I ain't even gonna go tell you how to do your situation with you. I would put if I had to put my money on to come out of the east. I'll put my money on Indiana. What I'm talking about. It ain't even me being a homer, it ain't even me being a homer. I feel like with the roster that we got, I will put my money on Indiana.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, one thing I would put my money on is that the Sixers will make it past the second round

Can This Roster Actually Work

SPEAKER_02

more than likely. Because that's been that kryptonite the last what 10 years. They'll probably make it past the second round. 20 years for real. Uh but uh so but my my thing my biggest issue is is this team two stacked. So people gotta take some step back. Some people that know averaging 25, you probably gonna average like 18. LeBron, he's still, he's you know, he's a career 27-7-7, but 41-42, you're LeBron, he's more like a 25-5, depending on how he's feeling. So, VJ, do y'all think it's gonna be a progress stopper for VJ? Because I don't think Jalen Brown's gonna defer too much. Joel B, he's a ball stopper because he's a post player. Is he gonna have to know, not get as many touches as he usually gets? Tyrese, I think Tyrese ain't gonna defer too much, but I think VJ is gonna get hurt, and I think Joel B his numbers is gonna get hurt. So those are the two people I'll probably be concerned about. I'm not as concerned for Joel. You don't need that many touches anyway, with it. You know, you need the rest. But VJ is might be a progress stopper.

SPEAKER_01

You're right. If I had to put an order of people who I think got hurt the most with LeBron going to Philly, I would put Dean Wade first, like I said. He thought he was gonna be a starter. And then next would be B DJ Eskone because simple fact I watched he I watched the game with him uh in the FIFA in the round eight playing during the summer, and he played for the Mohammeds and Boy was just out there throwing the three up, and that thing was switching. The boy got the game, so you're right, he is gonna have to take a step back. The other person, I I think Tyrese Max is gonna have to take a step back too because of the fact you traded all of that for Jalen Brown. You don't want Jalen Brown to look good, so it looked like he made a good investment. So it's gonna be push for Jalen Brown to put for Jalen Brown to put up those points, and Jalen Brown coming in on a heat check because he fill away because of what happened the way he got shipped out of Boston. So I'm not saying Maxie's gonna take a big step back, but he is gonna take a little bit of a step back. But realistically, LeBron's you said 25-5. I'm thinking 25 and 5.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'm thinking bro's gonna be a 13-5-5. LeBron? Oh, a 30. Okay, let me hold on. Hey, he's taking my point right there. Let me take, let me fix it. He's gonna be a 13-8-5. He's gonna put a like eight assists. LeBron might average a double-double because of the fact the assist is gonna be there because Maxine Jalen Brown's gonna be able to get them shots. BJ gonna cut. BJ is gonna dunk on a bunch of people's heads this year because of the passes he's gonna get from LeBron. Yo, oops are gonna be crazy. Yo, oops is gonna be nasty, though. But I think Max is gonna take us a little bit of step back, but I don't think LeBron's gonna get to that 20 point. I don't think LeBron's gonna average more than 15 this year.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, okay. Uh, I'm I'm actually very, very, very shocked that you said that because I don't think easy.

SPEAKER_01

The star that they already got 18. You go in there to win. You gotta fit into what they do.

SPEAKER_02

So LeBron has never averaged less than 20 points a game in his career, I believe, if I'm not mistaken. This is the list is so damn long. He got so many fucking years, it only goes to his Miami days. Last year, he averaged 20.9 points per game. So it's gonna be a little bit less than that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I think I don't think he averaged. If he 15 or less, between 15, 13 to 15 points, I think that's what he's gonna average. Because Max is still gonna average 2012. Jalen Brown's still gonna average 2012. When Juela D play, he's gonna average like 18 to 20.

SPEAKER_02

LeBron is so insane because I'm looking at his stats. His rookie, he LeBron is basically reverted back to his rookie year. That's how the level he's playing, his stats season playing. He averaged 20.9 points a game in his rookie year. He averaged 20.9 points a game last season. It's kind of crazy how this man's really only reverted back to his dominant rookie year, even though he probably shouldn't have won rookie of the year, probably shouldn't want the mellow, but that's neither here nor there. But you think it's gonna be less than 20?

SPEAKER_01

I think it's gonna be less than 20. I'm thinking 15, 15, 8, and 5. Um he's gonna have average 15 points, eight assists, five rebounds, which is imagined. That's still a great stat line. Especially adding on the fact that he's 41. And then also he gets to go to Philly. He ain't gotta play every game like Juile and B. He only gonna probably play like 60 something games. Because why would you want a 40-year-old LeBron playing out there when you want BJ to get the development and all of that? So you go sit LeBron some games. LeBron might hell, he might only play 50 like Juile.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, B, he played, he only played 60 games last year, but he was hurt at the beginning of the year. So it'd probably be somewhere similar to that. Uh DQ, well, what you think is LeBron's stat line is gonna be? Do you think he's gonna be over 20, under 20?

SPEAKER_00

I'm I'm thinking uh a five-point drop-off is a lot. I'm thinking more like 18, 8, and 8. You feel me? He's down there. You're gonna have to grab some boards. You're gonna have to you're gonna have to share that ball too. He'll he'll average a couple triple doubles this year. Not average, but he'll have a couple triple doubles this year, maybe 10, 15.

SPEAKER_02

All right.

Predicting LeBron’s New Stat Line

SPEAKER_02

All right, so one more thing before we get out of here. We know we talked about the finals. Obviously, Adam Silver had a little beef with LeBron. Like, he was like, please pick a team so he can pick the schedule out. Because we knew LeBron he's gonna play on opening night. He's gonna play on Christmas Day. We knew this. So I want you guys to tell me who do you guys think the Philadelphia 76ers is gonna play on Christmas Day and opening night? Quag, who you what you what you feel? Well, if you Adam Silver, if you was these the TV executives, who you all? Opening night and Christmas Day.

