SummerSlam 2026 lands as a very good two-night show with real surprises, a few sloppy spots, and one or two choices that step on the biggest emotional moments. We recap every major match result, argue about the booking that annoyed us most, and leave with early Money in the Bank picks for 2026.

Welcome And SummerSlam Setup
SPEAKER_00Welcome, welcome back to another episode of From My Perspective. We're here to you to review the party of the summer, summer slam PLE. SPEAKER_00What's up? Nothing much, Q. I gotta ask you. Did you enjoy the biggest party of the summer? Summer Slam two nights edition. It was better than I thought it was going to be. Yes. I I agree with you 100%. Outside of one match that I didn't like, another match that I thought was a little sloppy. But outside of two matches, all of it was good, had some surprises, had some good moments, had some head scratching moments. But me and Q gonna get into it. We're gonna run through it night one and night two. Uh uh, by the way, you know, if you guys were wondering, you know, your boy Dion won the common point prediction, you know. I tied with Q on night one, but I took it took the lead with night two. We'll get into it
Night One And Night Two Recap
SPEAKER_00a little bit more. But night one, Gunter tapped out Nick Aldis. Nick Aldis, both me and Q both said he's gonna be a DM as soon as that match is over, and it happened. Uh surprisingly, uh Liv Morgan defeated E.O. Sky, which probably should have guessed that they didn't want Liv to lose twice in a row. Uh LA Knight, Sorce Cola, and Royce Keys defeated the Bloodline. Over Femi defeated Brock Lesnar and Helen Cell. Brock Lesnar has officially retired. We'll talk more about Brock Lesnar more towards the end of the episode. Uh Fatal Influence defeated the Bella Twins and Paige. I called it the Bella Twins turned on Pai. Now we can get on get the solo run that Paige deserves. Uh Tim Puck defeated Cody Cody Rose with the help of a returning Randy Orton. Knight 2, um, then House meet the Dom. Uh Chad Gable defeated Penta for the Intercontinental title in his hometown, Chad O Chad. Shocker and the best, you know, surprising good shocker, Chess Green, won the women's ladder match to become to interim women's champion. Uh this is the match I thought was a little sloppy and a bad shocker from my perspective. Brandon Corden defeated Trick Williams. Uh super shocker. It's supposed to be Finn Balor versus Sammy Zayn. It turned into a Fate of Four way with Gunter and the returning Kevin Owens returning. K01 to become the number one contender to face Tim Puck. And Roman Reigns defeated Seth Rollins in what was an excellent match. Uh what give me your thoughts on the show and what you know? Your likes, your dislikes, how you felt about the party of the summer.
Biggest Gripes And Missed Moments
SPEAKER_00Can I go straight to Captain Hate a moment? Go ahead.
SPEAKER_01What the hell was this Mug Ruber situation with Chad Gable?
SPEAKER_00I swear it looked like he forgot he had to do that. He did the mascot porter's like, oh yeah, I gotta do that, though.
SPEAKER_01Then he had to tell the family, now y'all stand over there because y'all ain't supposed to be in the shot with me in the in the uh the bird, whatever, whatever it is. Why the hell? Dion, tell me that. Tell me how this makes sense. They ruined the moment. They gotta sell stuff, but during the match, what are we doing?
SPEAKER_00Ruined the moment for Chad. Like he had his family in there, he crying because he won the title. Ruined his moment, but keep it going.
SPEAKER_01Man, dude, and then the mascot was like, Hey, you got you, you gotta come over here.
SPEAKER_00Like I low-key thought somebody was gonna be in it and they was gonna attack Chad. That's what I thought at first.
SPEAKER_01That would have made more sense. That would have made it more fun, that would have been more like a something. Then it's like, like I said, it's like the mascot's like, nah, we we gotta we gotta take a picture together. We gotta make sure we in the camera together, they gotta catch us, whatever. Like, man, they ruined the the whole moment was beautiful because his mom and dad was there, his wife and the kids was there, it's a whole beautiful moment. Then out the blue comes this this mug rubber mascot. Where you where did you even come from? I didn't even hear nothing about mugg before this. Then the other thing is Captain Hater moment. They said it was gonna be a street fight between CM Punk and Cody Rose. I didn't, I heard that rumor before, and then you get there, and you we like when we watching the show, you they said street fighter promoted during the match, but there was no street fight. No regular old fight. This is a regular old fight. I was like, I thought they said this was gonna be a street fight, but it turned out not to be. But other than those things, I felt like I felt like SummerSlam was was not excellent, but it was good because it gave us a bunch of strike value, it gave us some surprises, it gave us some things that we was not expecting, but it also gave us some things we was expecting. But those we knew Roman was gonna win, but it was still a it was a great match at the same time.