SPEAKER_00

Opening night. This is an easy one. Open the night, I'm on Boston. Let's go and do that opening night and then Christmas, LA.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Because I knew I do know they usually don't let have these players travel too far on Christmas. So it's usually it's rare cases that they do, but for the most part, they don't have to travel too far. Uh D uh Q, what you what you feeling open at night in Christmas for the Philadelphia 76ers?

SPEAKER_01

So you asked the question, I what D what uh what DQ just said, LA open tonight, uh Boston on Christmas. But I'm actually gonna change it. If I'm him, I have Philly play New York on opening night in Madison Square Garden when they hang their banner. And then it's still gonna be it's it has to be Boston on Christmas. It it has to be Boston for Christmas. If it ain't Boston, it's New York, but it makes more sense for it to be Boston because simply you still gotta sell the storyline of Jalen Brown and Jason State, and you can't let them meet. You can't have one of them off Thursday night games where they playing. No, they have to meet on Christmas Day. Well, the world is watching. In Boston, in Boston, in Boston, it has to be Jalen Brown in Jalen Brown has to make his return to Boston on Christmas Day. That's the only thing that makes sense. I get LeBron. See the thing with the LeBron situation is LeBron's hand a two-year contract. LeBron's last year is next year. That's the other thing he did them a favor. Hey, this ain't my last year. Next year is. So y'all, hey, this year we're gonna we're gonna build the team, we're gonna run it. Y'all get all y'all, y'all can line your stuff up, and I'm letting y'all know in advance next summer. Next year, my last year. So, whatever victory lap y'all won't give me, whatever TV stuff y'all want to do, go ahead and plan it for next year. But this year, it's gotta be the Jalen Brown story.

SPEAKER_02

But you really think this is not his last? I know he signed two years, but maybe he did it for the money relief.

unknown

Nah.

SPEAKER_00

Two-year player option, too. It was a two-year player.

SPEAKER_01

It's a player. I ain't look, I ain't really looking at the contract.

SPEAKER_00

It was supposed to be a player eight a year.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think I think he's gonna play two more years. I know in his tweet he talked about he kind of thought he was done at the end of last year. And it's a possibility that it might it might be his last year, but more than likely, I'm thinking he's gonna play two more years. Because simple fact he said it at the fan fest. He was talking about I'm gonna give a team. Tac to build the team. So he already I think about giving the team time. So that's why I said he probably played two years, and that's why I don't think he's gonna play a lot of games.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if I'm and if I'm Adam Telber, I I know you, LeBron, I need to know when your last year is so we can get this money. So we can get this money. But thank you guys for joining us for another episode of this with this breaking news episode of From My Perspective. We had to give it to you guys and how to give our thoughts of LeBron going to Philly. Still shocking. It's gonna be crazy to see your opening night when they play, what, probably LA or New York. But I'm looking forward to it. Uh DQ got anything to say before we uh jump out of here?

SPEAKER_00

I got a quick question before we get out of here. Do y'all think uh this might be uh how can I put this? Do y'all think this is the best team he's ever been a part of? Or will be the best team?

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_02

I think it's the best starting five.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Nah, I don't know, man. Them them when Bosch and Wade got together, them three.

SPEAKER_02

It was just a big three, man. So you say Mario Chalmers and who was it? Shane. Badier. I'm being okay.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I'm being respectful. Being respectful. All right. Dwayne Wade's better than everybody on Phillips. Okay. I ain't mad at that. Chris

Christmas Day Matchups And Closing Takes

SPEAKER_01

Bosch at this age, at the when he went to Miami, oh don't hear me out. Compared to the Jewel and D that he's getting now. If this was Joel and B a couple years ago, it's a different conversation. Dwayne Wade's better than everybody on Phillips. Dwayne Wade's a top 75. Chris Bosch, when he was in his prime, he's better than Joel.

SPEAKER_00

He's better than B. Chris Bosch is better than this Joel. He's better than BJ.

SPEAKER_01

Mike is better than this Joel, for sure. He's better than VJ. He's on tier with V uh with uh Max and Jalen Burr.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So that's why I say the Eagles. I think, and then I think they roster was you got a bunch of you know vets at the end of their career that made the team, they have more depth. You had your Mike Millis, you end up getting Ray Allen. You know what I'm saying? I think the man that Madame team was better. That's just me. But like Deion said, the starting five is better.

SPEAKER_02

I think I'll say the I said his team were in totality. I think they were better, especially I think LeBron was a better level player when he was Miami. He was probably the best player in the whole entire world at that time. But this as a full starting five, like I said before, they all are all-star level potential players. Now they all not gonna be all-star, especially not Joe L B. He ain't gonna play the time. VJ might not get the, he might have to take a step back just because there's only one basketball. But I think they all all-star level players. So all right. DK, you wanna you wanna plug anything?

SPEAKER_00

Hey man, y'all could y'all can find me on the Nix Vibes Podcast, your favorite amateur podcast, and you can find it wherever you get your podcasts. But I appreciate y'all for having me over here, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Glad to have you. Uh, thank you guys again. Go ahead and like, subscribe, leave a comment. Tell us how you feel about LeBron going to Philly. Q, go ahead and take us home.

SPEAKER_01

Uh speaking of home, Jerry my green, you gonna you're gonna get that contract back and don't say nothing because you opted out. I don't know if they're gonna pay you the same bag. Uh Damar, go ahead and go to man. But y'all already know the five, it's your boy, Mr. Mel, aka can't say your name up on this pod. Might not with you to my y'all be easy, y'all be blessed.