SPEAKER_00So the pretty good storage.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and then the moment at the end, doing the whole SHIL thing. So, like, yeah, it it was. I'm not gonna say it was great or excellent, but it was from my perspective. I feel like Summer Slam 2026 was very good.
SPEAKER_00I agree on Chelsea Green, that was an excellent moment for her. And hey, she shot out of her hater at the at the post show, Michael Hayes. Hey, shout out your haters. That's what that's supposed to keep you going, but shout out to Chelsea Green. She deserved that, she earned that. I don't know what Michael Hayes was saying, was thinking when he said she's not a star because she is one. Um Kevin Owens coming back with a shock. And hey, we talked about it with Biggie. You don't know when these last some of these people's last match. We thought we possibly had seen his last match, but we have not. And he told us he's gonna run it, run it into the wheels fall-off, even if he got two years left. So it's nice to see KO back. Uh let me be Captain Hayden, man. That I almost turned the TV off with that Dan Hells' Dominic Mysterio human monies on the pole match. I that that is your triple, that's your triple-A champion. What they got him doing? I almost turned TV off, bro. I'll this Dan Hells stuff has gone way overboard. But he's making money. I ain't mad at a man for making his money, but dang, that stuff is it's like I said, I almost turned TV off. Um another thing. Trick just got that custom U.S. title, and you losing it to Bryan Corporate? That's all right, but okay. It is what it is. Again, nice to see Randy Orton come back. Um Nick Aldis, you did a you had a great performance. Uh I mean, you know, anything else before we talk about Brock.
SPEAKER_01So the Nick Aldis thing, it it felt like a retirement match, but it it it I don't feel like it was said clear that it was a retirement match. So, but watching Nick Aldous in the ring, because I wasn't really, I had seen like highlights of him, but I wasn't really familiar with his game. Now, man, they're like, Man, we could get like a a little run, a little Nick Aldis run leading up to the buildup of him facing retirement here. Uh okay, let's talk about Brock and then let's circle back to Dominic Mysterio.
Brock Lesnar Retires After Oba
SPEAKER_00Um, so Brock Lesnar, you know, he he gave it. He likes what veteran wrestlers say, when you leave it, you gotta go out on your back and then lose your last match to give your aura to somebody else, and that's what he did. He gave his aura to Oba Femi. He said after the match, he gave told the world that Oba Femi is the next man up. He's the guy. Respect Over Femi. And then a couple days later, on the Pac McAfee show, uh uh, Brock Lesnar officially said he's done. He's retired, he's going to his farm, he's gonna be with his kids, his kids is playing hockey, his sons is playing hockey, his daughter's trying to go to the Olympics, he's gonna support them, but he's done wrestling and retired. We lost John Cena, we lost AJ Styles, and then we lost Brock Lesnar. Some true legends of the business. The uh they call it the OVW four. It was John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, and Brock Lesnar. Three of them gone. I mean, you you should add Shelton Benjamin in that. He was a big part of that. So the OVO 5. Only people left wrestling is Randy Orton and Sheldon Benjamin. Yeah, legendary class of the 2002 OVW. So shout out to that and shout out to Brock Lesnar for excellent career. Genny thing to say about Brock?
SPEAKER_01No, I I did like the moment, like you said, when he put over Oba and let everybody know that Oba's the next guy up, Oba is the future, oh, you know, Oba is basically building up to be the next Brock. I feel like with that match, I would say you had to use the cage a little bit more so it feels like an actual hell in a cell. Yeah, they didn't use the cage. They really didn't use the cage that much. It felt like I did like that Brock pulled, you know, the uh the mat up. So it got slammed, you know, he got uh Brock uh Oba got slammed on the wood, so it did give us a little something else. But overall, like I said, no, I'm I'm I'm I'm happy the way Brock did it. Shout out to Oba.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You you had to do it, and Obama was the right guy for it. No people were saying it's gonna be Gunter to retire him. I mean, just because you got the retirement gimmick don't mean you have to retire everybody. Oba was the right person, so no quorums with that. But go as you guys can talk
Dom Booking And Raw Mexico Plans
SPEAKER_00about that uh human monies on the pole match.
SPEAKER_01Well, we're not it's not necessarily human money on the pole, because that was a joke. You said you're going into the joke. That was a joke. But Raw is going, they're gonna do Raw in Mexico for the first time in like 15 years. And they're doing a tournament currently, they're gonna start a tournament currently to have a luchador from Raw SmackDown of Triple A go up against Roman Reigns on Raw, which is you know, that don't happen. Yeah, never. That's gonna be war. Them ratings are gonna be crazy. On Raw to uh, you know, for a world title opportunity. Shouldn't they be promoting Dom the Triple A champion?
SPEAKER_00He shouldn't be a part of that.
SPEAKER_01Shouldn't he definitely be a part of that? Or he definitely should, or they should have a tournament for his title as well? Uh you don't I think I think that makes a lot of sense because the fact you need to build the product in the hype around the triple A. At least that's just my thoughts. I could be wrong, Beyonce, what you mean?
SPEAKER_00He's the champion, he's the head honcho. At least he, at least he is in triple A. I don't know about uh Raw.
SPEAKER_01No, that's what I said. Man, they booked him, they the way they book him on Raw versus the way he gets booked in triple A, it should be similar. Because simple fact, we're a lot of us is watching the same product. On triple A, he's built, he's built as a word on Raw, he's built up as a glorified job. He's going, he's doing a human money's on the plug. And then you then they open the bag, it wasn't even human money. It was dead housing dollars. It wasn't even human money, it was deadhousing dollars. What are we doing? That match was a joke. That's why I don't even include that match because I knew that was a joke going in. Man, whatever.
Money In The Bank Early Picks
SPEAKER_01Uh let's touch on Trick real quick. I think Trick Losing was the right move. Because simple fact, I think Trick is gonna be the leading candidate for money in the bank.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01So much from the on damn nerd. They need that. Bro, they got two PLEs until February. It is August. They only got two PLEs until until Royal Rumble in February. That's the bank in war games.
SPEAKER_00We know it's limited in war games.
SPEAKER_01We and I'm not, I was gonna say they normally don't have one in January. Well, I think Royal Rumble's normally Royal Rumble's usually in January.
SPEAKER_00It's normally in January, but they normally do they doing Royal Rumble early February. So people's upset about that. It's like, man, Royal Rumble need to stay in January, which you know I kind of agree, but hey.
SPEAKER_01But they doing it not to go up against football. That's the only reason they're doing it, so they can not go up against football, which I get it, that makes sense. But you need to have at least have one in December then. If you ain't gonna have you can't, you can't go from summer uh survivor series all the way to the Royal Rumble without another PLE. But back to what I'm saying, Trick Williams winning money in the trick Williams, I think, should be the first favorite to win money in the bank because he's world champion like levels. What I think they need to do is book because you gotta have Trick at least go after the United States Championship again. So I think they should book uh, you know me, I hate triple threats, but book a triple threat between Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams, and Baron Corbin, and then set up a Carmelo Hayes and Baron Corbin feud and make sure Trick don't get pinned. So then, you know, Trick can go right off to the sunset to do his other thing, to do a bigger and better thing, and then be on the storyline between Carmelo Hayes and Baron Corbin. Maybe that can fight a switchings.
SPEAKER_00Trick could be excellent with the money, but can use, I mean, Trick is not a heel, but he is his character is a cocky, arrogant person, and they work well with the money and bang. I can just see him now walking backstage, eyeballing see him punk of Cody Rose. You see what I got. Hey, it might be my night. So I can see it work well for him. Uh so you you go ahead and call that now? Yeah, I'm calling that now.
SPEAKER_01We can go you can go and write that down in your notebook, but when we do the confidence point, we go and put the trick with the eyes up because that's what we do. That's what I'm going with, that's what I'm doing.
SPEAKER_00All right. Uh so since we already talked about it, we might as well talk about who you got on the women's side there.
SPEAKER_01So see, that was harder. And the reason I say that was harder because we're a warned, Rhea Ripley just had surgery. So Rhea Ripley is going to be out indefinitely. We don't know when Rhea, we don't know when Rhea is gonna be there. So, and then with Stephanie Rockur and uh Becky Lynch both coming and live Morgan now, I would I'm leaning towards Stephanie Barcure, but I can't be a hundred percent certain on the women's side. On the women's side, I'm not sure. I'm not sure whatsoever.
SPEAKER_00Uh uh, they're not gonna go, they're not gonna go super young. My first thought was no JC Jane, because she's been doing excellent work. But my guess, I think that'll be something they can give to Paige. I think I can see Paige winning it now. That's who I'd probably go with.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Who about Roxanne?
SPEAKER_00That'll be I can I like that. Oh, I I can see the story now.
SPEAKER_01Judgment Day, they plan I don't I hate that they feel like they always gotta break up stables, but they gonna break up the judgment day. So I think that's the you know, the storybook way of is having uh Roxanne Prairie win money in the bank. So then her obvious choice is live mortgage to you know build on the storyline.

WWE Schedule Complaints And Wrap-Up
SPEAKER_00but yeah, that uh was SummerSun Moth me and Q. We enjoyed it. Uh, we don't have a PLE for a while, guys. I know we got a Sunday's night main event. We'll talk about that, but it's gonna be a while before we do a confident point prediction, guys. I'm sorry. I mean, blame WWE. They said y'all get nothing until October. I don't know what they're thinking.
